Life as a single mom in recovery isn’t easy—but you don’t have to walk it alone. Do you feel invisible sometimes, like no one really sees the real you? Are you exhausted from holding it all together for everyone else while your own heart feels heavy and worn? Have you ever questioned if God could still use you, or if peace and joy are even possible after all you’ve been through? You’re not alone, mama. I see your struggle, your courage, and your longing for something more. I know the pain of loss, the weight of shame, and the loneliness of walking a path that feels impossible. And I also know the relief that comes when someone finally reminds you—it’s okay to be hurting, it’s okay to ask for help, and your story isn’t over yet. I’m Richelle Braybrook, a wife and a mom—though my journey looks a little different. My children were adopted, and while we live apart, they remain my “why.” I’ve walked through mental health struggles, addiction, deep loss, and moments where I questioned my worth and purpose. But God met me in the middle of my pain and showed me I wasn’t a victim—I was a victor. And He can do the same for you. Single Moms In Recovery is for women like you: single moms who are tired of just surviving, who long to feel understood, and who want to rebuild their lives with hope and strength. Each episode, we’ll talk about real struggles—mental health, addiction, forgiveness, identity, and faith—while offering practical tools, encouragement, and ways to find stability through a relationship with Jesus. If you’re ready to stop surviving and start healing—if you’re ready to trade your pain for peace and your shame for strength—welcome. This is your safe space. 📩 Connect with me anytime at richelle@richellebraybrook.com I want to hear your story, pray with you, and remind you that you are loved, chosen, and never forgotten.

08 | Healthy Boundaries 101 — Learning to Say No Without Guilt
In this episode, we talk about why saying no feels so hard — especially for women who’ve lived through trauma, addiction, or unstable relationships. We unpack where guilt really comes from, how boundaries are tied to self-worth, and why protecting your peace doesn’t make you selfish. This is an honest, grounded conversation about learning to set boundaries without losing your softness, your kindness, or your faith. We also walk through real-life boundary examples with family, ex-partners, friends, church spaces, and even with yourself. If you’re tired of people-pleasing, over-explaining, and carrying everyone else’s emotions, this episode is for you. In this episode, you’ll learn: Why boundaries can feel unsafe and triggering Where guilt shows up when you start saying no How boundaries support healing and recovery What healthy boundaries look like in real life How to protect your peace without shutting people out Reflection for the week:Where am I saying yes out of fear instead of alignment?
