Mountain Murders
Brittany Locklear
January 7, 1998 started like any other winter morning for five-year-old Brittany Lynn Locklear and her mother in Raeford, North Carolina — until it didn’t. Brittany, a bright and affectionate kindergartner known for her hugs and cheerful spirit, was waiting for her school bus at the end of her family’s driveway when her mother briefly stepped inside the house. In that short moment, Brittany vanished without a trace.

Hours later, Brittany’s belongings were found discarded along a rural road; the next day, her body was discovered in a drainage ditch miles from home. Despite hundreds of tips, interviews with witnesses, and decades of investigation, her abduction and murder remain unsolved.

Mountain Murders
Pazuzu Algarad
In this chilling episode of Mountain Murders, we dive into one of North Carolina’s most disturbing true crime cases — the twisted story of Pazuzu Algarad and Amber Burch. Behind the boarded-up doors of a suburban home in Clemmons lay a nightmare few could imagine: satanic rituals, human remains buried in the backyard, and a community gripped by fear and disbelief.

We unravel the dark descent of John Lawson — who renamed himself Pazuzu after a demon — and explore how his warped charisma drew in followers, including his girlfriend, Amber Burch. Together, they turned their home into a den of chaos, addiction, and death.

Join us as we peel back the layers of mental illness, manipulation, and moral decay that fueled this modern house of horrors — and ask how such evil could hide in plain sight.

Mountain Murders
The Haunting in Connecticut
This week on Mountain Murders, we’re diving into one of the most chilling and controversial haunting cases in American history — A Haunting in Connecticut. The 2009 horror film was inspired by the real-life experiences of the Snedeker family, who moved into a former funeral home in Southington, Connecticut, in the 1980s. Soon after settling in, they claimed to encounter terrifying paranormal activity — from ghostly apparitions to violent poltergeist attacks. But what’s fact, what’s fiction, and what really happened inside that house? Join us as we separate the Hollywood horror from the real-life mystery, explore the role of famed investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, and discuss the skeptical backlash that followed. Was the Snedeker haunting a genuine case of supernatural terror… or a cash grab much like the Amityville horror case.
