Hosts: George Fairhurst & Rob Clark
Panel: Josh Dean, Connor Docwra, Alastair Walker Stewart
To put it simply, we're back.
Join Rob, Connor, Josh, Amy and George as we navigate 2022 so far and play a special round of Politican or Partridge, Politician or Putin.
D'ya remember Labour? Eh? Do you? The party that used to have Blair as a leader? Our father used to call him phoney tony. It's got Yvette again, Nan used to love Yvette as Shadow Home Secretary. Used to have to wait three years for a policy announcement, got a load at once, felt like bloody standing at the bus stop at 7:30 on a morning. What were all that about?!
..... It's Red Rose Reporting! It's back, with a chockablock panel assembled at the last minute to discuss the Peter Kay reshuffle, so-called because it was the reshuffle of journalists going "who remembers ...... as shadow Home Secretary". Well, either that or saying "who" when some of the cabinet members were sacked. Will Barber Taylor joins Connor Docrwa, Alastair Walker Stewart, Rob Clark and George Fairhurst to sort out what yesterdays root and stem reorganisation actually means for the Labour Party!
George and Rob are joined by podcast regular Connor Docwra.
This episode sees discussion range from the Autumn ahead, Newcastle United being bought out and The Starmer Today!
To put it simply, we're back!
Join Alastair, Josh, Rob and George as we breeze through the summers political turbulence and the events ahead of this autumn!
Red Rose Roots returns! After the best efforts of an election, editing mishaps and a sheer questioning of the sanity of the host's: we're back! And joining us for the first time ever on the podcast is Hemsworth activist Eleanor Falshaw (Hemsworth CLP Youth Officer) to discuss the Labour stronghold of Hemsworth Constituency. Monk mines, failed grammar schools, Latin singing school teachers turned Labour MP's and deselections: this podcast has it all!
Follow Eleanor here, we cannot thank her enough for giving her time to come on the podcast and talk to us about all things Hemsworth (@EleanorFalshaw).
Back after an Easter break, and ready to dissect an ever-changing political world: this is Waiting for the Survation. George, Rob, Connor & Alastair are set to assess what has happened from late March to mid-April. With a focus on Proportional Representation, the rise of Alba, Vaccine Passports: it's an intellectual high for this series so far! Plus, is it a politician or Partridge? Find out at the end!
George & Rob are back dissecting the polls once again (from March 1st to March 16th), joined by the ever trusty Alistair and guest panelist: Lauren Davison! Discussing the polls, the panel touch on the impending Hartlepool by-election; the legacy of Nigel Farage, a post-budget assessment, the current revelations in the Salmond Enquiry, the tragedy of Sarah Everard & the draconian measures of the Policing Bill. Will Alistair & Rob get it right in Politician or Partridge? Listen in and find out!
Red Rose Spotlights shines a light on Hertfordshire activist, Joshua Dean. Standing in the election in St Andrews, Josh sits down with George Fairhurst to talk about his involvement in politics, tells us what the local political scene is like, why he believes that St Andrews needs a Labour Representative and tackles the issue of what policy he would pass if given the chance.
Make sure to follow the podcast on Twitter @RedReporting, Instagram @RedReporting and search Red Rose Reporting on Facebook to find out more. Thanks for listening!
Welcome to a brand new series: Red Rose Roots. So many people talk about the Red Wall as if it is a sort of single entity that things as one, votes as one, acts as one. But is that really the case? George Fairhurst and Rob Clark; armed with the research which you only get with podcasting, a blackbook of contacts in many Red Wall seats & a desire to get to grips with all the former Labour Heartlands set out to see what's the truth.
Starting with Wakefield, we are joined by Wakefield Young Labours Secretary, Theo Biddle, as we go through Wakefield from 1935 to 2021. There's Strikes, shocks, governments collapsing & even Rugby League! So join us as we delve into the world of Red Rose Roots.
We're back, we've got got polling and a new pannelist of our polling series! Joining us as the first ever candidate for an external election on the podcast is the wonderful Josh Dean (@Josh4standrews). Along with the usual motley crew of Connor Docwra (@connordocwra), Rob Clark (@RIC99_) and George Fairhurst (@FabianFairhurst): the panel discusses those large Tory leads, why Matt Hancock breaking the law seems to have made little dents in the public imagination & maybe discuss a mayoral election or two!
Waiting for the Survation returns! In three weeks, we've had an actual survation poll, mounting criticism of Keir Starmer, a Government polling boost and rumours of elections that will be without leafleting and door knocking! So who better to break it down than @AnErrorOfComedy , @connordocwra , @RIC99 and of course @FabianFairhurst
Welcome to a new regular series on the podcast! Waiting for the Survation is your key to the world of polling across the UK, whether you're a Survation waiter or an Opinium Poller Perfectionist.
Joining us this week is the formidable duo of Alaister Stewart Walker (@AnErrorOfComedy) and Connor Docwra (@connordocwra), with Rob Clark (@RIC99_) and George Fairhurst (FabianFairhurst) as hosts. See you in two weeks time on the 7th of February!
Welcome to part two of the polling special! Now that we've established your Opinium from your YouGov, we turn to the 2021 battlegrounds. Wales, Scotland, London, regional English Council Elections. What's going to happen? Well, you'll just have to listen as George and Rob quiz polling expert Josh on what might happen!
Side Note, the episode was recorded before Richard Leonard resigned and new polling data came out suggesting a drop in Welsh Labours support. It's RRRs belief that the Welsh poll is an outlier and therefore publishing this episode still makes statistical sense.

You're in for a treat if polling, charts, numbers, the D'Hondt or waxing lyrically about the state of British sub-samples is your thing. George and Rob sit down with @JMagosh from Twitter, a political polling expert who is going to explain how to read the numbers! Who knows, you may not even wait for the Survation after this...
Our thanks go to Josh for appearing on this and the next episode, that will come around in a few days!
This is a break from the usual political content to bring you an update! For the first time, after weeks of haggling, Red Rose Reporting will have more than just George Fairhurst running the show! Rob Clark, a Politics graduate from Rothwell, joins Red Rose Reporting as the new co-host and political polling wizkid. This is an episode to get to know Rob, hear about some exciting announcements and prepare for the new years content.
Panny Antoniuo and Rhiannon Jenkin join me for this weeks episode of Red Rose Spotlights to talk about Labour doorstep: a cross-party campaign machine aiming to take the fight both digitally and at the doorstep to new levels. We discuss campaign tactics, the buzz on the doorstep, how we can get past a year of vicious internal elections to fight the Tories and of course: they dished out their hypothetical lone policy in the One Day, One Policy section.
Amy Dwyer from the North West and University of Manchester Young Fabian Societies joins us for a chat about Fabianism, the struggle of making connections in politics, the 50/50 Parliament and of course: what her ideal policy would be!
