Chengdu, the city where I live,

is a city with quite a lot of cloudy days,

with more than 200 cloudy days a year.
在冬天，只要一出太阳，

In winter, as soon as the sun comes out,
人们都要出去晒太阳，
rén men | dōu | yào | chū qù | shài | tài yáng
people all go out to sunbathe,
在公园、草坪、商业街，
zài | gōng yuán | cǎo píng | shāng yè | jiē
in parks, on lawns, and at commercial streets,
大家都来享受难得的阳光。

everyone comes to enjoy the rare sunshine.
上周日就是一个晴天，

It was a sunny day last Sunday ,
我们去到一个人工湖公园，

we went to a park with a man-made lake,
草坪上有好多好多人，

and there were so many people on the lawn.
大家带着各自的野餐装备，

Everyone brought their own picnic gear,
大人小孩一起沐浴在阳光里，

adults and children alike basked in the sunshine,
还有一些小狗。

along with some puppies.
有些人在沿湖骑车，

Some people were cycling along the lake,

some were lying down sunbathing,
有些人在一起打牌，

some were playing cards together,
有些人在玩遥控飞机，

some were playing with remote-controlled airplanes,
有些人在谈恋爱……

and some were in love...
这样的画面太美好了，

This scene was so beautiful,
没有工作，没有焦虑，

no work, no anxiety,
没有不喜欢的人际关系，

no unpleasant interpersonal relationships,
只有家人朋友、风景和阳光。

太阳照在身上暖暖的，

The sun shines warmly on our bodies,
但是一没有了太阳，马上就感到很冷。

but as soon as the sun disappears, you feel cold right away.
最近这里的气温是十几度，

Recently, the temperature here has been around ten degrees Celsius,
到了一月就下降到几度了吧，

and it will probably drop to a few degrees in January.
今年好像算是一个暖冬。
