Star Trek: Khan is an American audio drama series directed by Fred Greenhalgh and written by Kirsten Beyer and David Mack, based on a story by Nicholas Meyer. It is part of executive producer Alex Kurtzman's expanded Star Trek Universe. The series explores Khan Noonien Singh during the nearly 20 years that he is stranded on the planet Ceti Alpha V between the events of the Star Trek: The Original Series episode "Space Seed" (1967) and Meyer's film Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982). Naveen Andrews stars as Khan, with Wrenn Schmidt, Sonya Cassidy, George Takei, and Tim Russ also starring. Work on the project, which originated as a three-episode television miniseries written by Meyer, was first revealed in June 2017. That version did not move forward due to the cost of producing such a short series. Kurtzman revealed plans to expand the Star Trek Universe into scripted podcasts in May 2022, and Meyer announced Star Trek: Khan –...

As Batel prepares to leave the Enterprise to take up her new role, the crew discover that the Vezda has escaped from the transporter pattern buffer in a reconstruction of Gamble's body. Korby finds Gamble at a doorway to the Vezda prison and the Enterprise goes to rescue him. This is a trap to lure out M'Benga, as he and Gamble need to be together to open the doorway. The crew learn that the unique combination of DNA inside Batel matches the biology of the Beholder statue that guards the prison. To open the doorway without M'Benga and Gamble, the crew devise a plan to simultaneously fire on it from the Enterprise and the Farragut; Spock performs a mind meld with James Kirk so the two can perfectly sync their actions. Pike and Batel enter the prison and confront Gamble, who destroys the Beholder and frees the other Vezda. Using her emerging power, Batel creates an illusion in which she and Pike live a full and happy life together. She then traps all the Vezda in the prison and becomes the Beholder. Pike struggles to move on without Batel as the Enterprise sets out to explore uncharted planets.

While investigating an area of gravimetric distortions, Ortegas is suddenly pulled through a wormhole and crashes on a toxic moon in orbit of a gas giant, where a strange light observes her from a distance. Ortegas quickly discovers that a female Gorn pilot is also stranded, but the Gorn saves and protects Ortegas from the moon's dangers. Initially wary due to her traumatic experiences with the Gorn, Ortegas befriends the pilot and discovers that they are not so dissimilar—the two work together to find a way off the moon. At the same time, the Enterprise must soon rendezvous with the Constellation,[c] so Uhura lies about some data to get Pike to take the ship through the wormhole in search of Ortegas. Ortegas and the Gorn ignite the moon's atmosphere, signaling the Enterprise, but La'An kills the Gorn, mistaking her for an enemy. A Metron appears to Ortegas, explaining that they had brought the two together to see if peace between humans and Gorn was possible. Because of La'An's violent reaction, the Metron erases Ortegas' memories of their meeting, planning to study the situation further in the future.[d] Back on the ship, Ortegas mourns her new friend.
