What is the purpose of having a Guru? What do we mean by a "guru?" Obviously, a Guru is a kind of "life teacher." But how is he or she distinguished from other types of teachers? A Guru does not necessarily teach us skills and add more to the "knowledge" we have already accumulated. A real "guru" takes away what we think we "know." The Guru questions what we "know." He removes the blocks in us to the deeper awareness of absolute states of our being—Love, Gratitude, Joy, Generosity, Abundance, and other lofty frequencies of our inner experience.
