Jerry is a Founder and Managing Partner at Bascom Group where he oversees property acquisition, financing, refinancing and disposition. Over the past 26 years, he has developed the firm’s investment strategy of acquiring and repositioning undervalued and distressed multifamily assets. In his career, has overseen the acquisition and disposition of over 157,686 units for total transaction cost in excess of $20.7 billion. Prior to founding Bascom, Mr. Fink acted as Senior Acquisitions and Sales Manager from 1991 to 1995 for Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Company.  Mr. Fink holds a Bachelor Degree and an MBA in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he previously served on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association. He is a member of the Institute of Real Estate Managements (IREM) and Turnaround Management Association (TMA). Mr. Fink is a licensed real estate broker in the state of California, a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), a Certified Property Manager (CPM), a Certified Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor (CM&AA), and a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP).  He is currently a member of the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate Executive Committee, and serves on the board for the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) California Coast and California Coast Gold chapters. He has received dozens of awards and recognition over his career including: Apartment Executive of the Year by the Real Estate Conference Group (2004), Rising Star award by the University of California Irvine Center for Real Estate (2008), and Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Orange County (2016).  

Michael Derk is an Executive Managing Director at MMCC. Michael is responsible for securing commercial debt and equity financing for an array of property types including multifamily, office and industrial, retail, seniors housing and hospitality. He is well connected with national, regional and local funding sources including, but not limited to agency lenders (e.g. Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac), commercial banks, CMBS lenders, life insurance companies, private and public funds and bridge lenders. Michael has more than 22 years of commercial real estate finance experience and has closed more than $4 billion in transactions. He specializes in structuring multifamily, retail and industrial products as well as other special purpose properties. During his career with MMCC, he has been honored with the firm’s National Achievement Award every year since 2005. He was also featured in Southern California Real Estate Magazine’s "40 Under 40" in 2004 and 2010. Mr. Derk achieved the highest revenue of all MMCC loan originators in California in 2004 through 2006, 2008 and 2009. He is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance. He also earned a master’s degree in real estate from the University of California, Los Angeles and studied abroad at Oxford University in England. He holds a sales license from the California Department of Real Estate and is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA).
