The CEO of an energy utility explains the systemic interdependencies – and what we as a society must do now. Cédric Christmann has been CEO of Primeo Energie since 2023. The company, headquartered in Münchenstein, canton of Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland, is a strong advocate for the energy transition – both regionally and internationally. Before becoming CEO, Cédric served as CFO and led the energy business of the cooperative. A dual citizen of Switzerland and France, he and his family live within the company’s supply area. With around 700 employees, Primeo Energie drives transformation across four business areas: electricity, grid operations, heat, and renewable energy – from production and trading to distribution and customer supply.
