Originally called Empower Sounds, the podcast has evolved and turned into Reclaiming Bossy! I’ve been called “bossy” many times in my life, often in a negative way. But through conversations with leaders, founders, and creators, I realised that so many of us share this “bossy” spark. I love the idea of reclaiming this word that’s been used to put people down and turn it into something empowering. Reclaiming bossy is a space to celebrate ambition, leadership, creativity, and the bold voices making things happen New episodes every monday <3

Why Your Vision Board Isn’t Working, Here’s What to Do Instead…

If you’ve ever made a vision board, this episode is for you.

And if you’ve never made one, it’s definitely for you…

I’ve been making vision boards for over 12 years, and they remain one of the most powerful tools I use to ground my goals, visualise my future, and stay aligned with what I’m building.

In this episode, I share how vision boards really work, why I create them every quarter, and how to use them as a creative, expansive practice rather than something stressful or rigid. I’ve helped friends, family, and founders create vision boards over the years, and I truly believe this is a tool everyone in this community can benefit from.

Whether you’ve never made a vision board before or you’ve been doing them for years, this episode will give you new perspectives, practical tips, and permission to make the process more fun.

If you’ve ever put something on a vision board and felt disappointed when it didn’t happen, we talk about that too. Sometimes the magic is in the scenic route.

And yes, we talk about vision board bingo.I’m hosting a vision board bingo event today, so stay tuned for videos from that. If you make a vision board after listening, send it to me on Instagram. I really want to see them, especially if you do the bingo.

The Easiest Way to Learn Any Language: How I Taught Myself Spanish From 0 to Fluent…

What if I told you that learning languages is actually really easy, you just need to find a method that works for you not the one the school system forced on everyone?

Most of us grew up believing that learning a language is hard because school taught it in the most unnatural way possible: memorising endless vocab lists, doing grammar drills, and never actually using the language in real life. But that’s not how humans learn languages at all.

In this episode, I break down the simple, natural system I used to go from zero Spanish → B1 completely self-taught, and then B1 → C1 fluent when I lived in Spain. No tutors. No expensive courses. No pressure.

This is what worked for me with Spanish but I´m sure it applies for other languages too, and I want to try it next with Portuguese

If you haven’t yet, listen to my “Learning to Learn” episode,  it will make this whole process even easier and is mentioned as part of this language learning method: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_SEwAn1SUg

Reclaiming Bossy
A Generalist´s Guide to Starting and Scaling Multiple Businesses...

In today’s episode of Reclaiming Bossy, I sit down with Danielle Le Seur, a founding member of Nineten58 and one of the most dynamic generalist builders in the London tech ecosystem.

Dani’s journey is full of grit, curiosity, and reinvention, from running a chicken business in South Africa as a kid to now helping ambitious partners turn high-leverage ideas into world-class software.

At Nineten58, Dani co-builds across everything from AI infrastructure and realtime systems to agentic workflows, payments & fintech, and scalable platforms, but today’s conversation goes way beyond the technical.

This episode is really about how generalists build:how you learn fast, how you make mistakes without collapsing, how you balance relationships, how you handle comparison and founder loneliness, and how you reclaim that inner bossy energy while building a life you’re proud of.

If you’re a multi-hyphenate creative, an early-stage founder, or simply someone trying to make sense of your ambition  Dani’s story will resonate deeply.

Things I Do To Fill Up My Cup: My Antidotes For Seasonal Depression...

If you’ve been feeling drained, uninspired, or like life has been on autopilot lately, this one’s for you.

In this episode, we talk about what it really means to put your own oxygen mask on first, reconnect with yourself, and find ways to fill up your own cup

We dive into practical tools and mindset shifts to help you fill your cup again and prevent burnout, especially as the days get darker and colder.

9 Ways to Fill Your Cup Again

1.Identify your cup drainers

Do an energy audit. Notice what activities, habits, or relationships leave you feeling empty. Awareness is the first step to change.

2. Morning pages

Write it all out. Morning pages help clear mental chaos and reveal the thought patterns that keep looping so you can rewrite your script.

3. Creative rest

Rest isn’t just naps or Netflix. There are seven types of rest,  and creative rest is one of the most powerful. Sing, dance, paint, move. Create for the joy of it, not the outcome.

4. Get out of your head and into your body

Movement shifts energy. Whether it’s walking, dancing, or trying new forms of exercise, move because it feels good not as punishment.

5. Solo adventures

Reconnect with independence. Spend intentional time alone. Explore new places, take yourself on dates, and rediscover your curiosity.

6. Personas vitaminas

In Spanish, personas vitaminas means “vitamin people”, the ones who nourish your soul. Take inventory of who uplifts you and make time for them.

7. Buffer time

Stop filling every moment. Create space in your schedule to simply exist. Even five minutes of stillness can prevent overwhelm.

8. Romanticise your life

Find joy in the everyday. Light a candle, make your coffee slowly, look for beauty even in the grey days. Remember: you’re co-creating your life.

9. Side quests and learning

Make time for curiosity. Learn random things just because they excite you. Leave room for life to surprise you.

Its time for rebrand, heres why ...

Its time for a rebrand, this is the start of a new era…

For the last two and a half years, this podcast existed under the name Empower Sounds. It was about giving women a platform to share their stories. But somewhere along the way, I outgrew it, and it outgrew me.

This episode is the story of that evolution. It’s about what happens when you realise you’ve built something that no longer reflects who you are and how to grow with it

I’m talking about rebranding in every sense: your work, your image, your identity. Because the truth is, you’re allowed to reinvent yourself as many times as it takes to feel like you again.

It’s also about the word bossy, the one so many of us were called growing up and how reclaiming it became the heartbeat of this next chapter.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re in between versions of yourself, or that you’ve outgrown your current brand, this episode is for you.

00:12:00 – Journal Prompt: What Have You Outgrown?

00:15:00 – The Five Types of Visualisation and Reinvention

00:19:20 – Perfectionism: The Silent Brand Killer

You’ll Learn

- How to know when it’s time to rebrand or evolve

- The difference between quitting and outgrowing

- How to reframe “bossy” into leadership energy

- Why your brand is meant to evolve as you do

- The mindset shift that makes change feel exciting

your fear of being seen is stopping you from living your dream life, heres why...

On today's episode of the pod I talk about the fear of being seen. This is something that has been something I have struggled with despite talking on camera for a few years now and something I think everyone should work on because it has impacts not just for content and visibility in the media , but also your ability to speak up at work or in your friendships and relationships. In my experience this fear comes from a safety and worthiness wound, and I share more about those today and what am doing to heal them both. I hope this resonates and if you liked the episode please leave a comment and let me know what you think down below.Timestamps00:00:17 - What would you do if you had no fear?00:04:47 - Where does it come from? 00:08:39 - Worthiness side of being seen00:11:00 - Insecurities00:14:20 - insecurities are infectious 00:22:00 - the “cool girl” monologueFollow the podcast/me to stay updated with the community Podcast instagram : @reclaimingbossyMy Instagram: @maahika.sPodcast TikTok: @empowersoundspodcast My tiktok: @maahika.sLinkedIn: Maahika SinghFor collaborations and inquiries:team@empowersoundsmedia.com

  • Setting multidimensional goals as a creator
  • Balancing multiple career paths while creating
  • Working with big brands, developing your creative instinct

  • Advice & encouragement for you, wherever you are in your creative journey

If you’re here from Sam’s community, welcome :)))

Feel free to hang out, suggest content you want to hear, or tell me your burning questions. This podcast exists to help young women & creators design the templates for their dream lives, because life is too short to live someone else’s playbook.

Beating the Men in Lycra Epidemic: Luca Kuhn on Cycling Fashion for Women

Why should women settle for cycling gear designed with men in mind?In this episode of Empower Sounds, I sit down with Luca Kuhn, founder of LUCA, the women’s cycling apparel brand redefining what it means to ride in style, comfort, and confidence. What started as an ick with the “men in Lycra epidemic” became the spark for Luca to create something new a fashion-forward cycling brand built for women, by women. Today, LUCA is more than apparel: it’s a community, a movement, and part of the women’s cycling revolution. What You’ll Learn in This Episode1. The “ick” that inspired LUCA and how frustration can fuel innovation2. Why women need cycling apparel that goes beyond men’s designs in smaller sizes3. The rise of CycleClubs and why they’re the new RunClubs4. How LUCA blends performance, fashion, and confidence in every piece5. Luca’s journey from cyclist to founder and lessons from building a purpose driven brand6. The importance of representation, community, and safe spaces in cycling Why This Matters1. The cycling apparel market was valued at $2.19B in 2024 and is forecasted to hit $3.36B by 2032.2. Women’s cycling clothing alone was valued at $1.23B in 2024 and expected to double by 2033.3. Yet, only 9% of UK women cycle weekly compared to 21% of men showing the need for better products, infrastructure, and representation.LUCA is stepping into that gap with stylish, functional gear and building a movement in the process.🔗 Connect with LUCAWebsite: https://www.rideluca.comInstagram: Ride_lucaInstagram (personal): lucakuhnTiktok: Ride_Luca🎧 Connect with Empower Sounds/MePodcast instagram : @empowersoundsMy Instagram: @maahika.sPodcast TikTok: @empowersoundspodcast My tiktok: @maahika.sLinkedIn: Maahika SinghFor collaborations and inquiries:team@empowersoundsmedia.com#WomensCycling #CyclingApparel #FemaleFounders #CycleClubs #CyclingFashion #Empowerment #StartupStories

The Founders Playbook: How to Build, Fund and Pitch Your Startup

If you’re a founder, or dreaming of becoming one, this episode is your essential starter pack. I’m joined by Hattie Willis, founder of GuessWorks and If We Raise, to break down everything you need to know about building, funding, and sustaining a company…

We begin by stripping away the jargon and exploring the different types of entrepreneurs and what it really means to be a founder. From there, we dive into the world of investors: the types you’ll encounter, whether raising is right for you, and the red flags and green flags every founder should watch for.

Pitching is another area we go deep on, how to pitch to clients, your team, and, of course, investors, with practical advice you can put into action immediately. We also unpack the funding gap, what it means for women and underrepresented founders, and how to address it. Finally, we close with a conversation on founder wellbeing because building a business shouldn’t come at the cost of your health and happiness

This conversation is as close as you’ll get to a founder’s playbook. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your approach, this episode is your go-to resource for building smarter, pitching better, and thriving as a founder.

  • The biggest myths and jargon in entrepreneurship (and what they actually mean)
  • How to identify what type of founder you are
  • The key differences between raising and bootstrapping and how to know which path is right for you
  • Red flags and green flags when working with investors
  • How to pitch effectively to clients, teams, and investors
  • Why the funding gap exists and how founders can navigate it
  • Practical strategies for protecting and prioritizing founder wellbeing

You are not dumb, you just need to learn how to learn ...

If I could talk about only one thing for the rest of my life, it would be this: learning how to learn. This is the skill that changed everything for me. It’s what helped me go from being an average student to making the Dean’s List at university, graduating top of my class, and having my dissertation nominated for a national prize. It’s how I taught myself Spanish from scratch, despite not being able to learn French after seven years of school. It’s the foundation that helped me start my business, launch this podcast, move countries, and keep growing. In this episode, I break down what it really means to “learn to learn.” I talk about how no one is dumb, we just have to understand how our brains absorb information best. I always felt like a super average student but during COVID, I discovered different learning styles (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic) and realised that when you learn to teach yourself things in a way that works for you, you can learn anything…In this episode we’ll cover:1) How to figure out whether you’re a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner2) How to actually improve your memory and retain more of what you study3) The formula for building consistency and self-discipline4) Practical methods for teaching yourself new skills, subjects, and even languagesToday´s episode is deeply personal and also one of the most practical I’ve ever recorded. These are the exact methods that took me from struggling with languages to fluently speaking Spanish, from average grades to thriving at university, and from confusion to clarity in my career. I’d love for you to listen and then share what resonates with you.Comment your thoughts below or in the podcast reviews so we can keep learning together as a community.Follow Empower Sounds Podcast:Instagram: @empowersoundsTikTok: @EmpowerSoundsPodcastFor collaborations and inquiries: team@empowersoundsmedia.comSubscribe here on YouTube for new episodes every Monday and comment below your learning style or any questions you have :)

Reclaiming Bossy
Originally called Empower Sounds, the podcast has evolved and turned into Reclaiming Bossy! I’ve been called “bossy” many times in my life, often in a negative way. But through conversations with leaders, founders, and creators, I realised that so many of us share this “bossy” spark. I love the idea of reclaiming this word that’s been used to put people down and turn it into something empowering. Reclaiming bossy is a space to celebrate ambition, leadership, creativity, and the bold voices making things happen New episodes every monday <3
