A Message of Encouragement, Hope, and Challenge for the new year
This message finally gets into what has, over the centuries of the church, become the first or second most debated of all topics - the gifts of the Spirit. As I always do, we are going to let God the Holy Spirit speak for Himself. Some on both sides of this argument will hate it, and I really do not care. The Holy Spirit spoke clearly on the essentials. "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."
From the Scripture, we know the Holy Spirit is fully God and indwells all true Christians from the point of our salvation. We also know indwelling is not "filling". This message continues the one from last week to examine what the Bible says about "fillings".
If the indwelling is the presence of the Holy Spirit, then how do we define the His “filling”? Are they the same as some suggest?
Now it gets personal! This message begins our study of the Holy Spirit in our lives as Christians.

Last week this series moved from Re-introducing God to Re-introducing Jesus. I let Jesus speak for Himself as we examined three places He stated clearly who He is. The first revelation to a Samaritan woman was the most shocking. Tonight we move to the most important question He asked His disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” We examine the one answer He received and the difficult instructions and commands Jesus gave them that apply to all of us who say we are Christians. Does that include you?
My last two messages let GOD speak for Himself to instruct us Who He is and What He did to prove His love for mankind. This week the incarnate Son of God takes center stage. I let Jesus speak for Himself as He answers the question all will answer sooner or later! Who do you say that I am?
