In 1978, a home renovation project uncovered a human skull hidden inside a wall. Through forensic DNA technology, the skull was identified as belonging to Esther Granger, a teenager who died over one hundred years earlier in a nearby town. How did it get there? And what do we think about podcasts put out by for-profit companies?
We're basing our discussion on an episode of America's Crime Lab titled The Skull in the Wall: Revealing Esther Granger's Story.

Kayla, a young woman just out of high school, discovers there are fake images of her on a violent porn site. But it wasn't just her. It was a whole group of women from her high school. The police, though, said these deepfakes, created by artificial intelligence, weren't illegal. So, they banded together to fight back. We are basing our discussion on an episode of CBC's Crime Story with Kathleen Goldhar, titled He posted fake images of them on a porn site. Now these women are fighting back.

We were delighted to join Bill and Frank's Guilt-Free Pleasures, one of our favorite podcasts, for a very special crossover episode. Their amazing show celebrates songs you should feel no shame in loving.
For this episode, we discuss a guilt-free pleasure based on a true crime: The Cranberries' "Zombie." The song was written in reaction to the 1993 Warrington bombings by the Provisional IRA that killed two children. We delve into the history of the band as well as the background behind the writing of the song. We also discuss Dee's lived Irish experience and how it measures up to Frank's independent study for his grade 12 history class on the IRA. Jeff brings us into the 1993 Time Machine, while Bill brings a mixtape that can be only described with guttural 1990s rock sounds. We're excited for you to hear this crossover "very special episode!"

Bill and Frank's theme music is by the incredibly talented Ian McGlynn.

Gisèle Pelicot is a feminist icon. The French woman was drugged and raped by her husband and dozens of men he invited into their home over the span of 10 years. In the ensuing trial, Pelicot bravely waived her right to anonymity and focused the shame on the men. She became a powerful advocate for sexual assault survivors and we're here to discuss her story. We are basing our discussion on the Crime & Coffee Couple episode on the case.
