33. Is Home A Feeling Or A Place?
How do you define the idea of “home?” Is it by the way you decorate your place or the furnishings you have? Maybe home to you is using your favorite coffee machine every morning and drinking your cup outside on your patio. Or maybe it’s not through physical things and rather the feeling you receive when you’re spending a night out with your besties. Either way is 100% right! I’m sharing today how my perception of home has changed over the years. How it started as purely a feeling and how I’m transitioning into finally having a space to call “home.” If you’re of the mindset that home is more of a feeling rather than a physical place than you’ll totally relate to this episode. We’re discussing how moving around for majority of your life can skew with your sense of belonging and idea of “home.” Furthermore we’re looking at the research as to how these feelings of displacement can actually affect our ability to develop and maintain social connections. Don’t forget to reach out to me on Instagram and/or TikTok and share with us what your idea of home is and what you do to foster that feeling. Side note: now that I’ve listened back to this audio while holding my mic… It’s absolute trash! So I apologize for the audio quality. Idk what got into me this episode or why I thought holding my mic rather than keeping it on it’s stand was a great idea. No problemo though, I will be back to being a professional podcaster next episode. XO friends!
