Arsenal cannot afford mistakes now.
With the Premier League title race tightening, Bournemouth vs Arsenal feels like a huge game, and Mikel Arteta may have no choice but to go full strength to keep a grip on the top of the table.
In this video, I break down how Arsenal must approach the game, the XI Arteta is likely to trust, and the tough selection decisions that could define the title run-in.
I look at David Raya in goal, a defence built around Jurrien Timber, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Piero Hincapie, and how Arsenal can control the game through midfield with Martin Zubimendi alongside Declan Rice if he is fit, or Mikel Merino if not.
I also discuss Martin Odegaard’s return to form at a crucial moment, Bukayo Saka’s importance on the right, and the two biggest attacking debates heading into the game. On the left wing, should Arteta trust Leandro Trossard’s efficiency or Gabriel Martinelli’s direct threat? And up front, is this the moment to back Viktor Gyokeres or stick with Gabriel Jesus?
Arteta has some huge calls to make.
This match matters even more after key title rivals dropped points. Manchester City slipped up against Sunderland, Liverpool dropped points to Leeds, and Chelsea also failed to win, including against Bournemouth themselves.
