To celebrate Jimpster coming to play at the next OPEN, we decided to put together a mix paying tribute to one of his record labels Freerange Records. At the time of posting this mix, there are 312 releases on the label, and next year the label will have been running for 30 years. Between Lee and Ash, we have over 150 of the releases on the label so picking an hour's worth was very difficult so there may be more Freerange Records tribute mixes in the future. We've put together 15 tracks from the label from over the years, and we missed out a lot more. A note from Lee - Personally, Freerange is a favourite label of mine. Not only that Jimpster is easily in my top three djs too. The upcoming event is one I am excited for, and I really hope to see you all and have a dance with you. Back in 2015, I had the honour of warming up for Jimpster at an event in London. Since that party, we've stayed in touch and become friends. For this mix we wanted to do something different. We have been seeing quite a few posts mentioning these tracks and artists, so decided to host our own tribute to the amazing SIESTA Music. In the early 2000's I was almost fanatical about the 'west coast sound'. H-Foundation were residents at London's Fabric and it felt like a great time for House Music here in the UK. Now 25 years on, I wanted to re-visit my love for this label. I pulled all of the releases from my record collection and put a select few at random together into this hour long mix. DEC 2024: As the year draws to a close, we wanted to reflect on some of the great music we picked up in 2024. At the same time, we also pulled some great tracks from the racks released in the last quarter of a century. The mix, starts as a typical deep house sound and builds through tracks and remixes from our favourite artists past and present such as; Fred P, Mike Delgado, Rick Wade, Byron the Aquarius, Karizma and more. As always, the mix was recorded live across 3 turntables using Traktor DVS. We find this is the best solution at home for playing the latest digital files & vinyl as well as older tracks from our collections. This track selection is typical of the sound we love from the wide spectrum of house music. We try to encompass and play across the spectrum of house music at our parties.
