Unbelievable. The 2021 Toronto Blue Jays season ends one win short of the playoffs, with a 91-71 record. The final day unfolded with the most drama possible, ending in a series of slow motion heartbreaks for the Blue Jays over the course of the afternoon across the league. Cheering for the Washington Nationals is no way to live. The super talented Blue Jays had a season to remember, and one that was certainly fun to watch. The Blue Jays continue their desperate fight to make the 2021 playoffs, taking care of business against the Minnesota Twins and then fighting valiantly to steal a win from the Tampa Bay Rays at The Trop. But not before controversy befalls the team as Kevin Kiermaier maybe kind of steals Alejandro Kirk's matchup card and pays for it with a fastball between the numbers. A heinous act or gamesmanship? Only time will tell. Plus friend of the show Andrew Wilson stops by to discuss watching a Jays playoff run as a new dad and tries to figure out why Rolling Stone felt it necessary to rank 500 songs.

What a difference a few weeks makes! Jake is back from vacation on the East Coast and he has returned to a baseball team in a much different spot than when he left. The Jays are currently sitting on top of the wild card standings after going 13-2 in the time since he was last cohosting the show. We retrace how we got here, including a miracle win over the Oakland Athletics that may have turned the entire season around and salvaged a year into something special. With two and a half weeks left in the season, here's hoping we have playoff episodes on the way.
