Thinking about moving the race to a warmer month. Mainly for safety purposes. I understand its risky in Jamuary to sign up and possibly drive to the race, since weather so unpredictable that time of year. also I know people dont sign up because of the unpredictability, course conditions, temperatures ect.... so the other the other reason in moving is to try to bring in more people so we can raise more money for the fire company.

Didnt have it. Was running good all week in training then today happens o well. Half course wss covered in snow/ice half wasnt. Wore trail trainers, should have worn road trainers wpudl ha e k ocled a minute off if i did. The clear parts really kocked my butt woth trail shoes, they were just to heavy and beat legs up, i could tell it was wrogn choice. Though before race when drove around course thought it was correct choice and i could make up time on covered parts. But nope. Gave up round mile 2. Knew didnt have it in me to catch 1st. Almost got cuaght by 3rd having pulled back to much. Did have good traction though whole time just a little disapointed in myself. Doubt cpuld jave won either way. But it shpuld have been lot closer and i should have been in the mid to low 19s at least time wise. Felt like i ran worse this year then last year when i was actually sick, when got to race last year i started not feeling good fornsoem reason it like me as pulled in then had flu for 2 weeks so last year while time was worse still flet like ran better. Hope that makes sense. Still good to get put and race. Wasnt cold at all. Body has adapted well this winter to the cold. Pooped 3 times before race started today twice at home and once at race. It eas going thru me maybe that is what was wrong with me. That and breakfast toaster pastries

Think the race went well. People seemed to enjoy it and enjoy themselves. People enjoyed what I did with the arch and for awards. Conditions were not perfect but the roads were dry. Still would like to make a few changes, more so tweaks then complete changes. Alot more details in video.

"250" Indivual Race Victories
Thats right today I acheived something absolutely amazing. Won my 250 individual race that number includes road, trail, obstacle course and adventure type races. The number does not include team or relay, purely invidual.
How many people can actually say that in the world??? Not many I can assure you that. More so over so many distances and styles.
I only started running competetivly at age 32 im 42 now, so over a 10 year span I somehow amazingly achieved this accomplishment.
I do consider myself more lucky then good when it comes to winning a race because you never know who will or wont show up at a race. I know im not that fast or ever will be the fastest person but I have managed to get the job done 250 times.
Thank you to all my supporters over the years wether that be family, friends, or bystanders. The running community has given me alot and I hope to give back more in the end then I have received.
To the haters no matter what yins do or say to take try and take me down im still gonna do me because in the end "Only I Can Defeat Me".

Finished 1st Overall. This win gave me #250 lifetime race wins. So a very cool feat to have accomplished.
this race was 3 laps of a 1 mile course at a local park in Lower Burrell, PA. Nice event. I won Bumbles Jingle Job 5k 1st Overall 25lb weight plates which I'll put to good use.
The course had a nice mix. Even ice in some spots. I actually went and videoed the course after finishing.
It started off as a slow week but weekend allowed me to redeem the rest. won my race amd acheieved 250 lifetime wins. Went to Tomahawks game as well.

Book was disappointing. There was not much substance to it. there was more talk of who he met during races and people then he knows then any real details. The guy was already a fast accomplished Runner wh turned i to a Ultra Runner. The story does tell his journey from his first trail race to going to The UTMB world championships.
The best part of the story was him tlakimg about Zack Miller whom he seems to have a man crush on. I am fan of Zack a fellow Pennsylvania guy. besides the Zack talk I hard a hard time following the book. The author missed the mark by telling in more detail what happened at races.
The narrators accent dodnt do anythig. to make ot more exciting at all.

Yes we held the race and did not cancel due to weather and having no timer. We got it done. Was it smart, you can question that all you want to. As I state on the registration page we will not cancel unless there is a state of emergency. I kept my word. Its one of those things where I'm dammed if I do and dammed if i dont. I know other races canceled the night before and some, even in the morning. I could not cancel the night before because there was no way to tell if roads were going to be good or not in the morning. There was no way to predict that penndot wouldnt do much to clear roads by morning. If they did get roads cleared and I cancelled night before then id get bitched at. But since I didnt cancel and roads wernt the greatest i get bitched at for having it, because people say it wasnt safe. Well there was no state of emergency and roads were not perfect so that means everyone had to make the adult decision whether or not to drive and participate. The course itself was amazingly taken care of by the Borough and Township they had it almost bone dry at one point. So course itself was safe. We had plans in place for the cold and had tons food and hot liquids. Having timer cancel at 820 is what threw the real wrench into plans thats when things fell apart some. That almost made me cancel it but at 820 it was to late to do so because people were already on the road coming to the race. So I had to figure out how to use my phone to accurately do it on the fly. It worked well but took away from the extras I do at a race such as videoeing, taking pictures and clips and didnt end up hanging up stuff on arch because there was no reson to since they were for esthetic purposes in pictures and clips. Also didnt get to take pictures of award winners and talk to participants like I normally would. So alot of things had to be shuffled around. Was a huge pain to figure out awards once race was over but got it done, I didnt get to input names into phone so it was only stopwatch basically and had to use paper to wrote names and times down and placement then figure out from placement what award they got. Ill admit was huge cluster fuck. We got it done though.

Shit show performance at a race was overdue to happen. Today was the day I paid that bill. I never got going, felt tight whole time, and never got zoned in. Even on the way to the race I didnt pumped up.
Planned to let the feild dictate pace to start, then after the hill at the start then go harder but again never got going and my gears were all switched up. Seemed like every time I tried to shift up it actually shifted down. Really pissed and disappointed at myself how it went. Seemed like I was breathing fine just couldn't get legs or spirit to go. This is gonna piss me off for the next week. I could complain all day but yea. Can't always have a good race.

Cams 2nd book is just as good as his 1st. It kept me locked in the entire time. Its a series or stories within a story if that malkes sense. he is teeling his own life story while at the same time talking about some his favorite people his "outliers" as he calls them.Cam adds in numerous special people telling thier story as well which makes them great. if you ever listened to Cams podcast youll recognize the names he uses such as Sally, Courtney, Waddell, Roy, ectt..these were all people that have been on his podcast. He ties them into his life story and tell you what makes them great in his own words.
Ive heard all thier stories before but the way he tells them is different so its not boring hearing them for the 2nd or 3rd time.
The book itself is amazing and with Cam actually reading it adds to the specialness of it. Him reading it allows his emotion to be put into it as he intended it to be. Not only does he talk about his outliers but je also talks ablut his family soem as well which also tied the stories together. You will most certainly want to read or listen to the book.
