What's the difference between the 93rd minute and 52 second and the 96th minute and fifteen second..? Harrison Reed .. obvs.
Well at least we didn't lose... An inspired Cairney goal in the 80th minute ensured a draw at Selhurst Park. But chances were squandered at the end of the match. A frustrating match?
An end of 2025 review Fulham Fans! Who stood out so far this season and how have our new signings fared? We then assesswhat sport our Fulham players would have pursued if football didn’t exist….
We’ll review the Palace match later….
An uncharacteristic win away at West Ham United! Such a great feeling having amassed these points when so many of our key players are either injured or at Afcon. So much credit should go to this team who are battling through each game, showing real togetherness and resilience.
Entertaining football? Not this time Fulham fans...but we were fortunate in sneaking a win. A drab game with a few promising features we head off to the London Stadium on Saturday...
Discussing our exit from the Quarter final of the Carabao Cup reminds me of the end credits of the 1980's TV drama 'The Incredible Hulk' - the inevitable melancholy exit.... Anyway, Forest on Monday - can Fulham bounce back listeners...?
Another crazy game - ranging from the shambolic to the sublime! But Fulham really needed that win and thanks to Wilson it was achieved. Also, great support from Smith-Rowe and Leno played a blinder!
Burying our heads in statistics to lessen the pain. But nevertheless a sublime goal from Harry Wilson and another gutsy display by Smith-Rowe. Are Fulham in the 'mild jeopardy' category? Yes. So no pressure at Burnley on Saturday......
After the first 60 minutes of not blinking the last 30 minutes brought back some of the joy. There is a lot to be concerned about as we looked completely out of our depth but conversely some break out performances which are potentially very important.
A delightful and unusual feeling Fulham fans, an away win, with some of the old forward flair that we’ve been crying out for. Yes, there are still some underlying issues that need addressing but what an experience!
We've been completely bamboozled by Fulham after a shock win for us on Saturday! More proactive and some promising performances which have given us a little bit of hope. Sunderland seemed quite passive in this match with just a few flashes of skill. But overall I think we deserved to win this. (BTW, Sunderland have the most lyrical set of names in the Prem - you could read them out like the shipping forecast!!)
At least Beto didn't score against us this time!
The blinkers are off! The squad that Silva has worked wonders with historically is now beginning to fragment!? Is this an unnecessary doom ridden assessment of our current form or are we finally witnessing the true nature of our team?
All right .... I still have reservations about this win but it was great to see Sess score and Wilson strike the ball so beautifully into the net. Wolves are at a low ebb and usually we would be the team to kick start their season - but this time we bucked our usual trend.
Finally, finally ... apologies to our loyal listener (or listeners!!!???) about the delay. We have finally managed to publish our podcast! - looking back at the loss at Newcastle, the underwhelming performance at Wycombe, and the 20 trillion pointer against Wolves on Saturday. What could possibly go wrong?
Tom corrects me on name pronunciation as we bemoan our 3rd defeat in a row. Injury crisis? What injury crisis! As the list gets longer we question the team selection - yet still have faith in the increasingly frustrated Silva.
Black and white balloons being hurled around by the swirling wind and rain, referees ear piece malfunctioning after 35 seconds and yes... another defeat. But at least we witnessed a stunning goal by Sessegnon!
Our 50th episode!!!! Shame it wasn't a match to celebrate. But as a Fulham fan this is absolutely normal. Reviewing this match was difficult - but we try and retain a semblance of objectivity and dignity?!
After a long wait we are back to review the win against Brentford. A disppointing display from the Bees which we capitalised on - with 2 goals which were stunners - one of which was disallowed and a magnificent team goal beautifully taken by Wilson. An Iwobi break through goal which changed the Fulham mindset and ensured we approached the rest of the match positively. We briefly mention the Carabao cup match against Cambridge and Sunday's fixture against Villa.
With my tired metaphors and a dismal performance you would think we'd lost this match. Astonishingly and undeservedly we won. Is Silva's team selection suspect? Can we bear another performance like this? How much expectation will now be on Kevin? Brentford next week....
(Apologies for the rather poor sound quality and the lack of the River Thames - work in progress)
If a valid goal is scored on a football pitch but VAR can't see it, did the goal ever exist? We get all philosophical in today's pod after the Chelsea Fulham match. We breeze past the Carabao cup match and talk about floodlights and get a little excited about our new signings and bemoan, you guessed it, the glaring Number 6 hole that still remains.
