In part two, we trade the hammer for a banjo. Jaime and Max dive into Max’s other world as a musician with Upstream Rebellion, a bluegrass band making waves with their high-energy sound. We will find out how Max's passion for playing music came about, and all that he has gone through to be where he is today.
Max shares how playing the banjo connects with his life in construction, how performing keeps him sharp and creative, and why balancing music with building brings out the best of both.

From intern to full-time crew member, Max Rogers shares his journey with the Perkins Builder Brothers. Hear how he chose custom homes over commercial building and what it means to join the crew for real.

In this episode of Let Jaime Talk, Jaime welcomes Max Rogers, the newest full-time member of the Perkins Builder Brothers crew.
Max’s story is one of following passion over convention. After graduating with a Construction Management degree, he had the option to pursue a commercial building career. Instead, he chose the custom home route, where craftsmanship, creativity, and personal connection define the work.
Jaime and Max talk about how his early internship with the Builder Brothers sparked an interest that turned into a full-time role on the crew. They dive into what it’s like to transition from the classroom to the jobsite, the lessons learned building alongside a tight-knit team, and why custom homes felt like the right fit for his future.
This episode is a window into the mindset of a builder starting his career, balancing education with hands-on experience, and choosing a path rooted in craft and community.
