John 1:1 DESTROYS The Arian Heresy! [Sermon]

Discover the profound truth of Jesus Christ's eternal deity and the miracle of the Incarnation in this powerful sermon on John 1:1-14!

Why does John's Gospel powerfully refute Arianism — the ancient heresy (still alive today in groups like Jehovah's Witnesses) that claims Jesus is a created being? Dive deep into verses like "In the beginning was the Word... and the Word was God" (John 1:1) and "The Word became flesh" (John 1:14) to see how Scripture affirms Christ's full divinity, co-eternality with the Father, and role as Creator — while also celebrating His humble birth as fully human.

This Christmas-season message explores:

- The soaring theology of John's prologue compared to the other Gospels

- How John destroys Arianism: "There was NEVER a time when He was not"

- The Hypostatic Union: Jesus as fully God and fully man

- Why only the God-Man can save us perfectly (no creature could!)

- Practical application: Bearing witness to the Light like John the Baptist and receiving Christ as Savior for "grace upon grace"

Perfect for anyone seeking biblical answers on who Jesus really is, the Trinity, Christmas meaning, or defending the faith against modern heresies.

Is the PCA Too White and Too Male?

Is the PCA Too Male and Too White? A Response to the New Petition | PCA, Race, Theology, and Church Unity

A new petition and “call to prayer and lament” has sparked intense debate within the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), alleging that the denomination is “too male and too white,” and plagued by racism, prejudice, and systemic exclusion. In this video, Pastor Matt offers a careful, charitable, but firm response—defending the PCA as a loving, confessional, gospel-centered denomination while critically examining the claims made in the petition.

In this episode, we address key questions such as:

  • Is the PCA truly marked by racism or systemic bigotry?
  • What does the Bible actually teach about racism, repentance, and forgiveness?
  • Are “microaggressions” evidence of a deeply unhealthy denomination?
  • Has the PCA failed minorities or women in leadership?
  • Is woke ideology and DEI language compatible with confessional Presbyterianism?
  • How should Christians think biblically about race, sin, power, and justice?
  • Does repentance “count,” and how many times must a denomination apologize?
  • Is the PCA gatekeeping leadership—or faithfully practicing Presbyterian polity?
  • Are confessionalism and theological clarity enemies of love and charity?

Pastor Matt walks through the petition line by line, responding to accusations about:

  • White male dominance
  • Minority exclusion
  • Women being sidelined
  • Confessional “rigidity”
  • LGBTQ and Side B language
  • Alleged demonization through denominational actions

This video is not a denial that sin exists, nor a refusal to pursue love, justice, and unity—but a call to ground those pursuits in Scripture rather than secular ideologies. It is also a defense of complementarianism, confessional fidelity, and the belief that the gospel truly forgives sin and brings real progress.

📘 New Book Mentioned:

Bold as a Lion: Christian Courage in an Age of Cowards is now available in paperback and ebook. A companion video playlist is also available for group study, with discussion questions for every chapter.

The Five Archetypes of Christian Courage: Disciple, Prophet, Philosopher, Warrior, Martyr

“The Righteous Are as Bold as a Lion” (Proverbs 28:1) | Biblical Courage vs Cowardice

What does it mean to be truly courageous as a Christian? Is fear always sinful—or is there a distinction between natural fear and sinful cowardice? In this in-depth teaching, we explore Proverbs 28:1:

“The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.”

This message continues Part Two of a study on courage and cowardice, drawing from Scripture, church history, and even classical philosophy to define biblical courage in contrast to fear of man, recklessness, and compromise.

📖 Key Topics Covered in This Sermon:

- The biblical difference between fear and sinful cowardice

- Why cowardice is listed as a damning sin in Revelation

- Four categories of fear:

- Irrational supernatural, irrational natural, rational natural, and rational supernatural

- Fear of man vs fear of the Lord

- Courage as a virtue affirmed by Scripture, Greek philosophy, and Christian theology

- Why courage is not recklessness, but faithful obedience

- A biblical definition of courage rooted in confidence in God’s saving power

Five archetypes of the courageous Christian life:

1. The Disciple (the courage to follow Christ)

2. The Prophet (the courage to speak truth)

3. The Philosopher (the courage to think clearly)

4.The Warrior (the courage to fight spiritual and ideological battles)

5. The Martyr (the courage to die faithfully if called)

Jesus Christ as the perfect example of courage in every category

🦁 Why This Teaching Matters:

In an age of cultural pressure, political intimidation, and spiritual compromise, Christians are often tempted to remain silent. This sermon calls believers to bold obedience, faithful thinking, courageous speech, and Christ-honoring action—without fear of man.

If you want to understand how the Bible defines courage, how Christians should respond to fear, and how Christ himself models perfect bravery, this message is for you.

📘 This teaching also draws from the themes developed in the book Bold as a Lion, which explores fear, courage, and Christian faithfulness in detail.

Confronting Spiritual Narcissists. [Sermon]. Romans 14:13-23.

Spiritual Narcissism & Christian Love | Romans 14:13–23 Sermon

What does the Bible teach about Christian liberty, church unity, and love for weaker brothers? In this sermon on Romans 14:13–23, we confront a subtle but dangerous sin in the church: spiritual narcissism.

Drawing from the Apostle Paul’s teaching on disputable matters—such as food sacrificed to idols—we discover how everyday choices can either build up the church or destroy the work of God. Through the lens of the cross of Christ, this message calls believers to walk in love, pursue peace, and resist self-centered Christianity.

Key Themes in This Sermon

  • Romans 14 explained verse by verse
  • Christian liberty vs. Christian love
  • The danger of spiritual narcissism in the church
  • “For whom Christ died” — understanding the atonement
  • Weak and strong consciences in Romans
  • Why church unity matters more than personal preferences
  • Walking in love, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit
  • How selfishness can destroy the work of God

Sermon Summary

Using the ancient myth of Narcissus as an illustration, this message exposes how believers can become overly focused on themselves—even in spiritual matters. Paul’s warning is sobering: “By what you eat, do not destroy the one for whom Christ died.” Every brother and sister in Christ is someone purchased by the blood of Jesus, and our conduct must reflect that reality.

This sermon will challenge you to:

  • Examine how your actions affect other believers
  • Reorder your loves according to biblical priorities
  • Live with the cross—not personal preference—at the center
  • Pursue peace and mutual upbuilding in the local church

Scripture Focus

📖 Romans 14:13–23

📖 Galatians 2:20

📖 Matthew 20:28

📖 John 10; John 17

Who This Message Is For

  • Christians struggling with church conflict
  • Believers wrestling with liberty and conscience
  • Pastors, elders, and church leaders
  • Anyone seeking deeper biblical unity and humility
