Politics In Command
Multipolarity or Anti-Imperialism

Multipolarity has been a popular term on the US Left in the past few years. What is it? Why is it becoming popular, particularly within the US Left? This episode breaks down the actual meaning of Multipolarity and its revisionist definition, and we show how multipolarity is actually not anti-imperialism.

This was a collaborative production with the podcast, Against Japanism. Be sure to follow them on Twitter and Instagram for updates.

Politics In Command
The Power of Criticism, Self-Criticism

Allyn Rickett was arrested in China shortly after the 1949 revolution for espionage. He then underwent a process of criticism, self-criticism for the next four years. This amazing story of transformation is documented in his book who he wrote with his wife, Adele, who was also arrested. The book is titled, Prisoners of Liberation.
(Note: We cleaned up the audio a bit and re-uploaded the interview here so it can be easily accessible.)

From the MIM website:
In 1995, MIM and 14 other organizations brought Allyn Rickett to the University of Massachusetts for the first Prison Awareness Week. He spoke on his experience in revolutionary China where the government used study, self-criticism and labor to rehabilitate its enemies. After his lecture, this interview was conducted by the Undercurrents Program on WMUA 91.1FM.

Fanshen: Class, Women's Liberation and Crit-Self-Crit

The anti-revisionist gang breaks down and discusses some important ideas from the incredible book written by William Hinton, Fanshen: A Documentary of Revolution in a Chinese Village, published in 1966. The book covers the Chinese Revolution in the village of Long Bow between 1946-1948. Full of extraordinary stories, theoretical depth and historical experiences of the Chinese people in their struggle against oppression.

We broke down this nearly 700-page book into 7 topics of which we believe are useful in the context of the US and our class struggle here.

On Bourgeois Philosophy

A discussion with Mateo Andante and his writings at Bourgeois Philosophy.
We discuss how bourgeois thinking penetrates philosophy departments all over academic institutions in the US, how this impacts the worldview of the working class, and the necessity to combat it with Marxist philosophy.

Mateo was a co-author of the book, On Necrocapitalist: A Plague Journal. Published by Kersplebedeb in 2021 at leftwingbooks.net.

Since this recording, Mateo has unfortunately passed due to an illness. We commemorate his life, his work, and his legacy with this episode. We suggest reading a farewell blog post by Joshua Moufawad-Paul: Yet Again the Weight of Mount Tai: Farewell Comrade Mateo.
