In this episode, Austin and Fernando discuss the terrifying story of the Axeman of New Orleans! For over a year, this evil figure stalked and attacked the citizens of New Orleans without any mercy! To this day, The Axeman of New Orleans is one of the most prolific serial killers to ever come out of this city!Let's talk about it!"When most people think of New Orleans, they tend to imagine things like Creole cuisine, the French Quarter, and of course, Mardi Gras. For many, the municipality represents a non-stop party and good times. However, despite these upbeat connotations, those who are familiar with the history of New Orleans will understand that this “carefree vibe” hasn’t always been the case. Among many other cases, one prime example of this can be found back in 1918.
Throughout this time, the City of New Orleans was gripped with fear for almost 18 months, as a crazed axe wielding maniac terrorized its citizens. Coming out only at night, the serial killer would typically strike when his victims were fast asleep in their bedrooms and only use weapons found on the victim’s property (usually an axe). By the end of his rampage, he would go on to kill 6 people and violently maim 6 others. As a result of his apparent weapon of choice, he was “creatively” dubbed: The Axeman.
The killing spree would begin on May 23rd, 1918, when married couple Catherine and Joseph Maggio were slain in their sleep at 4901 Magnolia Street. Tragically, the pair was eventually found in their bedroom by Joseph’s brothers, who became suspicious when they found that a panel was missing in the home’s front door. They then promptly informed law enforcement.
To their horror, investigators quicky realized that the couple had each been bludgeoned with their own axe (which was left at the scene) and then had their throats slit for good measure. Allegedly, Catherine’s wound to her neck was so bad, that she was nearly decapitated. Due to how grizzly the murders were, police hoped that this would be an isolated incident (unfortunately, they would get their answer a month later)..."

In this first part of our 2 part special, Austin and Fernando discuss the stories of some supernatural pets!We kick off the special with the sad and terrifying story of The Hound of Goshen in South Carolina. Legend has it, that one day back in the 1840s, a traveling tinware peddler (accompanied by his canine companion) came to the area in search of business. After spending a couple of days within the township, people around the area became slightly suspicious of the man. Purportedly, they believed him to be a bit odd. Unfortunately, at the same time that the public was growing weary of the salesman, a shocking murder was committed with no clear suspect. As a result of this, the community swiftly and collectively assigned blame to the mysterious stranger.Within days, the man was charged with murder and faced a trial. Sadly, the court proceedings were a sham, and he would ultimately be found guilty. When it came to sentencing, the judge was both quick and ruthless in his decision; the man’s sentence would be death by hanging.As the peddler sat in his jail cell and awaited his final day on Earth, his loyal pup sat just outside the window, refusing to leave his side. Occasionally, the dog would utter out a whimper, but his owner would gently hush him and assure him that everything was alright. Sadly, and inevitably, the day of his execution finally came.While accounts differ, the predominant opinion is that the hanging was not an easy one. According to many (and there were many people watching), the salesman’s final moments were filled with horrendous pain and suffering (as the hanging itself was apparently quite botched). Heartbroken, the mastiff watched as his master writhed with agony until he drew his last choking breath. Soon after, the man was buried in an unmarked plot. Ever loyal, his 4-legged companion lay at the foot of the grave and mourned the loss of his best friend with constant melancholic wails. Forlorn and afraid, the dog didn’t know what else to do, but to continuously howl sorrowfully for weeks on end. Horrifyingly, soon after this began to occur, the real murderer would go on to confess to the crime. Now, not only did this constant baying keep everyone in the town up at night, it also served as a constant reminder of their guilt and the horrible atrocity that they committed.One morning, with their conscience unable to take anymore, a man went up to the dog and dispatched it with a single gunshot. All that was left now, was an eerie silence and whatever thoughts were going through the man’s head. They say it was to put the dog out of its misery. However, most people agree it was done to stop reminding the individual, that they were partially responsible for the death of an innocent man.With the constant barking now having ceased, the town attempted to carry on and put this dark event behind them. In this episode, Austin and Fernando discuss the conspiracy ridden Denver International Airport! Allegedly, the airport contains all kinds of dark secrets. This includes everything from secret societies to aliens and everything in between! At first glance, many of these theories may appear to be absolutely bonkers. However, as the evidence begins to stack up, it may actually leave you wondering if something truly strange is actually occurring at this bustling airport in Colorado!Let's talk about it!Denver International Airport is located roughly 30 minutes outside of the city of Denver and sits on roughly 53 square miles of land. Because of the large swaths of property that the facility occupies, DIA is considered the largest airport in the United States. Equally as impressive, is the fact that the space sees approximately 78 million passengers per year. Despite this fact, however, DIA is actually only the 3rd busiest airport in the country (Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport is number 1 with 104.7 million).
As you can probably imagine, constructing such a superstructure requires plenty of resources and a lot of money. By the time the airport opened on February 29th, 1995, the project had set Colorado taxpayers (and to an extent, all taxpayers) back an eye-watering 4.8 billion dollars. Additionally, the transportation hub began operating a solid 16 months behind schedule.Oddly enough, when the facility opened its doors, the airport that it replaced (Stapleton Airport) was only the 20th busiest airport in the country. Even weirder, was the fact that that Stapleton Airport had just recently had major renovations done to it. From a business perspective, all of this money and work seemed to be a bit hard to justify. As a result, suspicious outsiders who had some time on their hands began to dive into some of the facts surrounding the project. Interestingly, they were able to uncover some rather perplexing information that led them to ask some questions. In this episode, Austin and Fernando discuss the alleged curse of The Exorcist movie! According to members of the cast and crew, a series of misfortune plagued many of the individuals who worked on The Exorcist production. This ranges from sets catching on fire all the way to cast and crew members losing their lives!
According to many of the people who worked on the film, there were multiple deaths that could be tied both directly and indirectly to development of The Exorcist. For example, both Jack McGowan (who played Burke Dennings) and Vasiliki Maliaros (who played Father Karras’ mother) passed away shortly after wrapping up filming of their respective parts. Eerily, both of their characters also died in the movie. Additionally, a set technician and night watchman also passed during filming. By now, talks of a potential curse on set were beginning to swirl.
Unfortunately, the suspected lethality of this movie was not just limited to those who physically worked on the production floor. Additionally, many of the actors lost very close family members during this period. This included Max Von Sydow’s brother (Sydow played Father Lankester Merrin), the assistant cameraman’s baby, and Linda Blair’s aforementioned grandfather. Furthermore, one of the radiographers (named Paul Bateson) went on to become a convicted murderer (and many believe that he was actually a serial killer).
To cap it all off, towards the end of filming, the production faced an extreme setback that came in the form of a massive fire. In the aftermath of the incident, the “MacNeil household” set was lost and had to be completely rebuilt. Oddly, the only part of the set that was completely untouched by the blaze was Regan’s room. In this episode, Austin and Fernando discuss the infamous Arial School UFO Incident. During this event, 62 witnesses claimed to have seen an alien space ship land in a field behind their school. Even more insane, is that they claim to have seen 2 aliens hop out of the ship and actually interact with them! Let's talk about some aliens!
On the night of September 14th, 1994, a series of thunderous bangs were heard emanating from the skies over Zimbabwe. The sound was so loud, that entire houses throughout the region physically shook, causing some items to fall off shelves and walls. After the noises had subsided, many concerned citizens cautiously peaked out of their homes and began to explore the surrounding area. After some light investigating, no one was able to pinpoint exactly what the source of the commotion was. However, that would soon change.
Two days later, on Friday September 16th in Ruwa, Zimbabwe, a large group of children were enjoying their morning recess in a field behind Ariel School (a prominent academy for grades 1-7). Shortly into their recess, many of the students began hearing a faint buzzing sound that continued to fade in and out and progressively got louder. At one point, the noise was so loud, that it actually began to physically affect the student’s (causing headaches and changes in mood).
At first, the students were unable to identify where the root of the buzzing was, as it seemed to be emitting from all around them. Then, the sound became more focused… it appeared that it was coming from the tree line just beyond the school property. Almost as soon as they realized this, the students noticed something else. A large metallic object with bright lights was in the process of descending below the foliage...

Such items supposedly include a time machine, the original Grand Grimoire (The Red Dragon), prophecies of the apocalypse, and even evidence that extraterrestrial/aliens exist!The Vatican Apostolic Archive (formerly known as the Vatican Secret Archive) is a central repository that houses over 600 archival fonds (or groups of documents). Altogether, there are over 50 miles worth of shelves that are filled to the brim throughout the facility. Interestingly, this includes a 2-story bunker beneath the archive building. Everything that sits upon these shelves is property of the Pope himself.“So, what exactly is included within these documents anyways?” you may find yourself asking. Well, according to the Archivio Apostolico Vaticano itself, the texts include information that pertains to “all acts promulgated by the Holy See”. In a nutshell, this is referring to any charters or forms that reference laws and rules that are enforced within the worldwide Catholic Church. Additionally, you’ll also find all kinds of state papers, account books, and correspondence between the pope and various figures, both within and outside of the church. Notable scriptures that are held within the archives include the following:-A letter from Michelangelo to Pope Julius II regarding wanting to work from home (tired of constant interruptions from the Pope during creative process)-Petition from Henry VIII requesting to annule his marriage with Catherine of Aragon in 1530 (which led to the creation of the Church of England)-Notes relating to the trial of Galileo in 1633 for holding the belief that the Earth revolves around the sun, which was deemed heretical by the Catholic ChurchAs interesting as these documents are, however, many people believe that these items are nowhere close to being the most tantalizing keepsakes held within the vast Vatican Archives. According to some folks, there are wonders locked deep inside this holy storage facility, that go far beyond what most people would ever believe to be possible (and may even have the ability to change the course of human history). These speculated curiosities include:-A device that can supposedly see anywhere in the past, present, and future-A book that allows the user to conjure the devil himself-Information on when the apocalypse will begin-And even documents that prove once and for all that aliens exist. In this episode, Austin and Fernando discuss the mysterious Phoenix Lights incident.
On March 13th, 1997, the night sky over Phoenix, Arizona looked pretty much the same as any other night. It was dark, it had a bit of an overcast, and the temperature was a nice balmy 72 degrees Fahrenheit. However, even though all seemed normal, hundreds of people were scanning the darkness of the night with tentative anticipation. Then, around 10pm, the reports began to flood in.
9 distinct bright lights were spotted floating high above the clouds and appeared to be in a V-shaped formation. The object made no noise, didn’t illuminate the ground, and was moving very slowly in a southerly direction over Phoenix. Most disconcerting of all, it appeared that these lights were a part of the same object, an object that was estimated by many to be over a mile long.
Then, almost as quickly as it had appeared over the city’s skyline, the mysterious object vanished into the night without a trace.
Over the coming days, inquiries poured into various law enforcement agencies regarding the eerie anomaly. At first, authorities were very quick to dispel the now rapidly growing rumors that it was in fact an “alien spacecraft” that had flown over the city that night. Instead, they proposed that everyone was just overreacting and that what they saw was a military exercise involving flares.
Unfortunately, there was one tiny problem with this claim… there were 700 witnesses who disagreed with it…
