Mario Kart Double Dash is one of the 2 Mario Kart games I played very often when I was younger. A few months ago I got into time trialing this game and learned not only how awesome this game is, but how awesome its community is too. A lot of people helped me and over the time I got better and learned how deep this game is.
There is so much to optimize and on a technical standpoint this game is the most polished and technical MK game out there (if you play time trials, with items / cpu's this game is broken)
I joined together with Rebecca to tell you how much fun this game is, why it is so good and how to learn it and climb the ladder - Hope you enjoy the episode and get ready for some double dashing!

TGH is a professional full time Speedrunner for many years who has been very known for picking up a game and master it very quickly with seemingly little effort.
Today he shares how he learns and practice a game, how he goes from a casual first playthrought to learning the speedrun with all ressources given to master the game in an efficient way.
Hope you learn something from this episode, sure I did learn a bunch of new techniques I will implement into my speedrunning so I am excited to practice more in the future. Please do me a favour and check out TGHs Twitch stream: https://www.twitch.tv/tgh_sr and give him a little support, he is an awesome speedrun nearly streaming daily!

In todays solo episode I try to answer the highly requested question "How to learn any Speedrun" or how I would learn any new speedrun and how I would recommend to learn a speedrun if you are completely new to it. A lot of people seem to have trouble with that, especially in the beginning, so in this episode I try to cover all the basics.
I show you how to find the right resources and use them effectively in order to build a good solid foundation of basics and muscle memory. Muscle memory is probably the most important skill every speedrunner has to learn and master. That's why it is the biggest part of this episode since it is so important that you do that right!
If you want to vote in the future for the next solo episode topic keep an eye out on my Twitter or Discord, I ask occasionally for the next topics there. Also if you have any personal suggestion of a topic or of a guest I should invite, hit me up in the DMs on both of those or just write in my public Discord server, I am always open for new recommendation and suggestions!

In todays episode I don't have a guest (due to issues on their side) but I tried my best to record a nice short episode alone talking about an important topic: the timer!
A lot of runners end up looking to often at the timer and don't realize how bad that CAN be, hope you enjoy the episode and you can learn something from it!
Please give me feedback on the comments if you like these solo episodes or not!

WarMech is a very talented Plants vs. Zombies speedrunner who talked greatly about the mechanics of the game and explained why it is far away from just an "auto-scroller speedrun".
This is part 2 of the recording, where we look a little deeper into the speedrun and understand more of its uniqueness. Highly recommened to also listen to part 1!

After discovering Danger's Youtube account who is very similar to mine I thought he would make a perfect Podcast guest - I gotta admit, he was a very great person to have on the show!
We recorded 2 episode, after last weeks episode where we talked about general Speedrun advice and how to improve we took in todays episode a look at the Super Mario Odyssey Speedrun and why it is so popular.
Hope you enjoy both episodes and make sure to check out Dangers Twitch and Youtube, links are as always below!

Davesterio is a friend of mine so I invited him to a 2nd recording. Since we talked last time about the original Final Fantasy 7 speedrun I found it very fitting to discuss with him about the remake and its speedrun as well.
He absolutely loves that game and shared a lot of insights about its early speedrun progression. Hope you can learn a lot about learning and finding your way into new speedruns - hopefully you got as inspired as I did by the speedrun community and their ability to find new ways to break the games apart!

The 2nd part of my recording with Vilkku. In this half of the recording we talked a lot more about our experience with Speedrunning so far and we just discussed what an ideal mindset looks like and other related topics.

In this weeks episode for the first time ever I didn't search for somebody to come to my Podcast, better saying Vilkku found me and asked if he can be on this show! Happy i got to a point where people try to get themself on my Podcast - I was really proud.
Vilkku is a GTA V and Watchtogs speedrunner who talked about those games and why he is speedrunning those but asides that we also had a more open disscussion about Speedrunning, mindset and everything that belongs to it.
So if you are interested in general advice for speedruns this is still a perfect episode for you!

We all know Speedrunning can be a pain in the ass sometimes. Besides learning and getting better at the game which can already be really hard there is much more to learn and to endure as a speedrunner the further you want to get.
So today I invited Simply, a very experienced speedrunner who went through a lot. We ended up talking about all the critical points in his career such as his hand issues, problems with mindset and the grind in the competitive field of speedrunning. He is explaining a lot from his perspective and is giving great advice on given topics.
What a worth episode it was, me and Simply really loved to record this one. After the recording we had a nice chat in my stream with my twitch audience, so if you have any questions to my guests or me about Speedrunning or basically anything - come check out my stream, all podcast recordings happen there.

A lot of people who watch me on Twitch or follow me on Twitter know that I am a big fan of Kaizo Mario since recent times and I try my hardest to get better at it. Ever since I discovered Kaizo Mario for myself I wanted to invite someone from the Kaizo community to talk about that awesome game genre and here he is: GlitchCat!
He is one of the more known people when it comes down to Kaizo Mario, he plays and speedruns those games since a very long time so he was capable to talk about the history of Kaizo Mario very well. We talked about all kinds of things: From how it started, how to get into it all the way to its Speedruns and the future of Kaizo Mario!
Hope I can get someone excited for Kaizo Mario, I highly recommend checking it out, we shared all secrets on how to have a fun and pleasurable experience with these very difficult games!

This is the second part of the dwangoAC interview. In this part he shared a lot of knowledge and described tech about TasBot and what problems the community has to face. He was straight up blowing my mind and he shared very specific knowledge you won't find anywhere else.
If you wanna get a little bit more of an insight and actually wanna see how the tech he was describing looks like, make sure to check out the video of this episode as well. I know it sounds counterproductive to watch a episode a second time, but this episode was so massive that I think on a 2nd listen you will understand a whole lot more! Here is the Youtube video of this episode: https://youtu.be/6vZW6I5JEqQ
Also once again shoutouts to dwangoAC, as a whole he is a very valuable member of our community and he is doing a shitton of work so make sure to check him out, highlight recommend to follow this dude around and watch all of his content! https://www.twitch.tv/dwangoAC
If you now wanna watch some more awesome Speedrun content, like learning something about the Celeste Any% speedrun histroy then check out this video: https://youtu.be/HYKxrTfiymA
Or maybe you wanna join an growing community revolving around my stream. I try to be very open and welocming to everybody, currently we are speedrun Celeste and Hollow Knight from time to time or try to challenge ourself in Kaizo-Mario, so if that sounds intersting to you please check out my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/flesh177
I was really excited for this episode since I all the TASBot showcases at previous GDQ events have been personal highlights. So I was talking with the owner of TASBot dwangoAC who told me everything about creating a TAS, where to join the community and a lot of behind the scene information.
Hope you enjoy the episode as much as I did!
Please also consider joining and checking out the offical TASBot stream, where a lot of things get showcased to get a better idea of what is happening in the world of TAS: https://www.twitch.tv/dwangoAC
Those episodes are and will be recorded on my Twitch channel, so if you want to watch them before they get uploaded to any other platform then consider follow my Twitch channel, you will also find other gaming and Speedrun content there: https://www.twitch.tv/flesh177
In todays episode I invited Emray, a female Hollow Knight and Pokemon speedrunner. We talked about the female speedrun community and how it is to be a girl in a male dominated community.
She shares some sad stories from the part but also explains how it got better today and that females and transgender are generally very welcomed in the Speedrunning scene. Please share this episode with all your female and transgender friends who might be scared to join the Speedrun-community.
Emray is a awesome streamer, I love her energy and humor during her streams and she is so close to become a partner, so please go to her channel and support her, she deserves it! (-> https://www.twitch.tv/emray)
If you are interested in more Podcast episodes and wanna catch some of those before they go online on a weekly base, I can only suggest to you to check out my Twitch channel, we will stream all Podcast recordings there to record them! (-> https://www.twitch.tv/flesh177)
Most people who ever held a world record for a longer time probably have experienced that: the general audience of twitch doesn't know what really stand behind a world record.
They think there is a big rivalry between runners and also their behavior pressures runners to performe well otherwise they are not worth it. Because of reasons like that I talked with Kosmic about that topic to clear some things up.
We are also humans and we do understand why a world record is more exciting than just a regular run or personal best. But it is also our hobby and all we want is just getting fun and enjoyment out of that hobby. So I hope after this episode you understand us better.
Please make sure to follow Komsic on Twitch, he is a fantastic Mario Bros. 1 runner (the best out there in my opinion.
I would also like to remind you that you can catch those podcast episodes live, so make sure to check out my twitch channel, there you can interact with me and my guests before and after the episode recording!
In the 2nd episode I recorded with Vysuals we talked and explained everything you need to know about RNG in Speedruns! Since Vysuals has to deal with RNG consistently in his speedrun (Hollow Knight) he got a lot of valuable info on how to deal with randomness mentally, which you need to listen too.
He also clears up the "misconception" that RNG is nothing good in Speedruns, in fact he believes a random factor gives most speedruns more depth and make them uniqu and special. Of course there is the need of the right balance between randomness and pure skill parts in a speedrun, but if they are met together well we get beautiful speedruns, like Hollow Knight.
Hope you stop hating on RNG and you finally start to see the postive, thank you Vysuals for chatting with me about this topic it was very informative, please do me a favoure and support and watch him on his journey to become a partnered streamer on twitch, link to his channel here!
Catch those episodes live if you can on my twitch cahnnel, would make me happy to see you guys there and chat with you a bit about the topics too. Me and my guests have obviously enough spare time to talk with all of you!
