For Visayas Assistant Ombudsman Atty. Jane Aguilar, it was the Scripture that helped her bear the heavy responsibility of rendering judgment. 2 Chronicles 19:6-7 reminded her that true judgment is done not for man, but for the Lord. This became her anchor. And through every temptation—every attempted bribe, every pressure for leniency—she held fast to the Word and her relationship with Christ.
Today, Atty. Jane continues to serve with courage and integrity, and to pastor women as part of the International Core of CFC Handmaids of the Lord.

Coping with illness in the family is a challenging journey. Manny Garcia experienced this when his wife, once active in work and service, suffered a stroke. Life changed dramatically as he learned to cook meals that met her dietary needs, adjusted his daily routines, and dedicated more time at home to care for her. Similarly, Maia Tolentino faced heartbreak upon learning that her daughter had an autoimmune disease requiring longer hospital treatments. She often wished she could take her daughter’s place. Though their stories are different, both reflect the strength of hope and faith in the face of adversity.
