We are looking for early adopters and partners who want to bring the rigor and intensity of the world’s best firms to AI software development. We believe in the value of human-centric AI tools and we strive to accelerate human understanding through automation designed to assist, mentor, and improve the user.

Our founder is from the industry. He's felt the pressure of building a defensible memo and the excitement of seeing that hard work pay off at exit. He created Engramic to be the virtual mentor in homage to those who helped him learn the trade. A platform that pressure-tests your thinking and guides you to not just present your analysis, but to truly own it.

Consistently refining you startup idea with AJ Weinzettel of Block 55

In 2019, I decided to start writing about wineries. Not just any writing—deep, thoughtful 1,500 to 2,500-word newsletters about individual wineries. Each week, I would dive into the story of a single winery, exploring their history, their craft, and what made them special.

What started as a passion project quickly became something more. I was building relationships with winery owners, tasting room managers, and winemakers across the country. These weren't business relationships—they were genuine connections built on shared appreciation for the craft of winemaking.

Intersectional Group was founded in 2022 by Zhou Fang, our Principal Practitioner. The framework of Intersectionality is the foundation of our work at Intersectional Group, a consulting firm that centers human emotions and experiences while addressing matters and issues that have significant impacts on individuals, leadership, communities, organizations, and societies. We pair our practitioners’ expertise and lived experiences with the approaches of intersectionality, empathy, compassion, and curiosity. This makes our leadership, equity, diversity, and inclusion practice personal - our practitioners represent historically marginalized groups which enables us to bring an intimate, lived perspective to our work. Our focus on intersectionality enables our clients, both individuals and organizations, to understand their challenges with more clarity and address the root causes of issues that prevent equity.

Building your own algorithms on Bluesky and AT Protocol with Graze

Ever wish you could build your own algorithms on social media? With Graze and Bluesky / AT Proto, you can. Generate feeds that enable you to see the content you want to see — and share that with anyone in the world.

  • 00:00 Startup stories cold open

Full disclosure: I own a teeny tiny portion of Graze through invested capital.

Graze was born from years of deep work theorizing the social web: building tools, dissecting systems, and probing the mechanics of influence, power, and connection. We've spent decades thinking critically about how platforms shape behavior, how algorithms mediate truth, and how control becomes concentrated in the hands of a few. That history is baked into every part of what we're building. Now, for the first time, the infrastructure exists to do it right.Bluesky and the AT Protocol make it possible to build a truly open, user-owned social web, and Graze is here to help shape it.

AI agents with Voiya.ai's founder

Curious about AI agents…? Join us for this Startup Founder Stories conversation with Mohamed the founder of Voiya as we talk about startups, AI, and AI agents.

STARTUP FOUNDER STORIES: VOIYA.AI

00:00 Startup founder stories cold open

00:15 What does your startup do?

00:41 What inspired you to work on this problem?

02:47 [BONUS] What is an AI agent?

03:58 What’s one piece of advice you’d give to startup founders?

05:40 What’s one resource you can’t live without?

06:33 How can we be helpful?https://voiya.aiAI agents are autonomous software systems that combine large language models with tool use, memory, and decision-making capabilities. Instead of responding only to direct prompts, agents can observe a state, generate a plan, take actions through APIs or code execution, evaluate results, and iterate until a task is complete. This allows them to handle multi-step workflows such as research, data processing, customer support triage, or operational automation without constant human oversight. As the underlying models and reasoning capabilities continue to improve, agents are increasingly able to operate with context awareness and persistent goals, making them suitable for both routine and complex tasks.Within the startup ecosystem, AI agents are emerging as a force multiplier across nearly every operational function. Early-stage teams use agents to accelerate product development, automate back-office processes, and handle repetitive or time-sensitive tasks that would previously require additional headcount. Agents also enable founders to experiment more quickly—running analyses, generating prototypes, or validating ideas in hours rather than days. On the market side, investors are watching agents as both a transformative horizontal technology and a source of new vertical applications, from automated sales ops to continuous market intelligence. While still maturing, AI agents are becoming foundational tools that allow startups to operate with greater leverage, speed, and adaptability.FIND RICK TUROCZY ON THE INTERNET AT…- https://patreon.com/turoczy- https://linkedin.com/in/turoczy- Portland Oregon startup news on Apple Podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/portland-oregon-startup-news-silicon-florist/id1711294699- Portland Oregon startup news Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/2cmLDH8wrPdNMS2qtTnhcy?si=H627wrGOTvStxxKWRlRGLQ- Startup Stories on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/1Tk7bbzaNYowGouI9ucKC3- Startup Stories on Apple Podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/startup-stories-with-silicon-florist/id1849468494- The Long Con on Apple Podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-long-con/id1810923457- The Long Con on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/48oglyT5JNKxVH5lnWTYKA- https://bsky.app/profile/turoczy.bsky.social- https://siliconflorist.substack.com/- https://pdxslack.comABOUT SILICON FLORIST ----------For nearly two decades, Rick Turoczy has published Silicon Florist, a blog, newsletter, and podcast that covers entrepreneurs, founders, startups, entrepreneurship, tech, news, and events in the Portland, Oregon, startup community. Rethinking social media with Dayo's Corey Scholibo

Today on Startup Stories, we're rethinking social media with Corey Scholibo of Dayo, a startup that rewards people for staying off social media by giving them money to spend with their favorite brands. And now, they've expanded the service to help teens and parents deal with social media collaboratively.STARTUP STORIES: DAYO00:00 Startup stories cold open00:23 What does your startup do?02:13 What inspired you to work on this problem?07:46 What’s one piece of advice you’d give to startup founders? 10:36 What’s one resource you can’t live without?13:07 How can we be helpful?Parents create a custom deal choosing, what apps, how much time, and the funding amount. Deals are 30 days long. Dayo walks through the setup with the child and ensures the time on apps are being tracked. If the child goes over the allotted time, they will see money leave their wallet and go back to the parents wallet. They can earn back funds by staying within the limits of the deal for 3-days in a row. Whatever is left in their wallet at the end of the Deal (30 days) they get to keep, and use as Cash, exchange or gift cards (amazon, starbucks, sephora, and hundreds more). The goal is to build trust, autonomy, and learn how to budget, save and make better choices. https://dayo.coFIND RICK TUROCZY ON THE INTERNET AT…- https://patreon.com/turoczy- https://linkedin.com/in/turoczy- Portland Oregon startup news on Apple Podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/portland-oregon-startup-news-silicon-florist/id1711294699- Portland Oregon startup news Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/2cmLDH8wrPdNMS2qtTnhcy?si=H627wrGOTvStxxKWRlRGLQ- Startup Stories on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/1Tk7bbzaNYowGouI9ucKC3- Startup Stories on Apple Podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/startup-stories-with-silicon-florist/id1849468494- The Long Con on Apple Podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-long-con/id1810923457- The Long Con on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/48oglyT5JNKxVH5lnWTYKA- https://bsky.app/profile/turoczy.bsky.social- https://siliconflorist.substack.com/- https://pdxslack.comABOUT SILICON FLORIST ----------For nearly two decades, Rick Turoczy has published Silicon Florist, a blog, newsletter, and podcast that covers entrepreneurs, founders, startups, entrepreneurship, tech, news, and events in the Portland, Oregon, startup community. {TRAILER} Startup Stories with Silicon Florist

If you’re a venture-scale startup founder in Oregon or Southwest Washington, I’d love to learn more about what you’re building. More importantly…? I’d love to record our conversation and share it with a whole bunch more people who also deserve to learn more about what you’re building.

No stress. No gotchas. No difficult questions. Just you pitching your startup to some old dude on the Internet — and anyone else who will listen.

Not a founder…? No worries. You can participate, as well. So if you’re around here, you’re working for ANY startup anywhere, and you have permission to talk about that startup, I’m happy to chat with you too. Because people should know about all of the awesome startups that have a presence here — whether they’re headquartered here or not.

And yes, if you’re working with startup founders — maybe you’re an investor, a coworking space, a lawyer, or an accountant — please share this with the founders you encounter. To put it another way, “tell your friends.”

Like, for real. Tell them. Right now. (Heck, you can just reshare this trailer, Lazy McLazypants. It’s not even that hard.)

In a town that’s way over indexed on amazing founders filled with aggressive humility, we just need to take a few extra steps to get those incredible stories out there. And to tell the story — firsthand — of what people are building here.

I hope you’ll take the opportunity to join me — or encourage someone else to make that happen. Honestly, I am already looking forward to learning more about what you’re building. Please and thank you 🫶
