This will mark an interesting chapter in the Console Wars, as this may be the closest we've been to having cutting edge PC-grade hardware at the launch of a console. Here is my first interview for the SRP Podcast! For my first interview, I had the opportunity to sit down with Ross Bentley, former race car driver, driving instructor, and author of the Speed Secrets series of books! He brings an interesting perspective to the world of Sim Racing, especially in the world of bringing real world drivers into the hobby recently. One question I get quite often is about Gran Turismo, and why I don't race often in GT Sport, or tackle Gran Turismo games in general anymore, especially since they were part of my awakening to the hobby. So I wanted to make this episode of the SRP Podcast to discuss how Gran Turismo sparked my love for Sim Racing, and just how things changed throughout the years...
A couple years ago, we had an exciting Kickstarter campaign from a company called Feel VR, showcasing a Direct Drive Wheel and Pedal Set for an incredibly low price... That campaign turned out to be a resounding success, raising over 1.1 MILLION dollars. However, since then, it seems like there have been a series of unfulfilled promises and just... perplexing behavior since then, so I wanted to take a look and try to get an idea on what the heck is going on...
This is my first episode in the Sim Racing Paddock Podcast, and I decided to tackle a rather interesting topic. Due to the fact of most Real Racing championships being postponed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have seen many real race car drivers dipping their toes into the world of Sim Racing. This past weekend, we had three major Racing Championships hold eSports/Sim Racing events, including one that was televised on National Television! It's an interesting thing to see, and I think it's great for the world of Sim Racing.
