In this chapter, aside from our usual book discussions, we conduct a segment of ping-ponging through book-related hot takes. It was a very fun and insightful activity to expound on, and we hope to do it again, so please share any hot take topics you might hope we discuss next time!

We are thrilled to welcome our first author onto the podcast, Terri Stephens-Higgins! Terri is the author of the children's book, Bella Bean on Blueberry Lane: The Puppy Wonder. In our interview with her, Terri shares her personal, challenging journey of battling cancerous brain tumors. In addition, she was very transparent about her lifelong struggles with mental and emotional health. This ended up becoming a very central theme of her writing in her book. We are very grateful to have had her on to hear her story, and we hope that others may find interest and commonality in her, and Bella Bean's, story! If you are interested in purchasing a copy of her book for yourself or others, we encourage you to visit her publishers site at: https://christianfaithpublishing.com/books/?book=bella-bean-on-blueberry-laneYou can also follow and reach out to Terri by going to her Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/p/Terri-Stephens-Higgins-61579463254209Follow and reach out to us on our respective socials:Instagram - paperback_perspectivesX - Paperback_PodTikTok - paperback.pod

In this chapter, the Bookies talk about books! (Yep, you read that right.) We also discuss some about Annette and Kailen's experience of going to a live book reading in Grand Rapids for author William Kent Krueger. It was a first-time experience for the two; have you ever been to a reading? Did you enjoy it? In this chapter, the Bookies welcome to the table our "person in charge of everything else," Lauren! We go through our life updates, share our long lists of completed and current reads, and then we shift to Lauren for some perspective on what it's like being a non-reader and being surrounded by many avid readers in her life.We close, as usual, with a few recommendations. In today's chapter, the Bookies catch up on their reads, and they play a game of Mount Rushmore, where we draft our favorite book to film/TV adaptations. Not necessarily the best, but the ones that really tickled or moved us. Please comment below on who you think had the best overall draft! Also, let us know what we missed or what some of your favorites are!

In today's episode, The Bookies call in some reinforcements (John Dolleslager and producer Sam) to tackle the usual book chat. Ryne and Lauren were gone at the time of recording this episode doing some unpacking and welcoming their new puppy Korra! We hope to seek out her book thoughts on an upcoming episode.
For Chapter 15, we discuss our completed and current reads, and then wrap up with general recommendations. Business as usual.

In part 2 of this chapter, we discuss some of Hannah's childhood and formative reads, what she enjoys (and loathes) reading to her kids, and then we all move to discussing books that were adapted to shows/movies. It's an unrealistic expectation for things to transfer well from book to screen, and we'd love to hear what you all have experienced with book to film adaptations. What was good, what flopped, etc., let us know!
We close by discussing Right to Read ND. Since filming this episode, the overall movement and our efforts as passionate readers in ND successfully influenced the defeat of Senate Bill 2307! We love to see it!

In part 1 of this episode, the Bookies are joined by their special guest Michele Perrault (Ryne's mother-in-law). We discuss the books they've read recently, and then we move into discussing Michele's life of reading enjoyment. W move from her early youth, onward through motherhood, and into current preferred book styles/authors. She was a delight to have on and learn a bit from! Stay tuned for part 2 where we hear about everyone's current reads, play another round of "Judge a Book by its Cover," and hear about their recommendations. If you have a book or book cover you would like us to judge in a future episode, it would be fun to have others get involved and get us thinking!
