We are in Matthew chapter 2 this morning looking in to the the journey of the 3 three wisemen. Even though the wisemen had a shining star to follow and show the way they still got lost. Instead of giving up, Jesus was worth the journey. Today we hope to encourage you not to give up. No matter how far or impossible the destination is, that Jesus is worth the journey.

This isn’t an ordinary Christmas message. This is the scandal of Christmas. In this series we will open up the book of Matthew and take a deep dive into Mary and Joseph and the controversy surrounding Jesus’s birth. Today we will find out that God had a plan for Mary and Joseph that the world just didn’t understand.

As the Israelites move beyond Jericho in their first big victory, they suffer a terrible defeat in the next city. The reason? One person’s secret sin defiled the whole nation. In his attempt to cover it up, God uncovered it. However, we can choose a different way. When we uncover our sin, God covers it with his grace and mercy. From Joshua 7.

The Israelites were outmatched, yet God wanted them to take the city of Jericho. To make matters worse, God’s battle plan seemed ludicrous. But when the Israelites obeyed, victory came. What was required of them is also required of you. From Joshua 6.

As the Israelites cross into the land, God has a couple of first priority items of business to do that they have neglected. As they renew the covenant and celebrate the Passover, God prepares them for the journey ahead. We need the same preparation as we live our lives as well. From Joshua 5.

We are in Joshua 4 and the Israelites are still crossing the Jordan. God has done the impossible by splitting the Jordan river in half just like he did for Moses. God wants us to remember powerful moments in our life and share those with people who don’t know of the power that he has. Today we learn about being a Living Stone a stone that tells the story of God’s glory.

As the Israelites approach the flooded Jordan, God instructs them to cross into the land he promised to give them. But how? After 40 years, why now? God was revealing something to them that we need to learn as well. From Joshua 3.

As the Israelites get ready to cross the Jordan, two spies encounter a lady in Jericho named Rahab. By external appearances, she is an unlikely to be much value. But God had a different story in mind. This outsider becomes a central figure in the lineage of Jesus. From Joshua 2.

Everyone wants to be strong & face obstacles with courage. But where does that inner fortitude come from? As Joshua faces an enormous challenge ahead, God provides insight not only on what he is to do, but what will sustain him in the battle. From Joshua 1.

After their deliverance from slavery, God gives his people a vision for their future. The odds seem overwhelming and everyone wants to turn back. Only two, Joshua & Caleb, lean in with faith. Will we be like Joshua or the crowd? From Numbers 13-14.

The return of Jesus may feel like it has taken forever. Yet the confession of the church has always been, “Jesus is coming soon.” Because it is soon, Peter encourages believers to make every effort to be ready to welcome him. Are you ready and excited? From 2 Peter 3:3-14.

Many followers of Jesus may feel stuck in their walk. A lack of transformation or ongoing struggle with sin can be discouraging. Peter reminds believers that change is possible because of God’s divine power in us. Because of that power, we can experience transformation. From 2 Peter 1:3-11.
