Rooted Family,
I have MISSED YOU!!! I am so sorry for the delay, but I am back with the final episode of Season 3 ANDDD it's also available on YouTube: https://youtu.be/L_kEdtt32RQ
We are ending this beautiful season with something near and dear to my heart, and that is the topic of separation and isolation. We dive into three main areas the enemy uses these tools to attack: separation from God, from self, and with others.
We're also diving into separation from His Bride - the CHURCH. Let me say this, the Church is messyyy Hunny! But so are we.
These are heavy topics, I pray they speak to you, nurture you, comfort you, challenge you, and most importantly - meet you exactly where you're at.
Season 3 of Rooted has been a true highlight of my year. It has been just as much as a safe space for me, as I hope it's been for you.
With SOOO much love and prayer, I say, "See you next season!"

Feeling hopeless? Good. When we're feeling hopeless we have two choices: either something needs to change, or something needs to end.
The lens and perspective in which we choose to view life will create the experience we have.
We have no influence over the past, but we do have influence over our future - How will you use that influence? WILL you use it?
There are still 4 months left in 2023, what if it's the best 4 months you've ever had?

Have you ever viewed food as a god? How about attention?
Usually when we think of "serving two masters" we think of money, sex, drugs, etc., but the other master can be anything that we are turning to more than or instead of our Father.
Most of the time, it's something we have an unhealthy relationship, pattern, or cycle with - which the enemy is very well aware of.
In this episode, I opened up about realizing I had two gods in my life, and how love was my motivator for change.

The enemy is sneaky and slithering in the ways he attacks us, and nothing is off-limits. He can come at us through spiritual warfare, through our prayer life, and even make us question our relationship with our Father.
In this "unofficial" part 2 of "What is Blocking Your Connection w/ God?" I share my own experiences with this and encourage you to equip yourself with a good offense. We cannot protect ourselves from something we are not educated about.
We also diver deeper into discussion about intimacy with God, getting to truly know our Father, and the ways He long to hear from us.

Surprise!
We want God's Glory, without ever spending any time in the wilderness. We want God's character, but don't want the discomfort of Him "reshaping us."
While in my morning time today, God put on my heart to make this episode and share this word for someone. Praying it can connect with you.
Emotional trauma is layered, therefore, the healing as well is layered. We need to remember to be kind and patient with ourselves. But we also need to remember that there is an enemy who wants to keep us stuck, distracted, and in BONDAGE.

We were designed for relationship with our Father, but the enemy is sneaky and he will try and convince us that we're not "capable" of it. But sometimes, it has nothing to do with the enemy, sometimes blocks are created through our own sin, disobedience, and feelings that we are harboring.
In order to have connection with God, we have to have true intimacy with Him. What does your intimacy with God look/feel like? Do you have intimacy with Him?
Sometimes it's easy for us to say that "God doesn't talk to me," yet we don't actually provide a space for God to be God.

Do you know who you *actually* are? Not who you BELIEVE you are. Not who you PERFORM. Not your insecurities, false beliefs, self-doubt...
I'm talking about your born-again identity, your TRUE identity, your God-given identity.
Each day we wake up and can choose to walk into the new creation that we are, yet so many of us are carrying around the same fears, problems, and hurts that have plagued us for years. Believing that "this" is just the way things are. This is just "the way I am."
I REBUKE THAT.
In this episode, we're diving into our identity as sons and daughters of Christ, and what that actually means. Do we actually believe we can be a new creation?

Heavier seasons can come with heavy feelings and emotions. At times, these feelings and emotions can feel all-consuming and overwhelming.
But God.
As I have walked through my own season, I realized at times I've given my feelings and emotions far more power than they actually have. In this episode, we're discussing taking our power back, putting on the armor of God, and fighting back with ALL God has equipped us with.

In this week’s episode, I open up about a current situation I am navigating and walking through this season while dealing with an ex.
The truth is, it’s not about them, but really, what God needs ME to surrender in this season - oof!
Our feelings are always valid, but they are not always fact, and that can be difficult to keep in mind when someone has hurt us.
Listen, ya girl was about to pop off and pull up recently, so trust me, I understand.
If you as well find yourself in a similar season, I really believe this episode is going to resonate with you.

Getting real and honest with God transforms our relationship with Him. We don’t gain anything by concealing our true feelings about Him, or about our own current situations. Have you gotten radically honest with God? I’m also excited to share the incredible God encounter I had recently. Had it not been for my obedience in that moment, it would’ve never happened. I’m excited to share this “obedience testimony” for anyone else that has ever felt God tugging on their heart. Which is something we’re diving into this episode, what have you felt God “tugging” on your heart? Let’s dive into that. There are multiple self reflection questions in this episode for you to check in with yourself about. Have you ever tried to anoint your ex-boyfriend's home? Hi, welcome to Navigating a Necessary Ending!
Letting go can get messy, humans are messy! But thank God for His grace and guidance through it all.
In this episode, I'm opening up about a necessary ending I'm navigating in real-time, and my "missteps" along the way. Through each misstep, I've learned so much about myself. More importantly, I've been able to find and have such grace with myself, which is ultimately the way I was able to let go and walk in the freedom God wants for me.
We're also diving into Exodus and Isaiah! So feel free to grab your Bible and follow along.

As I've continued to find myself in a pruning season, there are relationships in my life that have changed and/or completely ended. None of this is easy. In fact, at times it's been heartbreakingly hard.
But I can do hard things.
Two things can be true at once: I can love something/someone with all my heart - and also know that I still have to leave.
In this episode, we're unpacking that statement and exploring what it looks like to be on both ends of it.

What patterns do you continue to battle? What strongholds can't you break through?
We may have vision for "more" or for "better" in our lives, but if we don't actually BELIEVE it - down in our core - then it's just wishing.
Believe and KNOW that you were created for more. You have the Living God within you. Sometimes I think our own potential scares us, so we stay stuck and play small because that is what feels safe.
Following Jesus was never designed to "be safe," so why would I want to live my life this way? I am believing in Bigger because was created for Bigger.

"Them not being physically in your life does not mean that they do not take up mental, spiritual, and emotional space within your internal life."
This episode is the "unofficial" part 2 of episode 1, "My Testimony." I shared about the domestic abuse in my parent's relationship, and as a daughter/woman/human being, the ways it impacted me and my life.
I was faced with the question, "how do I forgive the unforgivable?" In episode 2 of Rooted, we're peeling back the layers of unforgiveness and allowing ourselves to explore what's really at the root of it. More importantly, we're talking about why forgiveness is really about and for you.

Katherine concludes season 2 of Rooted with recent lessons and revelations that God continues to pour into her through her own healing journey.
She opens up about the experience of having to write a letter to her parent. The four parts she discusses are:
1. This is what you did to me
2. This is how I felt about it at the time
3. This is how it affected my life
4. This is what I want from you now
Through writing the letter, Katherine shares the pain and anger that surfaced as a result.
How God will absolutely burn bridges with certain people so that they can never walk back across.
Katherine's decision and journey (so far) with giving up alcohol for the year.
Book: "Quit Like a Woman" by Holly Whitaker
Two Q&A questions at the end!
When we hold onto unforgiveness, we essentially are keeping people "captive." More importantly, we are keeping ourselves spiritually bound to this person.
As a follow-up to the Relationship series that just wrapped up, Katherine hopes this episode on forgiveness and freedom serves as a "missing puzzle piece." As she discusses, we have not truly let go or truly moved on - unless we have truly forgiven.
This is by no means an easy thing to do, and something you may not be ready for at this moment. Katherine hopes if anything this episode will plant a seed that you can use for when you are ready to entertain such a thing.
Don't forget to send in your questions/comments for the Season Finale next episode!

Ya’ll thought we were done talking about Relationships??
This week, God placed one more episode on Katherine’s heart around the topic of letting go and moving on.
As Katherine discusses in the episode, you can Let Go - but still may not have Moved On. Mmmhhhmm.
