Ep.100 Hana Assafiri OAM | The Audacity to Be Free: Why Women’s Lives Must Never Be Negotiated

Hana Assafiri OAM is not here to inspire you. More importantly, she is here to confront what society still refuses to face.

In this powerful rerun of the Power Of Women Podcast, Hana speaks with unflinching honesty about freedom, violence, and the systems that continue to fail women. From growing up between Lebanon and Australia, to being forced into an arranged marriage at just 15, Hana shares how survival alone was never the goal. Dignity, agency, and purpose were.

She reflects on the quiet acts of kindness that altered the trajectory of her life, the courage it took to leave violence, and the systemic gaps that pushed her to create something radically different: the Moroccan Soup Bar. Not a charity. A self-sustaining model of safety, employment, and community for women rebuilding their lives.

This conversation challenges comfortable narratives around empowerment and asks harder questions:

What does freedom actually mean?

Why are women still required to negotiate for it?

And why silence remains one of the most dangerous accomplices of all.

We explore:

  • Why freedom must mean more than survival
  • Arranged marriage, violence, and institutional failure
  • The life-changing power of kindness from strangers
  • Why women don’t need charity… they need pathways
  • How the Moroccan Soup Bar became a blueprint for change
  • Why solutions must be driven by women and supported by men.

Ep.97 Hema Prakash | Women’s Healthcare Reimagined: The Revolutionary Approach Changing Lives

This was such an import episode from earlier in the year, we were compelled to replay it for you.

Women’s healthcare is broken and Hema Prakash is rebuilding it from the ground up.

In this powerful conversation, Hema shares how decades in tech and private equity, a global upbringing, and her own perimenopause journey shaped the creation of Ponti Health - an integrated clinic reimagining women’s health through slow medicine, time-rich consultations, and a fiercely woman-centred model of care.

Hema challenges the medicalisation of menopause, exposes gaps in the Australian healthcare system, and lays out the truth: women have been underserved for too long. The revolution begins with giving women back their intelligence, agency, and time.

This is a call to rethink what women deserve… in healthcare, leadership, financial autonomy and life.

You’ll hear:

➝ Why menopause isn’t a disease and why reframing it changes everything

➝ How Ponti Health blends East, West, tech and time into a groundbreaking new model

➝ Why women’s financial independence is essential for power and long-term wellbeing

➝ The dangerously underfunded state of women’s health research

➝ The leadership philosophy Hema lives by: humility, empathy and excellence.

Ep.83 Natty Frasca | How To Reclaim Pleasure and Power in Midlife

What if midlife wasn’t the crisis we’ve been taught to dread, but the revolution we’ve been waiting for?

In this powerful conversation, Natty Frasca—pleasure coach, rebel rouser, and founder of The Feminine Rebellion, shares why women so often “check all the boxes” of success yet still feel numb, burned out, or disconnected. This episode is for every woman ready to stop apologising for wanting more, to rediscover pleasure beyond the bedroom, and to walk into any room knowing she belongs.

We explore:

- What pleasure really means beyond sex and why most women are disconnected from it

- Why aging is not decline but a superpower of wisdom, sharper boundaries, and freedom

- How to own any room you walk into through presence, not performance

- Why visibility is an act of rebellion against outdated narratives

Ep.82 Di Gillett | Baring All: My Alopecia Story — Losing My Hair But Not My Identity

In this very first solo episode of the Power Of Women Podcast, I open up about a deeply personal chapter of my life: The sudden onset of Alopecia Totalis in 1999 and how it reshaped not only my appearance, but also my resilience, my career and my sense of identity. It left me bald as a badger, when over a few short months, all my hair fell out.

What began as a devastating loss became one of the most defining periods of growth in my life. From enduring clinical and brutal medical treatments to finding unexpected acts of kindness, exploring alternative therapies, and ultimately rebuilding both my confidence and career. This story is a testament to the power of choosing courage in the face of adversity.

I share this episode in the hope that my journey will resonate with anyone facing their own life-altering challenges, reminding us that we are always more than how we look.

What we cover:

- The emotional impact of Alopecia totalis and the identity shift it forced.

- Why Western medicine wasn’t the answer for me, and the path toward alternative therapies.

- The lowest moment of my journey, and how I pulled myself back.

- Lessons in resilience, self-worth, and speaking out to support others.
