The organization receives donated textbooks, novels, magazines and other reading materials, and mails them—at no charge—to any incarcerated person who requests materials aligned with their interests. MBTP emphasizes that education is a basic human right, and they believe that making reading resources available in prison helps build pathways to more meaningful lives after release.
