Kev and James vote for a less obvious Xmas movie for our guest from California to watch. Nicole is currently challenging herself to watch the top 1000 movies and has not seen many classics yet, due to being 18. So we decide to be annoying and recommend even more to add to her list. We have a laugh talking through Horrors as Halloween has just passed, talking through Christmas memories growing up and into recommended Xmas movies as well as ones to avoid. We did well as we never mention the cliche topic of 'Die Hard' but still discussed alternative Xmas movies as well as some classics. We try to keep on topic, but you know how things get sometimes. We catch up with an old friend from where we used to live in Andover, Hampshire. He used to make music videos for the local bands and has progressed to writing and directing his own short films and we expect big things from him in the future. We delve into horror movies and classic TV & Film from Michael Bay, David Lynch, David Cronenberg to Stanley Kubrick and discuss audiences over analysing themes to ambiguous endings. Our American Correspondent Peter joins us today as he has selected the subject of our Deep Dive episode. John Carpenter has had a huge impact in the film industry especially the horror genre with not only creating the most important and famous slasher horror movie Halloween, but also the creator of the chilling soundtrack. We talk through his personal life, early profession career and a selection of his greatest movies and what he has influenced.

We discuss behind the scenes stories on movie sets and when Kev and Marina briefly worked together on a couple of film projects. Marina talks about her passion for the job, as well as the pressures that also come in this high paced industry, alongside the difficulty faced and overcome of often being the only female in the crew which has changed over the last 10 years. Her main role is the Focus Puller which is a highly skilled and critical job, as errors in focus can be expensive to reshoot. We discuss how to get into the industry and how important this role is for the overall feel and visual language of any movie. We also look into her fun fashion sense and the satisfaction and benefits that working in the movie industry provides.

Today we delve into the life and career of Emma Stone, touching on her struggles in growing up and to why she got into acting. We talk through her movies and roles as they changes from supporting actor to becoming the lead in many huge films as well as the awards she has received. She has been in a variety of genres, from rom-coms, comedy, action, super hero and more recently being the Muse of Yorgos Lanthimos' strange and impressive visual world of cinema.
