Max Fosh|From the Nylonsack

Hello and welcome to a very special episode and a new series, From The Nylonsack. This interview was incredibly exciting to film, with Max Fosh sharing some never before heard stories.

The Interview goes from his humble beginnings with Street Smart on the cold streets of Newcastle, through his blossoming as Maximus Bucharest on the Zac And Jay show, his meeting with Vox Popper All Gas No Breaks, all the way up to his new venture as a stand up comedian. Of course we circle back to his education at Newcastle University, where he studied for 4 years and all without mentioning the H-word (Harrow).

Pause the Politics
Special Guest : American and British Judges, Courts and the Constitution (Breifly) | RBG

Welcome to a very special episode of Pause the Politics which was made in lieu of the tragic death of the greatly respected Ruth Bader Ginsburg.  To gain an American perspective we invited Alex Cantave onto the show, a politics graduate and Trump supporter, to help us 'Pause The Politics' in order to understand the judiciary in some depth.

You may notice that the thumbnail this week is different from the others.  This was to pay our respects to Ruth Bader Ginsburg (hence the lace collar added to Lustita) but also as this is not part of the 'Musings' series, which will continue next week.

Did you know that the executive (President) nominates judges in the US?  Or that, In California, judges gain their seat on the bench through election?  To anyone outside of the US this mix of politics into the supposedly 'blind' justice may seem unscrupulous but remains a flagship of American justice.  This is one of the many things discussed, along with: morality of private prisons, prison labour under the 13th Amendment, Justice Anthony Scalia, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, serration of powers, the UK's version of a Supreme Court (The Supreme Court Act 1981), life time  appointments (and their subsequent ages), Supreme Court flag burning, RBG election, Senator positions (such as Lisa Murkowski), Supreme Court nominations process and many more items of interest.

Musings: PMQ's, Petitions and Scrutiny

In today's episode we're discussing a prominent form of scrutiny in British politics, PMQ's.  It's fair to say that a critical stance is taken on its effectiveness, but as always with the Musings series we delve deeper than the surface issue and topics such as; the lost art of oratory, the skill of a politician, theatrics in the Commons and (somehow) Nick Clegg.  So what are you waiting for?  Give it a listen and send us your thoughts.
