Meditation is considered a tool to build internal energy, develop compassion, love, patience, generosity, and forgiveness. Meditation often involves an internal effort to self-regulate the mind in some way. In Raj yoga meditation the key component is knowing self and working on improving self. Without knowing who one is in real- the meditation is in vain. Once, this clarity is achieved that this meditation is done by my thoughts and not by my mouth or hands the practice gets easier.
Acknowledging your own self as a soul is the hardest of a task because constantly reminding own- self that you are a soul becomes an ordeal. When at work or dealing with others, this consciousness completely dissolves with the role of the soul and this disconnect opens many doors for the ego to enter. While meditating one has to shut such doors and concentrate on oneself. Once this grand hurdle is crossed, connecting with God becomes like a child's play. In order to get into this soul conscious state , one has to re-enforce one's own self of being the purest form of this energy!
Meditate comes from the Latin word ‘meditari’ which means to think, contemplate, or conceive. In our daily life we use the term meditation to a broad variety of practices that includes techniques designed to promote relaxation like breathing exercises, hand gestures, which are a practice of 'Hatt Yoga'. Which are based on physical postures and are useful to the body. The other major practice has been a component of numerous religious traditions and beliefs. For centuries it has been done sitting, singing, chanting mantras, counting prayer beads or some other rituals, in order to remind the practitioner about some aspects of meditation. All the outwardly physical efforts are coined as meditation, but in reality meditation means just to connect with your own self.
Hypothetically speaking- Suppose I leave this body this very minute, my body still exists but is without a life. I cannot function in a dead body. All my belongings like my body, my family, my job, my house are still here but I am not here to use them, so who is this- I ? who vanished away leaving me a dead body
The answer would be the I- the soul or the spirit residing in this body. Indeed! I am a soul is not something any of us remember any time- right? Hardly any of us realize it in everyday life. We simply live by the days fulfilling needs and essential requirements of the body. We don't see this subtle energy which is in real our identity so we call ourselves a body and believe all of the possessions and relations we hold are due to this body. This wrongful image I carry all my life while living in this body. I work timelessly for all my belongings but never take them with me. Most of us know and understand that we slog in vain yet we do what we do lifelong.
One main and most important detail- that I am a soul is the only thing I don't take care of,rest others I hold very tight, cling on to it and never let it go!
First of all God can only connect with us on a soul level. He does not have a body therefore he does not see human bodies.
He is not there to fulfill our wishes, he doesn't punish us, he is not the creator of nature. Nature is eternal, he is not holding us to any of our wrongdoings, he is not even watching us, and most importantly he is not interfering in our lives at all. God is not a magician, he has no wand which he spins and magically things happen in our favor, he cannot change our fate because he does not write our destiny.
The mightiest of the mighty HAS A VERY LIMITED ROLE!
He can only direct us when we establish a relationship with him that too on a soul level. For which we have to have the knowledge of the soul, and its inner qualities and powers.
Before I begin today's revelation I would like to announce a disclaimer. My point is not at all to shake your trust, faith or belief in God. I am also not asking to stop praying or keeping you away from any religious practice. My intentions are very clear on revealing who God is from the point of view of rajyog. I would like to remind you again I am not asking anyone to change your beliefs, faiths, rituals, religious practices or religion. I only intend to share my spiritual knowledge of what I have learned over the years keeping an open mind and seeking logical explanation of it. I would request all my listeners to do the same...
In Bhagavad gita in the 4the chapter God says: I am coming, I am coming, when there is a loss of religion, then I am coming, when the iniquity increases, then I am coming to protect the gentlemen, to destroy the wicked I am coming in to establish religion and I am born in the age of era.
In simplified form God very clearly states in Bhagavad, that “I come on earth on the day of judgment. When all religions have reached a point of saturation of wrong faith and doings, when there is total chaos in the human world. When human souls are totally exhausted from living in a mess they created. It is then when I leave my home and come to help you my children” and create a new peaceful world
Now the question arises, coming from where? Why does he say I come from my home? If he is in temples, shrines, cathedrals, mosques then where is he coming from? Let us see what God says…
Every religion on the planet has any form of light while performing the religious ritual. In Hinduism diyas are lit for any prayer or religious performance. In Islam the main sacred stone in Mecca, has fire lit in front which is called the 'noor' and has been lit for ever for many many years. In Christianity the candle is commonly used in worship both for decoration and ambiance, and as a symbol that represents the 'light of God'. Buddhism has candles and incense sticks lit every time for every ritual. Similarly the Jewish synagogues each have their eternal lamp. Pick any faith or religion, everywhere light carries a significant role.
Mainly because all the religions believe light represents God. All the religious scriptures mention that too. In bhagavad gita God says that I am the highest of the high. I am never born nor do I die. I am absolute Knowledge, I am absolute purity, I am eternal light. I am Infinite. I am omnipotent. I am an energy in the form of light. A very subtle point of light.
Now why just a point of light?
God further explains that a point is infinite, has no dimensions, no measurements. Point is indestructible and so am I.
In the 7 chapter of Bhagavad Gita, God very clearly states that only he can give his clear introduction and no other soul knows him as well as he does himself. So, kindly read this piece with an open mind. I would like to remind you that my intentions are not at all of changing your beliefs, faiths, rituals, religious practices or religion. I only intend to share my spiritual knowledge of what I have learned over the years keeping an open mind and seeking logical explanation of it. I would request all my listeners to do the same... thanks
One question I am asked constantly is how to bring inner peace in life? I often answer by seeing the curiosity of the person because some are not serious about what they are asking . If I say spirituality is one aspect of understanding to bring in inner peace then the next obvious question is what is spirituality? Many of us connect this one word ‘spirituality’ with religion and start to practice one or more religious practices. The results we get are not satisfying and soon we leave the religious practice.
The mind is the faculty of the soul when I, the soul, thinks it is called a mind. The mind is further divided into parts : conscious mind, subconscious mind or unconscious mind and the preconscious mind,
The conscious mind is active when we are awake and alert, that is actively engaging in the present moment, including direct perception, thinking, and feeling. It facilitates our ability to think, make decisions, and process information. The conscious mind holds feelings, sensations, and perceptions. The function of the active mind is directing attention, perceiving events, and responding to our environment. So basically we use our conscious mind when we are fully active, awake and aware of our surroundings.
Crossing the Rubicon river’ would have been easier for Caesar in comparison to the author of this podcast, who chose to change her life a complete180 degrees. Failing more often than succeeding week after week, for adopting a lifestyle contradicting her old ways of living. Not giving up but firmly holding on to the last thread of hope. A strong affirmation, a belief-when many successfully did it, so can she. Her stubbornness to learn kept her motivated. Gradually but steadily she molded herself into this new lifestyle and saw changes in her attitude, her words, her actions. Her overall behavior changed for betterment. Family, friends, acquaintances, even strangers, everyone saw this amazing new person and wondered how angelic one can become by improving oneself. How one can inculcate and become an embodiment of peace, happiness, and love…
Every person thinks through three main factors of manufacturing thoughts. The first one is Information. Whatever one sees, reads or hears becomes the source of information and gets trapped in the memory. Memory is the second factor, when any similar situation arrives the previous 2 factors- information and memory get triggered by the Stimulus and a Thought is created. The original thoughts behind our thoughts are also generated in our subconscious mind, and are often erased by our hectic schedule. However, they are retained in our memory, and often come in the form of dreams.
Thoughts send vibrations in the environment because thoughts are high energy. That energy is reflected back. When we think, a Karma is created, when its results come back it is destiny. This pattern is cyclic. Thoughts shape our personalities. Thoughts not only impact one lifetime but are carried into many births. Thoughts have a tremendous power on our souls.
I shared with you how some vital organs of our body crave for some innate qualities of our souls. For instance, the brain craves for knowledge, lungs crave for peace, heart craves for love, five senses crave for purity, stomach for contentment, and kidney, liver for selflessness.
Because psychosomatic disorders are related to mind and mind is a faculty of the soul. Therefore there are some simple lifestyle changes one can implement to decrease stress, tension, anxiety and depression and also quell symptoms. The main idea generated is to calm down your nervous symptoms, express your feelings so that they don’t stay “bottled up,” and learn how to recognize the first signs of stress so it doesn’t spiral out of control.Besides speaking to a therapist or a mental health counselor who can help you identify dynamics that may be causing these illnesses
Next major organ which helps our body run on a daily basis is our filtration system. Consisting of Kidneys, liver, bladder, ureter, parts of the urinary tract. The physiology of a few of the organs is as follows:
At the same time the liver plays the most significant role in cleansing the blood. The liver breaks down waste into relatively harmless substances that is then released from the body.
Now let's talk about the illness of filtration system
The two major illnesses associated with the filtration system of the body are type two diabetes and high blood pressure. Which are responsible for up to two-thirds of the cases. Diabetes happens when your blood sugar is too high, causing damage to many organs in your body, including the kidneys and heart, as well as blood vessels, nerves and eyes.
After lungs and heart the digestive system plays a vital role in our body. The digestive system is made up of the gastrointestinal tract—also called the digestive tract or GI tract. The main organs that make up the digestive system are the mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum and anus. Helping them along the way are the pancreas, gallbladder and liver.
The digestive system breaks down the foods we eat into energy our bodies can use. Stomach is a muscular organ found in the GI tract. The stomach muscles contract periodically churning food to enhance digestion with the help of acid and enzymes it produces. Motility, digestion, absorption and secretion are the four vital functions of the digestive system as described by WebMD and other medical sites
Gas, bloating, heartburn, acid reflux, are some of the discomforts we get due to negative emotions.
The negative emotions which give this system its psychosomatic illness are jealousy and comparison.
Heart is the muscle at the center of our circulation system, pumping blood around our body as our heart beats. This blood sends oxygen and nutrients to all parts of our body, and carries away unwanted carbon dioxide and waste products. Heart is a tender organ and is most associated with love, care and self worth. Love is nothing but accepting self, then the other person, a given situation, any object living or nonliving.
In my previous posts, I talked about the effect of emotions on the brain and five senses. Today, I am going to talk about lungs and what lungs crave for? The lungs are the center of the respiratory (breathing) system. Every cell of the body needs oxygen to stay alive and healthy. Our body also needs to get rid of carbon dioxide. This gas is a waste product that is made by the cells during their normal, everyday function.
So our lungs bring oxygen into our bodies, which is called inhalation and sends out carbon dioxide which is called exhalation. This exchange is called respiration that is why lungs are the prominent organ
After our brain comes the five senses of the body. These five senses are sight, smell, hear, touch, and taste. The body organs which are connected or responsible for the five senses are eyes, nose, ears, mouth and hands. They not only make us look good and pretty but assist the body in seeing, hearing, touching, smelling and tasting. Despite the fact that they appear physically different from the outside they are all the same from inside and their in functionality
All of these body parts are sensitive to their respective features like When we see anything unpleasant or gross we tend to close our eyes. This action is so automated that we hardly recognize it.
Today, I will inform you how the brain , which is a powerhouse of our body, gets affected by our thoughts. Anger, fear, jealousy, rage all take a huge toll on our brains. Many malfunctioning of the brain are directly related to such negative thoughts. How can one take charge of it, lets see.Brain is a physical organ which resides in our skulls and is mainly in the forehead area. It is divided into several compartments but these three are the major ones.
When you are stressed, anxious, or upset, your body reacts physically.Within reasonable limits, emotions cause no disease or weakness in the body. However, when negative thoughts or emotions become so powerful that they become uncontrollable and overwhelming for a prolonged period, they can cause real injury to the internal organs and open the door to disease.
When the negative thoughts hit us we lose sense of judgment because the overpowering negativity rules our minds that time intellect stops making any decisions and lets the mind win resulting in wrong thinking, speaking and doing...
