Ep. 14: JOFFRE SWAIT | How to Build a Prosperous Sub-Culture
There exists a prevalent tendency to exclusively think of culture building at a macro level—thinking through big civilizational questions, but without an idea of what it takes to build culture in the actual and everyday arenas of life. In this episode, Lennox Kalifungwa is joined by Joffre Swait for an inspiring conversation about building micro-cultures. They also delve into their experiences as third-culture kids and the opportunity that has afforded them to think of building culture. Ep. 13: DAVID TALCOTT | You Can’t Afford to Be Ignorant of Greek Philosophy
The modern West suffers not from a lack of information, but from a collapse of memory. We argue fiercely about politics, culture, and truth while forgetting the intellectual architecture that once taught us how to think in the first place. The history of thought—especially the history of philosophy—has quietly slipped from the modern mind. When a civilization loses touch with its intellectual ancestry, it loses the categories necessary to reason, to judge, and to learn from its own successes and failures. Greece understood this well. Long before the modern state or the modern university, Greek philosophers asked the most enduring questions: What is truth? What is justice? What is the good life? And how should a people order themselves accordingly? In this episode, Lennox Kalifungwa is joined by Dr. David Talcott, Fellow of Philosophy and Graduate Dean at New Saint Andrews College, for a penetrating conversation on what ancient Greek philosophy can still teach America today. From the formation of reason and virtue to the dangers of intellectual amnesia, this discussion traces how Greek thought shaped Western civilization—and why recovering it may be essential to our cultural renewal. If we wish to think clearly, govern wisely, and live meaningfully, we must first remember where our thinking came from. Ep. 12: BRYAN AUTON | Chick-Fil-A and the Pursuit of Excellence
At the heart of Christian culture—and free markets—is excellence: the disciplined, beautiful, God-honoring work that builds trust, prosperity, and genuine freedom. When nations forget God, excellence collapses into consumerism, entitlement, and dependence, leaving technocrats and the State to fill the void with coercion and decay. Scripture teaches that ownership, responsibility, and craft are gifts meant to cultivate generational fruitfulness. In an age discipled by consumption rather than creation, Christians are called to rebuild—boldly and beautifully—through character, diligence, and love. In this episode, Lennox welcomes Bryan Auton to discuss how Christian excellence transforms institutions, markets, communities, and the world. Ep. 11: KATY FAUST | The Sexual Revolution Was a Death Cult
The Sexual Revolution didn’t free anyone—it fractured a civilization. In this episode, Lennox Kalifungwa is joined by Katy Faust, who dismantles the lies of feminism, gender ideology, IVF culture, and the assault on marriage and family. They expose how the revolution produced child victimization, fatherlessness, moral collapse, and a society addicted to self-worship. Katy reveals how every cultural battle—from abortion to surrogacy to transgenderism—comes down to one thing: adults demanding sacrifices from children. Ep. 10: JASON FARLEY | Laughter and Living in the Cosmos
Oftentimes, our perceptions of the world are too small. And when we fall prey to this, we tend to miss the categories that enable us to learn, love, laugh, and live. In this episode, Lennox Kalifungwa is joined by Jason Farley to discuss how people ought to live in the moment, given to us by God, as free individuals who can create and build. Ep. 9: DAVID GOODWIN | How the West Lost Its Will to Fight
The West has lost its will to contend for the good, numbed by guilt, confusion, and educational collapse. Entertainment and schooling—our modern liturgies—have reshaped loyalties and hollowed cultural resolve. As the project A Nation at Risk warned, mediocrity has become a form of self-inflicted disarmament. Secularized education now relativizes truth, mocks Christian faith, and forms citizens unable to resist tyranny or build anything lasting. The crisis is fundamentally a war against truth—and therefore against Christianity. Only a robust Classical Christian Education, rooted in Scripture and the fear of the Lord, can produce courageous leaders who confront evil, cultivate excellence, and rebuild civilization. In this episode, Lennox Kalifungwa is joined by David Goodwin to discuss the role classical Christian education plays in building civilizations. Ep. 8: LARRY TAUNTON | Don’t Trust the United Nations, USAID, and WEF
Why are so many Third-World nations still poor and corrupt, even after billions in foreign aid? From the UN and World Economic Forum to USAID and global NGOs, powerful elites push “progressive” policies that sound good but destroy freedom, faith, and prosperity. In this explosive episode, Lennox Kalifungwa and Larry Taunton reveal how leftist ideology quietly shapes global policy and traps developing nations in a cycle of control and dependence. They’ve seen it firsthand. Now, they’re pulling back the curtain. Watch to uncover who’s really running the Third World—and why true liberty starts with truth. Ep. 7: MITCH STOKES | When Atheists Can’t Do the Math
Over the past two centuries, a series of erroneous ideas have taken root—chief among them the claim that faith is inferior to reason, and that the two stand in opposition. This has been accompanied by the notion that science has rendered God unnecessary, establishing itself as the ultimate arbiter of truth—untainted, we are told, by metaphysical assumptions. Yet upon closer scrutiny, every scientific endeavor rests upon philosophical and theological presuppositions that shape both its method and its purpose. Mathematics and logic themselves presuppose a universe in which order, intelligence, and design are woven into the very fabric of reality. In this episode, Lennox Kalifungwa is joined by Dr. Mitch Stokes to discuss the relationship between philosophy, faith, reason, and science. Ep. 6: JOE BOOT | Think Like a Christian, Not a Pagan
In this episode, Lennox Kalifungwa is joined by Dr. Joseph Boot to discuss the necessity of living with a distinct cosmology that is fundamentally and robustly Christian. The church’s failure to think in clear categories and discern good from evil consigns surrounding cultures to ruin. To think in a distinctly Christian fashion is the foundation of freedom and prosperity. In order for the West to recover and replenish its glory, it must begin not just by making Christian references but by thinking in Christian categories. Ep. 5: JOHN LEWIS | Is College Necessary for Career Success?
College used to be a forge for wisdom and virtue. Now it’s a factory of debt and disillusionment. For millions, the “dream” of higher education has turned into a nightmare—high tuition, empty promises, and minds poisoned by ideology. The old formula — go to college, get a job, live the dream — doesn’t work anymore. The system is broken. Modern academia no longer forms thinkers or builders; it manufactures cynics and conformists. But there’s a better way. In this episode, Lennox Kalifungwa sits down with John Lewis, a 2004 graduate of New Saint Andrews College, former Goldman Sachs professional, and now Founder & CEO of Beam Reach, a thriving real estate investment firm. Lewis embodies what true education should do: train leaders who think clearly, build boldly, and shape culture for generations to come. He shares how NSA’s classical, Christ-centered education gave him the tools to solve complex problems and build successful institutions. Ep. 4: BEN ZEISLOFT | Confronting a World that Loves to Murder Children
The leading cause of death in the United States and many other places across the world is the murder of pre-born children. Those charged to protect good and punish evil are often themselves architects of death—promoting, celebrating, and legislating infanticide in the name of women’s rights. In this conversation, Lennox Kalifungwa is joined by Ben Zeisloft to discuss a subject that deserves attention and action. Ep. 3: CHAD O. JACKSON | Civil Rights Propaganda and Lies about MLK Jr.
In 2020, when riots erupted after the death of George Floyd, a moment of reckoning took place. That event shook the trees and revealed what people truly believed. It exposed the compromise of many evangelicals who were found to have—whether inadvertently or intentionally—bought into cultural Marxism, embracing the popular narratives of systemic black oppression, police brutality, and the illusion that the blue side of the American political system is pro-black and anti-racist. These blatant lies have become the assumed narrative in much of the world today. Although proponents of woke ideology have overplayed their hand, their dogma still permeates many influential institutions. In this conversation, Lennox Kalifungwa is joined by Chad O. Jackson to discuss how history has been revised to accommodate false narratives, how Marxism has poisoned society, and why Martin Luther King Jr. is dishonestly revered as a hero. Ep. 2: DOUGLAS WILSON | The Protestant Work Ethic Built the Best Economies
The greatness of Western Civilization was enabled and realized through the application of Christian cosmology, which sought to propagate truth, beauty, and goodness in all things. One of the pillars of this civilizational flourishing was the Protestant work ethic, recovered during the time of the Reformation. This recovery restored a high view of vocation and established the principle that all work matters to God and carries eternal significance. Work is not to be seen as a necessary evil or a mere consequence of the Fall. Man was created to work—created to exercise dominion over the world he was given, seeking to be fruitful in all things. Lennox Kalifungwa is joined by Doug Wilson to discuss this all-important subject. To learn more about New Saint Andrews College, go to https://nsa.edu

Season 2 Episode 1: VODDIE BAUCHAM | Only Christianity Prospers Culture and Civilization
This present moment in America is an opportunity we ought not miss. The assassination of Charlie Kirk was a tragic moment that will long live in infamy, but in God’s providence, it could well be the spark that ignites reformation and revival. The question is, how do we now live? What does a life of true meaning and purpose look like? Christ the King has given us a mandate to disciple the nations and establish His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Some of the tools God gives His ambassadors in this cause are truth and speech. These tools are the substance for shaping culture. Cultures rise and fall to the degree to which they either embrace or reject Christ. In this American moment, the goal should be to proclaim Christ, speak the truth boldly, give a reason for the hope that is in you, and be salt and light in all the spaces God has placed us in. Having lived in two of the same countries and being involved in the same work for several years, Lennox Kalifungwa and Voddie Baucham sit down for an insightful conversation about culture, suffering for truth, Marxism, and patriarchy. Ep. 25: JOE RIGNEY | Galvanizing Men for War | Of Flames and Crowns Season Finale
We are in the midst of a cosmic war. We need men prepared to stand on the front lines, ready to crush the heads of serpents, to take the heads of giants, to incinerate idols to dust. Men who will not flinch in the face of fire and darkness, who fear nothing but God and the dishonor of His name. We need men who are a threat to evil and chaos—a righteous nuisance to all that stands against the light. Men who, at a moment’s notice, are ready to take up arms to defend truth, goodness, and beauty. Men who can laugh in the face of turmoil, raising their melodic voices in defiance, knowing that their King is undefeated, even if they themselves fall honorably. We need men who are ready to raise the sails and hoist the flag, for King, for Kingdom, and for eternity. In this season finale, Lennox Kalifungwa is joined once again by Dr. Joe Rigney to discuss the art of inspiring, encouraging and equipping men to engage in the cosmic battles they have been called by God to fight and win. Ep. 24: BEN MERKLE | The State Is Not Your Father
Where tyranny reigns, weak men lie at its feet. They’ve abandoned their post—no longer leading their homes, protecting their families, or standing firm for their churches. Instead, they cling to the State like orphans, begging it to do the work they were called to do: to build, to guard, to rule. The result is predictable—freedom dies, vice thrives, and culture rots. A nation of emasculated men will never be free. What we need are men with spines—men who wield strength, courage, and conviction to crush evil and cultivate good. In this episode, Lennox Kalifungwa is joined once again by NSA President Dr. Ben Merkle to talk about raising men in an age that neuters them, the power of multigenerational faithfulness, and how households can become the frontlines in the war against tyranny. Ep. 23: JARED LONGSHORE | Imposing and Legislating Christian Morality
In a world hellbent on evicting God from public life, a question echoes with increasing confusion: Would a God of love really force someone to do what they don’t want to do? What happened to “free choice,” “individual liberty,” and all the other slogans we’ve enshrined? Today, many cling to the myth that law is born from some serene, secular neutrality—hammered out in the halls of diplomacy and burnished by the gentle hand of humanism. But scratch beneath the polished veneer and you’ll find that neutrality is a fairy tale, and tolerance is more marketing slogan than moral principle. Our age will legislate morality all day long—just not Christian morality. Because if there's one thing secularism finds utterly intolerable, it's a truth that won't budge. Christianity is the last great stumbling block, the immovable standard that refuses to bless delusion, flatter vice, or baptize the latest trend in moral relativism. In this episode, Lennox Kalifungwa is joined by Dr. Jared Longshore—who serves both as Undergraduate Dean and Fellow of Theology at New Saint Andrews College and as Associate Pastor at Christ Church in Moscow, Idaho. A seasoned shepherd in the pulpit since 2007, Dr. Longshore holds both an MDiv and PhD from Southern Seminary. He’s authored such hard-hitting titles as Wisdom for Kings and Queens, Strong and Courageous: Following Jesus Amid the Rise of America's New Religion, and The Case for the Christian Family. Ep. 22: GORDON WILSON | Does God Believe in Climate Change?
In a world gripped by climate panic, environmentalism has become a new religion—and its doomsday prophets dominate the global stage. But is the threat as real as we're told, or is something deeper at play? In this episode, Lennox Kalifungwa is joined by Dr. Gordon Wilson, Senior Fellow of Natural History at New Saint Andrews College and creator of The Riot and the Dance. Together they explore the theological roots of climate alarmism, the billion-dollar industry it fuels, and why biblical dominion offers a better way to love and steward the earth. Drawing from his book A Different Shade of Green, Dr. Wilson calls Christians to reject fear-based propaganda and recover a joyful, thankful, and faithful approach to creation. Ep. 21: ANDY NASELLI | Teaching Theology through Stories
Children need more than entertainment—they need stories that shape their souls. When rooted in sound theology, stories become vessels of truth, carrying the mighty works of God to the next generation. Theology was never meant to remain locked in ivory towers, nor storytelling confined to shallow sentimentality. Together, they forge a powerful tool for cultural and spiritual renewal. In this episode, Lennox Kalifungwa is joined by Andy Naselli—a theologian, preacher, and soon-to-be pastor who lives at the intersection of doctrine and imagination. Andy is Professor of Systematic Theology and New Testament at Bethlehem College and Seminary in Minneapolis and is preparing to step into the role of lead pastor at Christ the King Church in Stillwater. Ep. 20: CHRISTINE COHEN | Every True Story Is a Christian Story
What will it take for Christians to reclaim their place as the world’s leading storytellers? The Inklings—Lewis, Tolkien, and their circle—once set the gold standard, crafting tales so rich in meaning they transcended religious and philosophical divides. Why? Because all great stories, at their core, reflect the way God made the world—with truth, beauty, and goodness woven into their fabric. On this episode of Of Flames and Crowns, Lennox Kalifungwa sits down with Christine Cohen, author of The Winter King and The Sinking City. A proud mother of three, Christine is not only a gifted novelist but also a seasoned editor and teacher of the writing craft. She is a graduate of New Saint Andrews College and holds the distinction of being the first-ever graduate—and now director—of the Camperdown MFA program. Together, they explore how Christians can recover a vision of wonder, wield words with wisdom, and write stories that leave a lasting mark on culture.
