romanticizing the realisation of our unutterable aloneness, hey!
lots of books mentioned in this one:
other things mentioned:
poem Tincture by Andrea Gibson (scroll down till you reach the video!)
an episode inspired by a perspective on boredom Iman shared towards the end of this yt video. plus a bit of a part two to the Party of One ep "the urge to throw my phone against a wall". it's all about rebelling against the rich white men that own the apps that try to own our minds and not letting our phones be our default exit from boredom land.
x Mila
a fever dream stream of consciousness ep in which I, quite literally!!!, just needed to hear myself think. I offer you no real answers, but a great deal of questions. I'd say they matter more anyway...
things mentioned in the ep:
An Apprenticeship or The Book of Pleasures* by Clarice Lispector

in this episode of Party of One, I talk about starting the slow, awkward journey of making friends as an adult after a recent job rejection made me realise I need to train the muscle of putting myself out there — even if I might be rejected.
I also share my early experience with Bumble bff, how to craft a thoughtful profile, and the effort it takes to move connections from the app into real life. plus, I introduce a new segment called Party Favour, where I share something I’ve been loving lately. <3
My Instagram, where you can see screenshots of my Bumble bff profile, as promised!

motivation who? I want to be best friends with discipline from now on, thanks!
also, I very awkwardly introduced myself to one of our neighbours only to realise that he's a bit of a creep who also happens to be responsible for the upkeep of the garden just outside my bedroom balcony... thank god someone invented curtains!

after an accidental hiatus I'm back today with what might be my favourite episode thus far!
tune in to dive into my newfound belief in taking it day by day and to laugh after hearing the story I tell in the podcast's newest segment: Meltdown Diaries.
I've realised I'm a bit of a hypocrite, wishing people around me were kinder, comparing them to kinder people I've met, all the while not being that kind myself.
this episode's a short and sweet reflection to make sure I stuck to regular scheduling. staying committed to myself and my goals feels good! <3
Dear Universe, I hope you were taking notes! in this episode I felt like talking about dreams and goals I have for my life in 2025 and beyond.
mentioned in the ep:
Lush curl power curly hair cream

after stumbling upon a video I made in 2019 which was meant to be the beginning of my very own YouTube channel and hearing myself say the words "in five years time, I hope I'll be proud I started today" and realising it's been five years and I haven't started shit, I've decided it is time I get out of my own way and stop letting fear control me. so this is me, finally starting the podcast I've been daydreaming about for the past however many years. it's been so long I don't even know.
recorded and published on the same day. no edits were made.
had to be quick before I backed down, again. xx, Mila
