Hi, I'm Evie, I'm a medical student talking to alumni to find out what happens after medical school... where did life take them, what the unexpected twists and turns were and what they love about their job now (or perhaps don't love!). Join us as our alumni reminisce about medical school before reflecting on their time and offer their pearls of wisdom to us.

In this episode, I spoke to Chris, a consultant rheumatologist working in London with a specialist interest in lupus/SLE. He is a member of the first cohort of BSMS and he tells us what it felt like being the first cohort of a brand new medical school and what it was that drew him down to Brighton. We talked about how his career has evolved to not only include clinical practice but also how he was able to get heavily involved in research during his training years too. I really loved hearing how a chance encounter with a rheumatology case in an orthopaedic elective changed his mind and shaped his whole career steering away from surgery, toward rheumatology...
