The Christmas Story: Mary's Yes (Week 3) AUDIO ONLY

"I am the Lord's servant."

Five words. One teenage girl. A choice that changed everything.

When the angel appeared to Mary with an impossible invitation, she had every reason to say no. It would cost her reputation, possibly her relationship, maybe even her life. She didn't know how it would work. She couldn't see the full picture. But she said yes anyway.

In this final message of The Christmas Series, we explore what Mary's surrender teaches us about following Jesus. Because here's the thing: most of us have it backwards. We want God to serve us—to bless our plans, fix our problems, make our lives comfortable. But Mary understood something we often miss: God has already served us in the most incredible way. Now we have the privilege of serving Him.

Every surrender requires a personal sacrifice. Every surrender requires trust. But here's what we discover in Mary's story: surrendering to God isn't losing your life—it's finally finding it.

What is God asking you to say yes to?

What would change if you stopped asking God to serve your plans and started serving His?

The Christmas Story: No Room for Him (Week 2)

"No room at the inn." The innkeeper wasn't evil—he was just full. Sound familiar?

Most of us aren't trying to keep Jesus out. We're just packed. Full calendars. Full schedules. Full minds. Full hearts. We're running but not working, busy but not purposeful.

In this Christmas message, we explore what it really means to make room for Jesus. What's clogging you up? What would it cost to clear it out? And what's holding you back from opening the door?

God doesn't wait for perfect conditions—He met us in a stable. But He does wait for a willing heart. The question 2000 years ago was: Is there room at the inn? The question today is: Is there room in your life?

The Christmas Story: Come sit with me (Week 1)

You've heard the Christmas story. But have you really seen it?

In this message, we discover why the angel's announcement to the shepherds matters more than you might think. The message wasn't just informative—it was transformational: good news that brings great joy for all people.

If you don't think Christianity is good news, brings great joy, or is for all people—you haven't heard or understood the version Luke was writing about.

It unpacks what it means to be a "come sit with me" church in a world hungry for connection, meaning, and hope.

Featuring insights from recent research showing a surprising cultural shift with people being way more open to faith than previously, the importance of us being ‘sit with me people’ and a ‘sit me church’ is more important than ever.

The shepherds received an invitation, responded immediately, and became inviters themselves. What will you do with the good news that brings great joy to all people?

TRIGGERED: Rewiring Your Response (Week 5)

We've come a long way over the last four weeks of TRIGGERED. But here's the question everyone's asking: How do I make this last?

In this final message, we tackle the long game of transformation. Using Philippians 4:8 and the biblical framework of renewing your mind, we discover that lasting change doesn't come through willpower or quick fixes — it comes through consistent, Spirit-empowered practice over time.

We explore the neuroscience of rewiring: it takes 66 days on average to form a new habit, and up to 254 days for complex behavioral change to become truly automatic. That's months, not days. This isn't discouraging—it's liberating. Because when you understand the process, you can trust it.

We walk through Paul's six categories for renewed thinking from Philippians 4 true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable — with detailed examples of how to apply each one when you're triggered. These aren't just nice ideas; they're practical tools for redirecting your mind when it defaults to fear, revenge, or catastrophizing.

We address the critical distinction between self-improvement and gospel-empowered transformation. Self-help says "try harder." The gospel says "try hard AND the Spirit empowers you as you do." This isn't either/or—it's both/and. You work out your salvation because God works in you. Effort plus grace equals transformation.

This isn't about perfection. It's about progress. It's about partnering with the Spirit's power rather than relying on your own strength. And it's about trusting that God, who began a good work in you, will carry it on to completion.

You're not stuck. You're in process. And transformation is possible—not through quick fixes, but through the slow, steady, grace-filled work of rewiring your responses until they become your new default.

TRIGGERED: Our Response-Ability (Week 4)

What do I do when I'm actually triggered? How do I choose my response instead of defaulting to my reaction?

In this message, we dive into Romans 12:2, where Paul isn't just suggesting behavior modification. He's inviting us into complete transformation through the power of Jesus' death and resurrection.

We discover that between every stimulus and response, there's a space. And in that space is your freedom. Your response-ability — the ability to choose your response.

We explore how the our natural pattern keeps us stuck: react immediately, protect yourself, get even, hold grudges, let emotions control you. But transformation offers something radically different: the power to pause, think, observe God's truth, and proceed with wisdom.

Through the STOP method, we learn practical steps for choosing our response in real-time. We see how Jesus modeled this perfectly at the cross—facing ultimate triggers without losing His identity because He was secure in the Father.

The gospel connection is powerful: The cross breaks the pattern's power over you. The resurrection gives you NEW power to change. You're not trying to transform through willpower—you're accessing resurrection power that's already yours through the Holy Spirit.

TRIGGERED: Triggered by the Trivial (Week 3)

The last two weeks, we've gone deep—identifying our triggers, examining our false gods, and tracing our reactions back to childhood wounds and false beliefs. Heavy stuff. Important stuff.

But this week? We're talking about the triggers that aren't tied to trauma. The trivial things that still set us off: slow WiFi, traffic, plans changing, someone chewing loudly, technology failing at the worst moment.

Here's the uncomfortable truth: spiritual maturity isn't measured by what you know—it's revealed by how we respond to life's minor irritations. And right now, most of us are being controlled by things that don't matter.

We’ll discover that how we handle trivial frustrations reveals our true maturity. We explore why small things trigger us (we're maxed out, we've lost perspective, we're spiritually immature), and what it costs us when we let them control us—wasted energy, damaged relationships, and missed kingdom opportunities.

The gospel confronts our belief that we deserve comfort and convenience. Jesus endured the ultimate inconvenience—the cross—so we could be free. When we're secure in what Christ has done, trivial things lose their power because we're no longer looking to circumstances for peace, to convenience for security, or to control for safety.

TRIGGERED: Why We React the Way We Do (Week 1)

You know that moment when someone says that thing and suddenly you're angrier than the situation deserves? Or when a small comment ruins your entire day? We've all got them—those buttons that when pushed, turn us into people we don't want to be.

In this first message of the TRIGGERED series, we explore why we react the way we do. From lighthearted triggers like people who leave one square of toilet paper on the roll, to the heavier stuff like financial stress, broken trust, and feeling undervalued, we discover that our reactions reveal something deeper about what we truly look to for security.

We unpack the four unhealthy ways most of us respond when triggered: reactive, suppressive, blaming, and numbing. And we introduce a better way—being emotionally responsive, where we're first aware of our emotional state and then able to influence our behavior when emotions kick in.

Through Psalm 139, we learn that God designed us with emotions, and our capacity to feel deeply isn't a bug—it's a feature. We discover that our triggers reveal what we've made ultimate in life: control, approval, comfort, or success. These aren't just bad habits—they're spiritual issues pointing to what we're really looking to instead of God.

The good news? Jesus faced ultimate triggers without losing His identity because His identity was secure in the Father. Through Him, that same security is ours. When you're secure in Christ, your triggers lose their power—because what you're desperately trying to protect, Jesus already secured for you.

You're not broken. You're human. And understanding why you react is the first step to freedom.

Shuffle 2025: Under The Bridge by Red Hot Chilli Peppers (Week 4)

You can be surrounded by people and still feel completely alone. You can have a full social calendar and an empty heart. You can be in a relationship and still feel like nobody really knows you.

In this final message of the Shuffle series, we explore the loneliness epidemic using Red Hot Chili Peppers' iconic "Under the Bridge" and God's design for connection found in Genesis 2 and 3.

We discover that loneliness isn't a flaw - it's a design feature pointing us toward what we were made for: authentic connection. We learn that we were designed not just for any connection, but for deep connection where we're fully known and fully loved. And we see how sin entered the world and made that connection incredibly difficult to find.

Through the cross, Jesus defeated isolation and created a family where the lonely finally belong. Whether you're lonely in a crowd, isolated in your own home, or just tired of pretending you're fine, this message offers hope: You weren't made to do life alone, and you don't have to.

Shuffle 2025: Beautiful Things by Benson Boone (Week 3)

Life is finally good. You have the relationship, the job, the family, the health you've been praying for. So why can't you sleep? Why are you up at night thinking "I just might lose it all"?

In this message, we explore the paradox of being grateful for our blessings while being paralyzed by the fear of losing them. We discover why holding our beautiful things with clenched fists actually prevents us from enjoying them.

Using Benson Boone's viral hit "Beautiful Things" and the ancient story of Job, we learn that the one thing we can't lose is more valuable than everything we're afraid of losing.

Whether you're anxious about your relationships, your family, your health, or your future, this message offers a path from fear to freedom - showing how trusting the heart of the Giver allows us to hold beautiful things with open hands.

Shuffle 2025: Daisies by Justin Bieber (Week 2)

Ever felt that desperate anxiety when someone leaves you on read? Or find yourself constantly needing reassurance that someone really loves you? Or counting down the days until you can see them again?

In this message, we explore why we put so much pressure on human relationships to complete us - and why that pressure is crushing both us and the people we love.

Using Justin Bieber's vulnerable song "Daisies" and the story of a woman who went through five marriages searching for "the one", we discover that the love we're desperately seeking is actually seeking us.

Whether you're in a relationship, single, or it's complicated, this message offers a fresh perspective on why our longing for perfect love might be pointing us toward something - or someone - we've been missing.

Shuffle 2025: Your Way is Better (Week 1)

We all have that one person who gives advice we know is right but really don’t want to hear. What happens when that person is God?

In this message, we explore why doing life “our way” isn’t working out as well as we thought, and why God’s way - even when it’s harder - actually leads to the life we’re really looking for.

Using the viral song “Your Way is Better” and the story of a successful young man who walked away from Jesus, we discover that God’s way isn’t better because it’s easier - it’s better because He sees what we can’t see.
