Overcoming the Tempter
Have you ever felt like you’re on the mountain top in one area of life, only to be in the deepest valley in another area?
How do you handle going from heaven’s approval, to hell’s attack?
The account of Jesus in the gospels being led in to the desert and tempted by Satan provides a clear and resounding example of understanding the right response and posture to have when we are at a low point and the enemy’s temptations come calling!!!!!
First of all, anchor yourself in the knowledge that being in the wilderness isn’t punishment, it’s preparation.

•Temptation of Pride

Jesus’ responds EVERY TIME with scripture, showing us that the way to combat the enemy’s lies and temptations is with the truth of the Word.
Our flesh won’t defeat the enemy.
Our emotions won’t defeat the enemy.
Our willpower don’t defeat the enemy.
SATAN IS DEFEATED BY THE INFALLIBLE WORD OF GOD
When he comes in with his whispered lies, offering all the treasures of this world, remember this:
You don’t need what the devil is offering, you serve a king who owns it all!!!!
Stand firm in the truth of the Word, resist the enemy, he will flee, and you will be strengthened in your faith!

Why Jesus?

Faith.
It is the currency of God’s Kingdom. Without it, it’s not only impossible to please the Lord but it’s impossible to fulfill God’s plan for your life. Our faith is built on our belief. What we really believe about God’s Word shows not in what we say, but in our actions.
Faith not only speaks, it moves, alive and active. Challenge yourself to speak ONLY faith based truths, based on what God’s Word says. The profession of your mouth creates the reality of your life.
Do not allow the devil to deplete your faith and steal your confident trust in the promises of God’s Word!!!
What does the Lord want you to let go of?
Truthfully, most of us have built monuments in our lives to people or things other than God.
If our desire is to live obedient to Christ and His Word, we must surrender everything we have to Him.
The cost for an anointed, Holy Ghost led life is high. Our pain can be turned to purpose, and suffering to salvation; but only when it’s given unto the Lord.
Examine your heart today, are you living a lifestyle rife with self sufficiently, ego, pride, lust, and so on? What is in your heart that you may not want to let go of, but you know you need to give up?
Don’t delay, not even another day, set everything aside for the sake of Christ, and step in to the kind of life that can be found only in Him!!!!!!

Yet in His great mercy Jesus stepped into time, and extended His unfathomable grace and invited us into salvation.
Because HE is good, He chose to offer us a way out of our sin and utter desolation. Our hope for life eternal is rooted in Jesus Christ alone!!!
