ਮੁਕਤਸਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਲੇਖਕ ਮਿੰਟੂ ਗੁਰੂਸਰੀਆ ਸਮੇਤ 10 ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਧਾਰਾਵਾਂ ਤਹਿਤ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਧਿਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦੂਜੀ ਧਿਰ ’ਤੇ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਦਬਾਅ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਗਲਤ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਏ ਗਏ। ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੂਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਬੁੱਧੀਜੀਵੀ ਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੋਸ ਦੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਹੈ। ਮਿੰਟੂ ਗੁਰੂਸਰੀਆ, ਜੋ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਵੈ-ਜੀਵਨੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਰਾਹ ਦਿਖਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਜਾਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨੇ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਬਦਲਾਖੋਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ’ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਅਦਾਲਤੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਜਾਂਚ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ, ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਹੁਣ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਚਹਿਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਰਚਾ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਸੱਚ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
