Their Story Will Change How You See Marriage

This episode has been sponsored by Covenant Eyes® A porn-free life is just a few steps away use code: MARRIAGELAB https://victoryweb.covenanteyes.com/register/welcome

Charles and Melendia sat down with me and opened their hearts wide as we talked about the road to 40 plus years of marriage — a road that wasn’t always smooth, wasn’t always pretty, but was always covered by God’s hand.

In this conversation, we walk through the tender places that could’ve broken them…
The season where distance crept in…
The birth experience that shook the foundation of their home…
The life changes that forced them to grow, stretch, and choose each other again and again.

But hear me: what looked like breaking points became building blocks.

You’ll hear how they learned to lean into prayer when emotions were high, how forgiveness became a daily posture, how friendship carried them when feelings felt faint, and how commitment — rooted in God’s covenant — became the glue that held their family together.

If you’ve ever wondered what it really takes to stay married for decades, this episode is your front-row seat to the truth.
Real talk. Real faith. Real longevity.

Get ready to gather notes, gather hope, and gather the kind of perspective that reminds you:
marriage can last, and love can grow deeper with time — even after life hits hard.

Growing Pains

This episode has been sponsored by Covenant Eyes® A porn-free life is just a few steps away use code: MARRIAGELAB https://victoryweb.covenanteyes.com/register/welcome

This episode is different. It is Growing Pains.

In today’s conversation, I’m replaying clips from the most uncomfortable and transparent interview I have ever had to sit through. I sat down with Donni Wiggins for a full business audit, on her Full Transparency podcast and what unfolded was real, vulnerable, and stretching in ways I didn’t expect.

There were moments where I didn’t yet have the language. Moments where I had to sit with hard questions like, “What do you really do?” and “Who are you actually serving?” in real time. It wasn’t polished. It wasn’t easy. But it was necessary.

In this episode, I pause throughout the clips to reflect, teach, and walk you through the clarity that came from that uncomfortable space. I share who I serve, what I believe about intimacy, faith, and connection, and how God has been shaping this work over time.

You’ll hear:

What it looks like to grow in public

How discomfort often precedes clarity

Why faith-based intimacy conversations matter

The framework that now anchors my work

What I’m committing to as I step into 2026

This episode is for anyone who has ever felt like they had vision but needed structure, passion but needed language, or calling but needed clarity.

If you are in a season of becoming, stretching, or rebuilding, this conversation is for you.

Consider this an invitation to grow out loud with me.Hey God Can I? Waitlisthttps://form.jotform.com/251163899615063🎧 Available now💜 The Marriage Lab🎙 Sex Ed for Saints Podcast

Refused to Break... Healing Forward!

This episode has been sponsored by Covenant Eyes® A porn-free life is just a few steps away use code: MARRIAGELAB https://victoryweb.covenanteyes.com/register/welcomeIn this deeply moving episode, I sit down with Larissa Rhone as she courageously shares her story of surviving childhood sexual abuse that began at the age of five and continued for years within her own family.

Friend, this is not an easy conversation, but it is a necessary one.

Larissa walks us through the long and painful journey of truth telling, confronting her abuser, navigating the court system, and standing firm even when some of the people she loved chose silence over support. She opens up about the emotional weight of betrayal, the fear that comes with exposure, and the cost of choosing healing when it disrupts family systems.

We talk about what it means to refuse to break when everything around you is falling apart. We talk about the slow and sacred work of healing. We talk about courage, boundaries, grief, and the strength it takes to keep moving forward when your story is misunderstood or minimized.

This episode is for anyone who has carried trauma quietly.
For anyone who has felt abandoned after telling the truth.
For anyone learning how to heal without permission from the people who hurt them.

Scripture reminds us in Psalm 34:18 (NIV), “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” This conversation is a living testimony of that truth.

Listener discretion is advised due to sensitive subject matter.

If you or someone you love is walking through a similar journey, you are not alone. Healing is possible. Freedom is real. And your voice matters.

Get Your Shift Together!

This episode has been sponsored by Covenant Eyes® A porn-free life is just a few steps away use code: MARRIAGELAB https://victoryweb.covenanteyes.com/register/welcome

In this episode, I’m unpacking what the data actually shows about marriage, why intimacy problems don’t show up at the front end but quietly unravel things on the back end, and why so many couples are suffering in silence.

We’re talking about the rooms we sit in, the conversations we avoid, the church gap around intimacy, and why waiting until things are broken is costing marriages more than we realize.

This is not about shame.
This is about stewardship.
This is about getting your shift together before your marriage falls apart.

If you’re married, engaged, dating, or leading couples, this conversation is for you.

Tune in. Listen closely. And let’s get your shift together.

How Miscommunication Invades the Bedroom, the Spirit, and the Marriage Bed!

This episode has been sponsored by Covenant Eyes® A porn-free life is just a few steps away use code: MARRIAGELAB https://victoryweb.covenanteyes.com/register/welcome

Have you ever gone to war over something small, only to realize later it was never about the “thing” at all?

In today’s episode of Sex-edforSaints, we’re diving into a real-life moment between a couple that went from a simple misunderstanding in the yard to tension in the heart… and eventually tension in the bedroom. In this Lesson with Tammy, I’m breaking down how triggers show up, how unspoken emotions turn into miscommunication, and why the enemy loves to attack your intimacy long before you ever step foot in the bedroom. We’ll talk about how a husband’s posture can create safety or build walls, why emotional security matters just as much as physical provision, and how quickly the marriage bed goes quiet when connection is broken.I’m also giving you three powerful tips to communicate your way back to the bedroom, plus a scriptural reminder that will help you soften, reconnect, and invite the Holy Spirit back into your conversations—and your intimacy. If your marriage has ever hit a moment of friction, silence, or tension… this episode is your invitation to slow down, breathe, and learn how to rebuild connection from a Christ-centered place of tenderness and truth.Until next time.🔗 Connect with Us:🎧 Podcast: Sex-ed for Saints Podcast (available wherever podcasts play)💻 The Marriage Lab LLC: Instagram @themarriagelabllc | TikTok @themarriagelab📘 Facebook: Candid Talks with TammyHey God Can I? Mommy is burnt out!

In today’s episode, I sit down with the incredible Chari Twitty-Hawkins to talk about something so many of us feel but rarely name out loud: mommy burnout. The slow fade. The snippy responses. The feeling of being needed by everyone and nourished by no one. You know that moment when you look at the laundry, the dishes, the kids, and your own reflection… and you whisper, “Lord, I’m tired”? Yeah. We’re going there.

Chari shares her story with such honesty and wisdom, and together we unpack the practical signs that burnout is creeping in, how to recognize the emotional red flags, and what it looks like to choose rest before your body forces it. We talk about giving yourself permission to breathe, to take up space, to rediscover the parts of you that motherhood didn’t erase… just buried under responsibility.

And friend, listen — Jesus modeled rest. He withdrew. He paused. He refreshed. So when you practice self-care, when you carve out moments of solitude and joy, you are not being selfish. You are being wise.

And with the holidays upon us, hear me clearly… don’t be burnt out this holiday season. The gifts, the gatherings, the expectations — all of it can wait, but your well-being cannot. Remember to take time for yourself, even if it’s five quiet minutes in the bathroom with the door locked. You matter too.

This episode will help you
✨ Identify the early signs of mommy burnout
✨ Release the guilt around needing time for yourself
✨ Create rhythms of care that actually fit your life
✨ Reconnect with God and your own identity beyond the role of “mama”

If you’ve been overwhelmed, exhausted, or secretly wondering how to feel like you again… this conversation is a refreshing exhale.

Take a moment. Press play. Let’s walk out of burnout and into restoration — together.

Until next time.🔗 Connect with Us:

Sex Ed for Saints
If you’re still breathing… God’s not done.

This week, grief and gratitude met me in the same room.

My family received heartbreaking news about my cousin—young, quiet, surrounded by her children—as she was moved to hospice care. She could hear, but couldn’t speak. And we had to face the reality that doctors had done all they could. In that moment, I asked myself… what must it feel like to be fully aware that you’re dying, and there is nothing you can do?

Yet even in that silence… God began to speak. Because just as I was grappling with the words some things may die, my phone went off with praise messages from our church group chat—and I found out that another member of our church, who had been declared gone, woke up after the plug was pulled. Two different stories. Two very different outcomes.

Same God. Still faithful.

In this episode, we talk about:

How grief makes us examine life differently

Why gratitude isn’t denial — it’s direction

What Scripture says about finding joy in trials

How marriage is impacted when life moves in the background

The Gottman research that says 69% of marital issues are perpetual — not fatal

Why some things die so other things can rise

And how to recognize when God is asking you to grow, not give up

I also share what I’m personally grateful for this year — my husband’s support, my family’s covering, the communities that held me up, and the fact that I’m living in prayers I once prayed.

This episode is for the woman who is fighting private battles while still showing up publicly… for the wife who’s tired but still loves… for the one who wonders, “Is this over? Or is God stretching me?”

Friend — tears and gratitude can live in the same heart.

If you’re still breathing… God’s not done.

Click play. Let’s breathe, reflect, and give thanks — even here.

Sexuality for the Saints

Can you be saved and still embrace your sexuality? Absolutely. In this honest and unapologetic conversation, sexologist Goody Howard joins me to teach one of the lessons the church often avoids. We are talking about sexuality from a faith centered perspective and giving you language and understanding that so many of us were never taught.

Here are the lessons we explore in this episode:

Lesson One. How to break the stigma around being holy and sexual at the same time.
Lesson Two. Why your faith and your pleasure do not fight each other.
Lesson Three. How singles in the church can honor God and their bodies without fear or shame.
Lesson Four. Practical tools to understand your sensuality in a healthy and God honoring way.

Whether you are married, single, or somewhere in between, this conversation will help you recognize that your sexuality is God given and that you can embrace it while staying rooted in your faith.

Sex Ed for Saints is here to bridge faith and desire one lesson at a time.

From Broken to Built

From toxic childhoods to toxic relationships, from military assault to motherhood — this week’s episode is a powerful story of restoration, resilience, and redemption.

On this episode of the Sex Ed for Saints Podcast, Tammy sits down with author and speaker Desha Henfield, the visionary behind Letters to a Little Girl. Desha’s journey is one that will shake you to your core — raised in instability, moving between her mother and grandmother, enduring harsh words, emotional neglect, and carrying adult responsibilities far too soon.

She later faced sexual assault in the military, a painful marriage, and a divorce that left her starting from nothing. But through faith, therapy, and intentional healing, Desha has rewritten her story. Today, she’s not just surviving — she’s thriving, raising her children with love, pursuing her education, and breaking generational cycles of pain and silence.

💡 In this episode, we dive into:

  • How childhood wounds shape adult relationships and intimacy

  • The journey from survival mode to healing and restoration

  • What it really means to “do the work” — spiritually, emotionally, and mentally

  • How to stop making decisions rooted in trauma

  • Why becoming whole matters before love and marriage

  • How to become a generational curse breaker through faith and courage

This conversation is a reminder that symptoms will always show up until you heal the source. Whether it’s insecurity, anxiety, or unhealthy relationships — your past doesn’t have to be your prison. Like Desha, you can heal, rebuild, and rise.

Unhealed trauma doesn’t disappear, it just disguises itself!

This Monday on the Sex for Saints Podcast, I sit down with author and speaker Crystal Veney, who knows this truth firsthand. Crystal grew up in Philadelphia, and life changed forever when her mother was introduced to drugs at just 28 years old. From that point on, addiction took over her home, leaving Crystal to fend for herself, steal food stamps just to survive, and raise her siblings while trying to navigate childhood. Now, Crystal shares her powerful story of survival, resilience, and faith—showing how trauma doesn’t just fade away. It shows up in relationships, marriages, and the way people see themselves. But she also proves that restoration is possible, and that your story doesn’t have to end where your pain began.

“When Life Shatters: Battling Mental Warfare Inside a Marriage”

What happens when the love you thought would protect you… ends up shattering you instead? 💔

In this deeply raw and unfiltered conversation, my guest opens up about the battles she never thought she’d face: the trauma of her daughter being kidnapped, surviving a sexless and unhappy marriage, and the silent war of trying to hold on to her identity while love, loyalty, and faith collided.

She shares the hidden struggles no one talks about—the behaviors she couldn’t understand, the wounds from a past marriage that refused to stay buried, and the lonely reality of fighting for peace in her own mind while living in a home that no longer felt safe.

This isn’t just about broken marriage—it’s about resilience, survival, and the fight to reclaim yourself when everything else feels lost.
