Sacred Window Podcast: Nurturing Awareness in Postpartum Care
From Quiet Longing to Living Your Purpose—Why Your 'Calling' Needs More Than Passion

There is a quiet longing many of us carry—a knowing that something essential has been lost in the way we support families after birth.

In this episode of the Sacred Window Podcast, Christine Eck reflects on how that longing can become lived purpose. Drawing from years of postpartum caregiving, Ayurvedic wisdom, and lived experience, this conversation explores why postpartum care has been diminished in modern culture—and how it can be reclaimed through conscious presence, community responsibility, and remembrance.

This episode speaks to those who feel called to care: postpartum caregivers, birth workers, mothers, partners, and anyone who senses that healing is not meant to happen alone. We explore the difference between awareness and action, the role of fire and determination in living our purpose, and why conscious caregiving is not limited to a profession—it is a cultural practice that begins within families and extends outward into community.

In this conversation, we explore:
– How longing becomes purpose through conscious action
– Why postpartum care is a cultural responsibility, not an individual burden
– The loss of traditional support systems and what it means to rebuild them
– How caregiving begins with presence, trust, and relationship
– Creating a culture where families are held, not left to navigate fragility alone

This episode is an invitation to remember that when care is present, the postpartum window becomes a space of integration rather than trauma—and that each of us has a role in restoring this way of caring.

Sacred Window Podcast: Nurturing Awareness in Postpartum Care
The Burnout Epidemic No One is Talking About—And the Inner Solution Hiding in Plain Sight

In this solo episode of the Sacred Window Podcast, Christine Eck offers a quiet, steady reflection for caregivers who are holding more than most people can see.

Recorded during the season of darkness and light, this conversation emerges from an awareness that burnout has become almost synonymous with caregiving—especially in postpartum care, birth work, and family support. We name it, we expect it, and often we carry it alone.

But burnout is not a personal failure.
And it is not the price of meaningful work.

Through the lens of Ayurveda and the Universal Mother Principles, Christine explores caregiving as a reciprocal process—one in which the caregiver must also be held, nourished, and resourced from within. She speaks honestly about motivation, depletion, inner fire, and the quiet self-judgment that can arise when we feel we are never doing enough.

This episode is an invitation to step back from the pressure of productivity and return to what truly sustains us. To remember that while we may not be able to do everything, we can tend the center—one moment of presence, one connection, one intentional pause at a time.

This conversation is for:
Caregivers feeling stretched thin
Postpartum and birth professionals navigating exhaustion
Mothers and family caregivers longing for restoration
Anyone questioning how to stay in service without burning out

Rather than offering fixes or formulas, this episode creates space for reflection—asking you to consider your own story of depletion, and the possibility of restoration that still lives within you.

Care was never meant to flow in only one direction.
You are part of the circle, too.

We’re grateful to walk this path together.

Sacred Window Podcast: Nurturing Awareness in Postpartum Care
Self-Healing to Service Work From Farming to Bodywork & Herbalism with Nicole Stratis

Some callings arrive quietly, long before we have language for them.

In this episode of the Sacred Window Podcast, Christine Eck sits in conversation with Nicole Stratis, whose path into postpartum and nervous system care began not in a classroom, but in the soil—working organic farms, listening to plants, and learning through the intelligence of the hands.

Nicole shares how farming and herbalism became early initiations into embodiment, presence, and slowness, and how these earth-based teachings now live at the heart of her work offering sacred touch and conscious care to women—especially during the sacred window after birth.

Together, we reflect on the way plants, land, and the natural world invite us back into our own humanness. We explore touch as relationship rather than technique, postpartum care as a continuation of ancient remembering, and the truth that the body already knows how to heal when it is met with reverence and trust.

This conversation is for anyone who feels called to caregiving work but senses their path has been non-linear, intuitive, or difficult to explain. It is a reminder that your story—however winding—is already preparing you.

In This Episode, We Explore

• Embodied beginnings and unexpected paths into caregiving• Farming and herbalism as spiritual and somatic teachers• Sacred touch as a language of presence• Nervous system healing in postpartum care• Trusting the body’s innate intelligence• Listening for the call that has been guiding you all along

If this conversation speaks to something stirring in you, we invite you to stay connected with us and explore conscious postpartum caregiving through the lens of Ayurveda and the Universal Mother Principles.

About Nicole:

Nicole Shea Stratis guides women home into their bodies through the art of sacred touch and embodied presence. Her path to becoming a licensed massage therapist, yoga teacher, and biodynamic craniosacral therapist began in the soil—working organic farms and apprenticing with herbalists across the country—where she awakened to the profound connection between the earth's health and our own. Through modalities including Lomi Lomi Hawaiian Massage, the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage, and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, she honors the body's innate intelligence as the true healer. Nicole holds space for women to reclaim trust with their bodies, supporting nervous system healing and postpartum care with the deep reverence and presence they deserve.

The Reckoning of Becoming Anew in Postpartum and in Life with Grace Allerdice

In this deeply moving and illuminating episode, Christine welcomes writer, teacher, healer, and ceremonial guide Grace Allerdice for a conversation about one of the most universal human experiences: the reckoning—those moments when life asks us to shed who we’ve been and grow into who we are becoming.

Together, they explore the profound terrain of transformation, postpartum identity shifts, and the vulnerable beauty that emerges in the moments we often fear the most. Grace offers an embodied, soulful lens on why the “bottom of the chasm” isn’t a failure—it’s a portal.

Whether you’re in the postpartum window, navigating a major life change, or supporting others through theirs, this episode brings spaciousness, compassion, and clarity to the unfolding process of becoming.

In this episode we explore:

  • The death-and-rebirth cycles we experience throughout life

  • Why profound change feels like freefall—and why that’s not wrong

  • The innocence beneath our fear, shame, or expectations

  • Postpartum as an initiatory portal of identity and transformation

  • How to hold space without rescuing—especially as caregivers

  • The importance of beauty, quiet, and devotion as guiding anchors

  • Grace’s powerful personal story of unraveling and reclamation

  • What it means to trust the process of becoming, even in the dark

About Grace:

Grace Allerdice is a spiritual writer, teacher, healer, and facilitator; and is currently on a multi-year initiatory path to become an ordained Priestess. She has an extensive background in mystical and magical studies as well as embodiment practices — ranging from art-making and performance to yoga to Hermeticism, and also includes in-depth knowledge + practice of Hellenistic astrology, energetic healing modalities, ceremonial magic and death work.

Sacred Window Podcast: Nurturing Awareness in Postpartum Care
Gathering Support When Hiring a Doula is not Possible with Sarah Trott and Esther Gallagher

There are moments in early motherhood when the longing for support is so real it sits in the body like a weight. And for many families, that longing is met with another ache—the sense that professional postpartum care is out of reach.

In this week’s episode, I’m joined by Sarah Trott and Esther Gallagher, the soulful hosts of the Fourth Trimester Podcast, for a conversation that feels like a deep exhale. Together we explore what becomes possible when we look beyond traditional expectations of paid postpartum care and instead rediscover the ancient, human patterns that have held new mothers for generations.

Sarah shares her experience of hiring Esther for both of her births, and how that early connection eventually led them to create their own platform of postpartum education. Esther—whose decades of experience in postpartum and birth work are rooted in an extraordinary story that began when she was just eight years old—offers wisdom that reminds us how natural it once was for mothers to be held by their community.

Together, we hold the question so many mothers carry quietly:

What do you do when you know you need help, but don’t have the means to hire support?

In this conversation, we explore:

✨ How postpartum support was originally communal—not professionalized
✨ What “doula” truly meant before the term expanded into birth work
✨ Creative, accessible forms of care that don’t depend on financial resources
✨ The Universal Mother Principles as an inner compass when support feels scarce
✨ The power of reciprocity, presence, and small gestures of nourishment
✨ How to soften the shame so many carry around “not having a village”

This episode is a reminder that while the culture around us may not naturally provide postpartum care, the possibility for care is never lost. Community can be built, even slowly. Support can arrive in small, meaningful doses. And the sacred window can still be held with reverence, even when resources feel thin.

Wherever you are in your journey—mothering, caregiving, remembering your own postpartum story—I hope you feel seen here. You deserve support. You deserve nourishment. You deserve to be held.

Pelvic Floor Therapy Using Modern Science and Ayurveda with Sujata Martin

Sujata Martin, a pelvic health occupational therapist, discusses her integration of Ayurvedic principles into Western medical practices to treat pelvic floor dysfunction. She emphasizes the importance of addressing pelvic health pre- and postpartum, using techniques like abdominal and pelvic massages with Ayurvedic oils. Sacred Window Podcast: Nurturing Awareness in Postpartum Care
Exploring Vata Dosha with Molly McConnell

When Vata dosha becomes imbalanced, it can lead to anxiety, racing thoughts, and dry skin. To manage it, the key is to incorporate practices that are grounding, gentle, and nourishing.

Ayurvedic practitioner Molly McConnell suggests starting the day with journaling and meditation to calm the nervous system. To counter Vata's cold and dry nature, she recommends warm beverages and daily oil massages (Abhyanga), especially on the feet. She also highlights the importance of seasonal cleansing to release excess doshas and restore balance.

About Molly:

Molly McConnell is a Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner and Postpartum Doula devoted to cultivating collective wellness. Guided by curiosity, embodied listening, and the rhythms of nature, Molly’s approach to Ayurveda is intentional and intersectinoal. As the cofounder of Cultivate Balance, she supports individuals and families in reconnecting with their bodies and restoring balance through virtual Ayurvedic consultations, personalized nutrition, daily rituals, and seasonal cleansing. Molly also offers postpartum care ranging from virtual guidance to in-home support, including travel and live-in care for families who want to be deeply held during the sacred window.
