Perfectionism is Flawed | Motivational | learning Discipline

Consistency Includes Error

If you are going to consciously think about not making a mistake, the chances of you making a mistake is high and likely. And what follows after that, is this deep, unsettled feeling of regret, feeling unaccomplished and feeling like a failure.

The are fundamental elements that develop consistency. These elements are non-negotiable if you want to be a successful human being, living a healthy, happy life. Failure to follow these elements will result in walking an unbalanced, rocky road and it will also result in a malevolently adjusted mind, clustered with thoughts and scenarios that do not belong. Failure to follow these fundamentals results in feelings failure, retreat and regret and these do not belong in your life.

The first element is practice

In order to remain consistent, you must able to put your efforts into practice. Weather you’re studying for a test, starting a new job, business or if you’re a competing Athlete, you must put in the time and energy in becoming a better version of yourself than you were yesterday. You must have a refined plan than what you had yesterday and you must keep this momentum going even if you do not have the motivation to continue. You do not work on motivation, motivation a poor attempt of making excuses as to why you cannot continue the journey you made for yourself. Consistency will never require motivation over discipline. Discipline is what you are putting to practice.

The element practice requires discipline over motivation. Regardless of the several reasons why you can’t, discipline is demanding you to keep going irrespective of how you feel. Keep the practice alive.

The Second Element is Purpose

Practicing consistency reveals one thing about a person, they have a drive, something that they are passionate about, something that they dream about, something that they envision every day. This is defined as purpose — the true goal of your existence.

Forget about the unexplainable philosophy of what purpose could be. Your purpose is subjective to you and it can be whatever it is that drives you, that commands your attention. That wakes you up in the middle of the night because you didn’t do enough, that ensures you are achieving your goals for your future, that makes you realise that if the mind has not limitations, you have no barriers to keep going and achieving what belongs to you. It only doesn’t belong to you, if you stop.

Keep your mind closed to doubt, envision your purpose, remain consistent.

The Final Element is Making Mistakes

You are the champion of your own life’s journey and you need to realise that just as much as you can budget for a good life, they are going to be times when life will just not go your way. Mistakes will happen when you least expect it and when those mistakes happen, you will think about the doubt and you will think about the limitations and you will think about the people that said your purpose isn’t big enough. Mistakes, errors are not something that you turn away from. You have to embrace it because that’s the lesson you need vs the incident that you walk away from.

Errors and mistakes are the stories that you will talk about more as you reflect on journey. When you have made it to that place you envisioned, when you applied discipline to achieve your purpose. When you left doubt behind, and realised that you irrespective what people said, you made it work. The journey isn’t interesting without making mistakes. The journey isn’t worth taking if there aren’t errors that occur. The journey is not yours if what should go wrong, doesn’t go wrong.

The only difference between beating yourself about mistake and being consistent is the fact that you have applied discipline, envisioned purpose, accepted errors in order to achieve your goals, dreams and desires.

Don’t think about your mistakes. Prepare for them. This is consistency.
