Nicki Minaj has sparked controversy with her growing support for President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, drawing backlash from fans and the Black community. At Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest, Minaj praised Trump and Vance, calling them "handsome" and "dashing," and described the administration as having "heart and soul." Her comments, especially a slip-up referring to Vance as an “assassin,” have led to intense scrutiny. Minaj’s political stance has evolved over the years, with past comments and actions suggesting a more neutral or critical position toward Trump, including in 2016 when she criticized him in her song "Black Barbies." Speculation about her shift in support has even linked it to her husband Kenneth Petty’s legal troubles. Despite the criticism, Minaj defended her right to express different opinions and deactivated her Instagram account following the backlash.
Join Music IV Breakfast host Octavia March, as we talk about Kendrick Lamar closed the international run of his record-breaking Grand National Tour with back-to-back shows at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium on December 10 and 11, 2025, following two sold-out nights in Melbourne. The Sydney finale included a surprise reunion with longtime collaborator ScHoolboy Q for a performance of their 2013 hit “Collard Greens,” marking a standout moment of the tour. The tour also amplified interest in Lamar’s Grammy-winning album GNX, which producers revealed was created from 80–100 songs developed since 2022, with contributions from Sounwave, Mustard, and Jack Antonoff. While rumors of a GNX deluxe edition continue, Lamar has not confirmed any release, leaving the tour’s historic finale as the latest milestone in his career.

Prosecutors later pointed to this behavior as potential witness tampering. Despite strong objections and a cease-and-desist from Combs’ team, Netflix says they secured the footage legally.

Cardi B is ending a two-year dry spell for female rappers on the charts with her second album, AM I THE DRAMA?. According to Kurrco and HITS Daily Double, the album is set to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 205,000 units sold — 90,000 of which are pure sales (CDs and vinyl).
This marks the first time a female rapper has topped the chart since Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 in 2023, which opened with nearly 230,000 units.
Initial projections placed Cardi’s first-week numbers between 125,000 and 150,000, but strong demand pushed that well above 200,000. It’s an especially notable comeback after a seven-year gap between albums, proving her star power remains strong.
While critics and fans are divided on the album’s quality, the commercial success speaks volumes: Cardi B is back.
However, the album’s release has stirred controversy. A track titled "Magnet" reignited Cardi’s feud with JT and Lil Uzi Vert, mocking their relationship and Uzi’s sexuality with harsh lyrics. JT responded with insults on social media, and Cardi clapped back with accusations involving abortions and private conversations.
JT has denied the claims, and the tension between the two artists continues to escalate.
In this episode of Music IV Breakfast, we break down Cardi B's highly anticipated comeback with her album Am I The Drama? Dive into an in-depth review of Cardi’s raw vulnerability, standout tracks, and genre-defying sound. We explore the drama surrounding Cardi's beef with BIA and JT, her struggles with Offset, and how she continues to dominate the music scene with her relentless hustle. If you're a fan of hip-hop, music reviews, and celebrity drama, this video is a must-watch! Join us as we unpack Cardi B’s powerful influence on the industry and why she's still on top.
