小常識
西方有許多附家具的公寓，所以，出差或出國留學時，甚至可以不用買任何家具，只是這樣的房子，房租多少會貴一些。若發現窗簾或床單髒污，或是家具破損得不堪使用，就應該立刻向房東反映，請他們幫你更換。在美國租房子是很容易的，只要稍微在住宅區轉一圈，就可以看到空屋出租的告示，報紙上也有很多租屋廣告。

注意，千萬不要把a terrific place(一個很棒的地方)誤說 成a terrible place(一個糟透了的地方)，雖然terrific 和 terrible的字源同為名詞terror(恐怖)，但它們的意思卻完全 相反。

The food was good but the service was terrible.
(東西很好吃，可惜服務態度很糟。)

reasonable 的意思是「價格公道、合理的」，cheap則給人 「廉價」的感覺，有時真的很難區別。如果不知如何取捨，乾脆就用 reasonable吧，reasonably則是它的副詞。
This car over here is more reasonably priced.
(這邊這輛車子的定價比較合理。)
Well, the price may be reasonable, but I simply can't afford it.
(價錢是很公道，但我就是付不起。)
