Static-X is not only of of the most iconic Nu Metal bands of all time, but they're one of my favorite heavy bands of all time. Their debut Wisconsin Death Trip is now regarded as a stone cold classic of Nu Metal and an album ahead of its time. Today, Static-X bassist Tony Campos sat down with me on Psychic Warfare to speak on some of the memories of the making and touring of that album that make him smile, whether the hand of fate guided Static-X's career trajectory, and the lost art of just following your feet.
Static-X's release of Wisconsin Death Trip - 25th Anniversary Corrosive Edition is out now wherever you stream music

Dry Kill Logic is one of those Nu-Metal bands that seemed to slip through the cracks during the heyday of the early to mid 2000s, but their catalog was far ahead of its time in terms of sound, songwriting, aesthetics, and performance. Today, the band is back and experiencing a big resurgence, and I'm so grateful I got to speak with vocalist Cliff Rigano on the show. He's an incredibly kind, gracious, and articulate guy with so much wisdom to impart, and we spoke about topics like staying true to the courage of your convictions in life, the necessity to change and adapt to the events around you, what the most profound transformation of his life was, and so much more. Big thank you to Cliff for being so open, and go see Dry Kill Logic when they arrive in your area! Also be sure to check out their newest single, "Now You Belong With the Dead," which is out everywhere you stream music.

As a massive fan of this band for years, it was a dream come true to speak to Joakim Broden, singer of Swedish power metal titans Sabaton on Psychic Warfare this week. Sabaton's new album Legends is out now, and Joakim spoke with me about what it means to be a legend, shared the most spiritually powerful historical battlefield he's ever visited, spoke about recognizing his own mortality, and much more in this episode. A huge thanks to Joakim for coming on, and a reminder to everyone to check out Legends, which is out now wherever you find your music.

On the heels of their ripping 7th album, Through Shadows, Ronnie Canizaro, vocalist of progressive metalcore titans Born of Osiris, joins me on Psychic Warfare to discuss what it's like to make the difficult choice, learning to control what you can control, and how important it is to show up for others, and so much more. Big thank you to Ronnie and please go check out Through Shadows, which is out now on Sumerian Records.

Psychic Wafare is back, and it's now a part of the NOIZZE Podcast Network! What better way to officially celebrate the welcome into the Noizze family then with an absolutely amazing talk with Lee Jennings of Rock/Emo/Explosive Fireball band The Funeral Portrait, who now have 2 #1 rock hits and are playing some of the biggest festivals in the USA. The ever charismatic Lee and I chat about how human experiences are mostly universal, the life or death decision of choosing to live authentically, and the catharsis that comes with total belief in yourself, even if you don't know what else you do believe in. This one was a classic and big thank you to Lee for coming on and really opening himself up for all the fans listening.

There perhaps has never been a more uplifting power metal band than rising UK quartet Fellowship, and perhaps no more uplifting interview than this one with Fellowship's vocalist Matthew Corry. Matt and I sat down for an incredible chat about the concept of "Death of the Author," how essential it is to be authentic and what that means, how anger is a useless and obsolete emotion to feel, and so, so much more. I left this talk feeling emotionally and spiritually brighter, and I have a feeling you will too. Check out Fellowship's newest album, "The Skies Above Eternity," out now!
Vicky Psarakis joins the podcast to speak about the political state of the country following the 2024 US Presidential Election, and together we speak about how the goals of the American people are more aligned than many believe. Vicky, as evidenced by her lyricism in her newest project Sicksense, is no stranger to writing about the common goals and enemies that should be focused on in society, and I very much appreciated having her point of view and discussing how recent events tie into the lyrics of her past and present. Sicksense's new album "Cross Me Twice" is out now
NOTE: This Episode contains references to suicide
Cammie from Oceans of Slumber is back in part two of last week's episode, and boy do we finish with a bang in this one. From psychedelics, to "Dune," to Egyptian Scarab necklace wearing poodles, we really cover some ground to say the least. Big thank you to her for being my first guest back on the show, and please go out and listen to "Where Gods Fear to Speak," Oceans of Slumber's new record. It's spectacular and mind expanding in its own right, and you will not regret checking it out.

PSYCHIC WARFARE IS BACK! It's been a year since the last episode, but we are back with a vengeance and a new commitment to bringing heavy music fans the best interviews you'll ever hear with the artists you love! We're coming in hot with part 1 of a TWO PART interview with the amazing Cammie Beverly of Oceans of slumber. This talk was so incredible we had to split it up to keep the cosmic scale of this discussion digestible for you guys! In part 1, Cammie discusses growing up as a Jehovah's Witness, discovering and embracing Paganism, and just so, so much more. We also break down the philosophy and spiritual messages behind tracks on the first half of the bands new record, Where Gods Fear to Speak. This was an amazing way to return and I couldn't be happier to be back in the saddle, and I'm so thankful to Cammie for this remarkable interview. Stay tuned for Part 2 in a couple of days! Thank you all for listening, and be sure to follow the show because this train is back on the rails and it's not planning on stopping!

It's about time we featured an actual philosopher on PSYCHIC WARFARE, and there's no one better suited than Dr. William Irwin. Dr. Irwin is a professor of philosophy at King's College in Wilkes Barre, PA and is an accomplished author who's topics focus on how philosophy intersects with pop culture. However, he's also an incredibly huge Metallica fan. So much so that he has both edited a book of essays entitled Metallica and Philosophy and written a book of his own, The Meaning of Metallica: Ride the Lyrics. In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Irwin to talk about the philosophical ideas of Metallica's lyrics discussed in the former of the two books, including the search for authentic self, enlightened self interest, and James Hetfield's existentialist lyrics and values.

I AM BACK! Thank you to everyone for being so patient with me as I took some time off from the podcast, but I've returned with bigger plans ahead as I talk with the frontman one of death metal's youngest and brightest bands, Chad Green of Frozen Soul, on the spiritual nature of games, holding on to the things you find fun, and never losing your spark in the face of great loss and personal pain. A massive thank you to Chad for being so open and candid in this amazing talk. 22 is my lucky number and Episode 22 of Psychic Warfare is the beginning of bigger and better things for this podcast!

Stephen Richards, vocalist of alt-metal legends Taproot joins me on Psychic Warfare this week to speak about how humor (especially dark humor) has a spiritual power all its own, how he feels he's been guided on an invisble track of fate for his life, the reality of his experiences with astral projection, and much more. Also, be sure to look out for his absolutely wild story of how he met his current wife - aptitude test to OKCupid? You'll see the spiritual power of humor first hand in this episode!

Sometimes it takes an architect to see practical solutions to the issues in the rock and metal scene, and that's exactly who we brought on this week. Katerina Economou, vocalist of one of the fastest rising grindcore acts out there, Escuela Grind, joins Psychic Warfare to speak about what separates hate from anger, the idea of spiritual examination as a potential remedy for social issues, and the unseen philosophical beauty of architecture.
Psychic Warfare is thrilled to feature Jake Duszik, vocalist of one of the coolest and forward thinking bands in heavy music, HEALTH, on the podcast. We take an incredibly deep dive into the ideas and forces that have shaped Jake's pragmatic view of existence, the lingering curse, and eventual salvation, of our own consciousness and awareness of pain and mortality, and the biological complexities of the human mind that shape exactly how we behave in any given moment. Just like his band, Jake truly is a forward thinking and insightful individual and you're not going to want to miss out on this incredibly enlightening conversation.
Knox Colby of crossover thrash brutalizers Enforced joins Psychic Warfare for an absolutely jam packed, emotional, poignant, and in depth discussion on how his life was changed by the philosophy of Stoicism, how community is one of the most important foundations of human growth, and how he, and we, can come to the realization that we are all God. Knox also tells some incredibly personal stories about his confrontation with his own dark thoughts and how they found their way on Enforced's upcoming record, War Remains, and we talk about the philosophical implications of his lyrics on songs yet unheard from the new record.
Andrew Thorp King, author of Failure Rules: The 5 Rules of Failure for Entrepreneurs, Creatives, and Authentics, joins the show to talk about how failure can distill us down to our most authentic selves, the most important lessons of hardcore, how we can embrace our calling journey, how we can stop clinging to safety, and much more! I'm hoping to have more guests on the show who are philosophy authors and who also happen to be huge fans of heavy music, so I hope you all enjoy this twist of an episode and look forward to more in the future, and of course many more interviews with heavy music's most iconic artists!
Djamila Boden Azzouz, vocalist of the massively emerging UK metalcore outfit Ithaca, joins Psychic Warfare to speak about recognizing the self as divine, growing up with religious trauma, exploring the beautiful messages of Islam, accepting your feelings with grace and compassion, and so much more. All this and so much more on Episode 15 of the Psychic Warfare Podcast.
Bobby Amaru, vocalist of early 2000s hard rock breakouts Saliva, joins Psychic Warfare to speak about how addiction can remove you from reality, whether one of the meanings of life is to leave an impact on those around you, and the heartbreaking story behind one particular Saliva Song.
