Winner of the 2025 American Writing Awards Podcast of the Year in Fiction and the 2024 Positive Change Podcast Awards for Best Host and Best Book Podcast. Tune in to be introduced to new and upcoming authors in a wide variety of fiction genres - from historical to fantasy to mystery to thriller to romance – as well as inspirational memoirs. Online for Authors is the only podcast with a host that personally reads and reviews indie-written fiction and inspirational/memoirs for avid readers who want to add books for their TBR beyond what they can find on the NYT best sellers list. As an award-winning host, Teri M Brown’s goal for Online for Authors is to introduce avid readers to characters they’d like to invite to lunch. If you read more than 40 books per year and want to veer away from the NYT Best Seller’s List or want to expand beyond your preferred genre, Online for Authors can help you discover novels written by Indie-Authors to add to your to-be-read list. Teri M Brown is an author of character-driven fiction and lives for the moments her characters speak their stories to her. Recognizing that other authors also have interesting lives and reasons for writing, Teri uses Online for Authors as a space for these authors to shine. Avid readers listening to Online for Authors will have the opportunity to discover new authors, amazing characters, and “can’t stop reading” stories. If you are looking for the next book on your “to be read” pile, then this is the podcast for you. Listen as authors discuss their latest work (no spoilers!), the impetus behind the storyline, how/where/why they write, what’s coming up next, and more! These conversations are in-depth because, unlike many hosts, Teri takes the time to read and review each novel before interviewing her guests. She believes that by doing so, she can guarantee a good fit for her audience as well as an interesting and inquisitive interview. Additionally, the first Saturday of each month, Teri releases what she affectionately calls OFAU – Online for Authors University. These once-monthly episodes feature writing tips for authors in all stages of their careers and speaks directly to her desire to mentor others. Whether someone wants to know about editing, marketing, book awards, being a guest on a podcast, or how notebooking can help you overcome writer’s block, writers and aspiring writers will find useful tips to move their writing to the next level. Unseen Patients: A Thriller of Spirits and Secrets with Author Scott Eveloff
My guest today on the Online for Authors podcast is Scott Eveloff, author of the book Do Not Resuscitate. Scott Eveloff, MD is a physician living in Overland Park Kansas, having served the medical needs of far-flung towns in rural Missouri for greater than thirty years while actively publishing his perspectives on ethics in medicine. He has published extensively in the medical literature, having authored or co-authored 24 articles and book chapters. He has also authored and published a book detailing the first tumultuous years of his son’s life, Both Sides of The White Coat (People With Disabilities Press, 2000, 127 pages). Such extraordinary experiences as both a physician and parent of a medically complex child have been picked up and published by media as distant as England. His work has also earned him appearances on ABC’s 20/20 Medical Mysteries, ABC News Nightline, and on the Dr. Oz show. Dr Eveloff has remained a passionate advocate for the disabled. Many characters in his novels were inspired by his son’s life and attitude, and are tributes to the dignity that the disabled deserve but often do not receive.   Besides his passion for patient advocacy and compassion in today’s intimidating medical world, Dr. Eveloff’s interests include World War II, the Jewish experience in the Holocaust, and the supernatural. Out of such varied interests have sprung two books, Do Not Resuscitate (Black Rose Writing) and The Golem’s Holocaust (Histria Books), the latter fiction reimagining strange coincidences of history by combining actual events with a mythological creature. Although Dr. Eveloff has indulged his love of writing with a focus on writing outside of medical subject matter, he also continues to submit and publish articles on the state of medicine and patient care.   In my book review, I stated Do Not Resuscitate is an intense medical thriller. We meet Harry, an intern who finds himself on the wrong side of deaths that appear to be medical errors - his medical errors. He believes he may be a witness to an angel of death and suspects his resident. But everything turns sideways when he begins hearing and seeing the dead.   In addition to dealing with his own grief from the loss of his newborn child, his wife's grief, and the long hours of being an intern, Harry wonders if he is losing his mind. After meeting an elderly doctor, he realizes he has stumbled into something otherworldly - and it will be up to him to save innocent patients - and even those he loves.   Will he be able to get others to believe that the dead are stealing bodies by using modern resuscitation techniques? More importantly, will he be able to create a plan to stop the madness?   This book will keep you on the edge of your seat - and is a must read for any medical thriller enthusiast!   Subscribe to Online for Authors to learn about more great books! https://www.youtube.com/@onlineforauthors?sub_confirmation=1   Join the Novels N Latte Book Club community to discuss this and other books with like-minded readers: https://www.facebook.com/groups/3576519880426290   You can follow Author Scott Eveloff Website: https://scotteveloff.com/ X: @writersblockdoc LinkedIn: Dr. Eveloff FB: @scott.eveloff IG: @docsee22   Purchase Do Not Resuscitate on Amazon: Paperback: https://amzn.to/46QbGxP Ebook: https://amzn.to/3IqwuCW   Teri M Brown, Author and Podcast Host: https://www.terimbrown.com FB: @TeriMBrownAuthor IG: @terimbrown_author X: @terimbrown1   Want to be a guest on Online for Authors?
