Life is hard and it really sucks when someone hurts us. It sucks when we know we’ve hurt someone else too. In our pursuit to be validated or vindicated in our emotions and opinions if someone wronged us or even when we’ve wronged someone else - do we leave room to be accountable or to forgive? This 3 things are complicated and there’s not “right” way to navigate them. We need remain humble and able to learn. Remember the Golden Rule - “Treat others how you want to be treated.” And also remember you’re 5 finger promise - “You are SMART, KIND, IMPORTANT, BEAUTIFUL and LOVED!”

2020 (and more like 2015) I lost relationships due to politics. The changing in my political views didn’t happen overnight. Talking about this is scary quite honestly. Being open about what I believe, think and have felt in the journey of change in my political ideologies isn’t something I’ve really done before. While it feels good to put it out in words, sharing with others is something that I’ve put off.
As a parent one thing I’ve come to learn is to stop making things about only 2 genders and being inclusive, not exclusive. Starting to change the language and behaviors we use regarding what kids can or cannot do based on what was once labeled male or female. Telling our kids the world is yours, you can chose whatever you want to do!

Feeling safe in my fat body is something I hadn’t considering until my therapist pointed it out. This isn’t something that’s “bad” it is merely an aspect of loving my fat body. Sometimes I think we forget that kids are still learning and going to have big emotions. This happens at the store or a glimpse of what a parent shares online. Instead of judging and making harsh comments, some compassion and kindness go a long way. Let’s work together and support each other as parents. Let kids be kids!
Mental health is a hard topic to discuss. It’s one of the most vulnerable places we expose ourselves with our inner most thoughts, emotions and so much more. 2020 was a year I don’t think anyone anticipated, including myself. I started therapy in October of 2019 and my journey through self discovery, mental health diagnosis, trauma and so much more has been amazing and MASSIVELY hard and uncomfortable. Join me in this vulnerable discussion.

This is the very first episode to Life, Mind and Music! I’m going to just be doing an intro to me, Kylee, and setup what this podcast will look like. There’s no editing in the part where I speak. I wanted this first episode to be raw. I hope you enjoy! Thanks for listening!
