E. 26 - How can we deepen communication with our children?
We all want to know how to build deeper communication with our children. We all want them to openly share things with us so we can know what's going on in their lives, and we want them to come to us when something bothers them.   Yet this doesn't always happen. Our children, especially when they are in their teenage years, tend to block us and even separate us from what is happening to them. And that can hurt and upset us very much. We feel that we're bad parents, that we're not supporting them enough... and unfortunately, if we're not careful, this can escalate and become a painful relationship.   But there are ways to avoid this. And in this episode, I spoke to Counsellor-Psychologist Stella Redman about one aspect of inter-personal communication that can make all the difference: Validation.   What validation is, and why it is the key to excellent communication, is all explained in the episode.   Happy listening!   You can find Stella and her wonderful work on her website:https://www.sredmancounselling.com/  And on LinkedIn:www.linkedin.com/in/stella-redman-psychology

E. 23 - On Life-Long learning
Not so many years ago, whenever I received a message like the one that landed in my WhatsApp the other day, I would shrink inside and carry a sour feeling in my stomach for days.   At best, I’d ignore it.At worst, I’d think I was far better than whatever was about to happen there.   And still - this time it happened again. My first reaction was the same: a contraction.   But today I know something I didn’t know back then:Feeling this contraction is part of nature’s survival mechanism. And today I also know how to give those difficult, paralysing feelings their space: Only after I breathed deeply, I looked at the message again—and suddenly I could see what this invitation might really have to offer me.   It wasn’t easy to get here. It’s something I agreed to learn.   I recorded a new and very frank podcast episode about this kind of learning: the one we keep doing all our lives, if only we’re willing.   I hope it'll talk to you.   Noa Brume

E. 21 - Your Story is your most Powerful Tool
Einat Moglad went through a period of grieving over her father twice in her life: Once when she was 15, and then over 20 years later. Her story of who she became and what she decided to do in her life, is an inspiration to us all, as we all have stories that can be told and create the path we'll take, even the professional part. Thank you Einat for sharing your story. E. 20 - The Unspoken Part of Giving Birth - With Tamar Shain Paz
What an incredible thing a new baby is! The house fills with the sweet scent of babies; everything feels soft, pleasant, and quiet, and we enjoy protecting and cuddling the little one.But childbirth also has another side. With the arrival of a baby can come emotional challenges and unmet needs, particularly for the mother, who tends to give her all to the baby. Strong tension can arise between the new parents, and if there are siblings in the picture, they too require their share of attention. Add hormones into the mix, and you have a situation that can be quite challenging to say the least. And if it’s a birth following a loss, then it’s an even more complex and delicate story for everyone involved. But this is something hardly anyone talks about. Which is why it’s so fortunate that people like Tamar Shein Paz exist — experts who specialise in supporting women and families in the days and months after welcoming a sweet baby into the world. My conversation with Tamar was nothing short of fascinating, and I hope you’ll share this episode with anyone who’s currently pregnant (no matter which pregnancy), and especially with anyone who’s recently given birth.   ******************To reach Tamar: Tamar Shain-Paz, woman, mother, anthropologist, postpartum doula. https://www.instagram.com/tamarshain/?hl=en https://www.tamarshainpaz.co.il/
