Recently, we learned about the sad passing of Mark Dwane, so it was a shock to hear that Mathias Grassow, a leading figure in the drone genre known for his extensive studio and live work, recently lost his life while swimming in the Rhine. Our thoughts are with his family after this tragic accident. Just a mention of Enigmatic Obsession, the creative project of Jens Gad, one of the two founders of the legendary formation Enigma. While Michael Cretu is the more widely recognised figure, Jens Gad played a crucial role in shaping Enigma's distinctive sound. We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mark Dwane on 24th July, following the recent discovery of his cancer diagnosis and limited prognosis. For the first time since the EP was recorded in East Berlin over 40 years ago, the music of Martin Zeichnete, a disciple of Kosmische Muzik, can finally be heard. From The Sine label C37, an emotional downbeat album captures moments of love, loss and hope. Ambient producer from Finland Janne Hanhisuanto has described his work as spacious and cinematic.
