Today we have Euan (Occupational Therapist) speaking with Callum (Founder & Lead Occupational Therapist) about Occupational Performance Coaching (OPC) and how this intervention was piloted at bOunceT; as part of the Scottish Government’s Communities Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund. Euan and Callum discuss what OPC is, it’s background, the potential for this intervention across healthcare settings, and give an example of a case study ‘M’. The pilot project report is available to read online under our Social Impact Tab. Finally, Callum and Euan make recommendations for what needs to be considered when ‘doing’ OPC in practice.

Callum reflects on his career change at the early stages of his university degree, to how and why he set up a social enterprise. Finally, Callum discusses some of his role models and recommends some tips for both student OT’s and people who are thinking of setting up their own business.

Today we have Eliza (Service Journey Officer) telling us about her new, developing role within the Leadership Team at bOunceT. Eliza explains how she crossed passed with Callum in a previous job and kept an eye on bOunceT developing over the last few years. Finally, Eliza describes some of the goals she has for being successful in this role and supporting the organisation to become even bigger and better!

Today we have our Occupational Therapy team (Nadia, Julia & Callum) reflect on the 4 main themes of #AHPsDay (Allied Health Professionals Day) - Inspire, Connect, Celebrate & Appreciate. The OT team discuss what inspired them to work as an AHP, how they stay connected with others and the importance of this - then they reflect on the most rewarding parts, and the challenges, of being an AHP..especially in the 3rd sector.

Today we have Alicia (Play Leader) having a discussion with Callum (Founder) about what she was doing before she came to bOunceT, how she found out about us online - and how she has been involved in both working directly with families and across other areas of the business (Marketing and Communications).

Today we have one of our Occupational Therapists Nadia speaking about her journey from working as a Play Resource Officer on a 3 month internship in early 2021, to becoming a core Occupational Therapist in our service. Nadia reflects on her ability to transfer core OT skills and learning from university and placements to working with families and children with disabilities at bOunceT!

Today Shai (Marketing, Social Media & Communications Officer) talks to us about his experience of starting his journey at bOunceT as a graduate intern, to becoming a full time member of the team! Shai explains how he managed the transition from a student to entering the workplace, what projects he has been getting involved in, and how he gets involved in both business focused activities - as well as working closely with the occupational therapy team to promote & advertise what they do/ how they do it best. Finally, Shai reflects on what his greatest achievements are - funnily enough it’s leading the way with designing and developing our first ever product*, and bringing this to market to be sold on our website! Today we hear from Julia Wilson, an Occupational Therapy graduate from Glasgow Caledonian University working at bOunceT as a Play Resource Officer (PRO). Julia currently works with us fully remote from her home in New Brunswick, Canada.
